Queen Elizabeth The Second was the longest reigning monarch in British history. During her 70 years on the throne, Her Majesty has witnessed incredible change, and so did the nation she ruled over, but there was always a constant in her life: always by her side, Prince Philip was the man that offered her unconditional support and devotion. Through hardship and change, Elizabeth and Philip were inseparable for 73 years - their enduring love and unbreakable bond has been a staple of modern history.

As a Canadian I can not understand why the Queen was in error not rushing back to London to be with her people, she was with her grandsons comforting them, keeping them away from the press, meanwhile I saw the press rushing around the streets pushing their microphone in peoples faces asking “should the Queen be here with her people” it was the press riled up asking that stupid question. If it had happened to me I would want to be with my grandparents, away from the crying crowds, that never knew Diana as a person, all they knew was what they had read. Grandparents can sometimes be the only person you want around. 🇨🇦

I've said it once on RUclips and I'll say it again, during Prince Philip's funeral I would have broken Covid 19 rules to comfort Queen Elizabeth. I cried watching her sit all alone. It broke my heart 💔. He was the love of her life and she must have felt so alone.
I have done it ... broken Covid rules. My now 96 yr old grandfather was rushed to hospital so I dropped everything and went to his aid. My Nanna, the love of his life had passed in 2017 and before she had gone, I vowed to look after him for her. He still lives on his own, still has a full driver's license, but that day in the hospital he must have felt alone, so I took off my mask and my gloves and I held his hand in reassurance.
I've been an outstanding granddaughter. I'm waiting for a major surgery here in New Zealand, but through love, strength and determination I do not let the constant pain of Endometriosis stop me from being there for my grandfather.
RIP Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip! You are together now and I hope one day I will be able to meet you in both ❤❤❤

If the Queen had put out a public statement that they were staying at Balmoral to help the princes, the public would have understood. Silence was not the answer in this circumstance. Her whole commonwealth was grieving.

@@annettemalaski1967 so all the nation wanted was a verbal statement, the press were asking should the queen be here with her people, they all said “yes I think so” now how would her presence in London helped with their sorrow, she knew how they were feeling, but for the first time in her life she took care of her grandsons. The rest of the country didn’t even know Diana.
I’m not trying to be unkind it just the way the commonwealth say it, that the press was working the people up for no reason. I’m blaming the press for this whole mess.

I agree. It was just the press trying to use Diana to stir up one more controversy. And to be fair the royal family really had no say over anything with Diana's arrangements that was up to the executive of her will. Her brother Charles Spencer.
And honestly I do not think Diana would have approved of her boys being paraded around in the mist of their grief. What mother would want that. Im sure she would have been proud of them paying their respects to her but it could have been handled differently.
It was truly a lose lose situation for the royal family, had they stepped up more initially, they would have been accuse of using Diana after she was cast out. Even tho they still very much considered her a part of their family. The public was more concerned for their own grief than for that of her sons, and her family that were mourning. Was a ridiculous nonsense the lot of it.

Irrespective of titles, the marriage of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip was a true love story. That they were able to maintain that love in the face of their respective titles and duties is a testament to them both.

Philip found it hard to give up his life in the Navy and used to go off on his own for 6 months at a time. It is also rumoured he had affairs and very close relationships with other women and the Queen accepted it. Even when he retired from royal life they didn’t live together. They only reunited during lockdown.

While we all know that Queen Elizabeth wasn't born to be queen, even without the abdication, she would have become queen in the end (with a 20 year delay). If Edward viii had been able to marrying Wallace and keep the throne, the then Princess Elizabeth was next in line, unless they had children which we know they didn't...
