Glad you went to Hamura's Saimin, there is alot of other places in Kauai that serve Saimin but this is the best, Its not located in the best of area in fact years ago it was down right scary before they started to upgrade the area but still its off the main road and just about only locals know of its location. Old ladies still run the place and they make sure the quality is the same as the first day they opened Hamura's. I have not tried Smileys local grind yet.. will next time I visit Kauai.. I usually get my Kalua Pig at Pono's Market and get my Lau Lau which to me is the best at Leong's Meat Market and both are located in Kapaa..

@@finnybits Im sure there are other great places and new ones popping up every year and I still need try other places too but when i find a place that has the best of 1 kind of item I remember that place.. Im sure there are other places better than Pono Market for Kalua pig but have not found it yet, I guess it depends on how its prepared and what kind of smoke flavoring they use.. Leong's Meat Market when I went there 8 months ago I tried their Lau Lau and Kalua Pig.. as I said their Lau Lau was the best, smaller then normal size but flavor was 2nd to none. but their Kalua Pig didnt have any smoke flavoring.. I called back there once i tried their Kalua Pig and told them that what they served me was Carnitas but really good Mexican Carnitas, all i was missing was Tortillas.. but I told the kid who I saw taking my order when i was there like 20 mins b4.. I said " You have to make sure you dont forget the smoke flavoring.. like Mesquite " .. so I hope they took note and made sure of that.. but as I said I find 1 place that has that 1 item and that its ONO.. and NO Ka Oi... as for me will be going back to Kauai in 2025.. so have time to study my attack on places to try out.. Once again Love your Video.. makes me Home sick..
Thanks for watching!!! We visited during late January 2024, but the Kalalau Trail closes randomly due to the unpredictable Kauai weather that causes mudslides, flooding, and other dangerous conditions that would cause this cliff-side hike to be unsafe! Hope this helps! (:
Hello!! Thanks for watching (: We would give this experience a 9/10 overall! One of us sat in the front, with a tight fit but a great view (10/10) and the other sat in the middle with a nice view, but maybe one of the air vents weren’t working and got a bit airsick (8/10). We still believe it’s a great alternative to the popular helicopter ride though! Hope this helps and you guys have a great trip!!!
I also paid for my trip and car rental fully with Costco travel. Did they still put a hold on your credit card when you checked in? What about the car rental? Thanks for your time the video was great
Thanks for watching! I believe the hotel and car rental company did put a hold on our card during the stay and rental time. After the stay, I noticed a $600 charge from the ISO, so I called them and they mentioned it was a mistake. So it’s good practice to check your statements afterwards haha. Hope that helps!
