Amen Bro. Was part of that Jesus movement in the late 70's even went to Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa but the one in Downey was my home church when i was A Baby Christian. Praise God for ALL THOSE that directed us to The Lord !! HALLELUJAH !!!
I visited Calvary Chapel in July of 1973 and one of the things I love was the congregation I of youth did so many 2 part chorus that were beautiful. I wish there was a recording of that.
I am a 70's kid. I would hear people call them Hippie Jesus freaks but I thought they were amazing. We need Jesus, this world has gotten more wicked I don't recognize it.
My wife and i are Jesus hippies born in Holland and living in Spain. During the last 15 years we have only met a handful of Jesus people or Jesus that we can relate to. We don't feel attracted to most modern stuff from these end times and love this song!❤
that was not a peace symbol - back in the day it was very customary to lift up the index finger and point to heaven. It is a reflection of what Jesus said - Jn 14.6 - I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man comes to the Father, but thru Him. It is known as the ONE-WAY to Heaven sign
while they were always around, i don't think in this particular clip they are, doesn't look like Tomy Coomes, or Chuck Girard, or Jay Traux any of them. I am sure someone probably knows and can better identify who they were.
The band in that video is not Love Song, it's JOY, the first band to play at Calvary Chapel, before Lovesong even heard about it. I know this because I am the lead guitar player on the left, Scott Lockwood, next to me is Jim Golden, (who wrote the song), next to him is Dave Burgin and finally Bruce cotton is on bass.
I love hearing the songs and hearing from the people back in the day. I first went to Calvary in January 1970. I was saved a month earlier in a forest alone, because of God’s revelation to me. I didn’t know the Gospel so for 10 months I sought God by reading the Bible. Then that one day the Lord in his mercy answered my search. I went to three churches, each just once right after, because in my spirit, I felt something was missing or off. Then PRAISE GOD I went to Calvary, and I was home. I’ve only told this to a few people, because I was never asked.

God didn't create hell intended for humans. He gives us free will. If I transgress u would u be smiles and not angry? God's ways are higher than ours. Christ dies for us while we were still and continue to be rebellious ainners.

still love Jesus at age 65
That's a really beautiful song, and great preaching from Lonnie Frisbee - pure Gospel.
Jesus is still the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
I remember the band who sang this. It was called the "Joy Band". I was a "Jesus hippie"😊
As Chuck found out, Jesus loved and loves hippies too. Thanks for chiming in.
AMEN!
Amen, we all need Jesus!

Yes, it was a different time many do not understand today
@@servingjesussinnersavedbyg8456 we believe most young and modern people don't understand the words 'Jesus hippies'🤣
Great beginning!
Amen to The One & Only Amen!
Awesome Cap!
Where can I find it?
Blessed Hope.
the hat can be found online by most who sell Christian apparel
Thanks for this. I was wondering what this song was called.
"fish net coffee house”
Interesting - what purpose did a fish net serve ? (Just curious)
It was to remind us to fish for men for Christ
2:31 I’m just a little curious. Why those girls lifted up their hands at the end of the song? Were those peace signs ✌🏻 ?

@Scott Lockwood This is a great song Scott. Is there any way you could post the full lyrics? Would love to learn this one.
