I can't wait to get it out and try this again. What I have figured out from the comments, this video, and another video is that even in sport mode, the DCT shifts to 6th the moment the bike comes close to 100 mph in automatic mode and just sits there. Based on the way the bike pulls to that point I'm guessing 120 mph is possible.
Those DCT haters are just jealous! I've got the manual version and have complete respect for the DCT whether or not someone physically needs to be without clutch. I didn't go quite so far towards the red line as you for my 0 to 60... But your DCT smoked my time I'm pretty sure!!
See you understand how significant the DCT is. The majority of people don’t understand that DCT is performance first and foremost. It was engineered and designed for Formula 1. This first car to have it was a E46 BMW M3 and it was AWESOME. The whole “automatic” thing is secondary primarily done for marketing. The performance ceiling on the DCT is much higher than a manual. You practically have launch control at a stop light out competing a seasoned rider on a manual each and every time. M Series, AMGs, Porsches, Lambos Ferraris etc have DCT. The people stuck on manual motorcycles just don’t know enough about this racing transmission. It’s designed to shift in milliseconds and keep you in the highest possible powerband pushing you through the gears. DCT is way advanced on a motorcycle. Love my 1100 DCT
I love my Dct! I had a manual before but love this new technology!. Thank you for not being one sided. Your open minded, thank goodness. I hear the changing of the gears on this motorcycle more than mine. It flies! Love it. Cheers🇨🇦

I was a manual bike user but I shifted to dct last year and I'm loving it, it's much safer when I focus on the road and rather worried about changing gear with pressing clutch ag every turn , dct is easier and fun plus I started riding to feel the wind and the adrenaline rush not to shift gear
I don't want to ruin it, but guess below in the comments how fast you think the 2021 Rebel 1100 goes. This was done in sport mode and automatic. Guess the top speed in the comments below. I will say, I was a bit surprised. Top Speed run starts at 16:00 in. Update: So, it would seem 6th gear on this bike is an overdrive gear for maximum gas mileage. The bike upshifts very early into 6th even with a pinned throttle. You can see this on the video. Ultimately, 5th gear needs to be wound out to achieve top speed. So next week I will return to my secret test grounds in Mexico to test this.

This speed limits seems to be on purpose. Your dealer may be able to flash your ecu to remove it. I just don’t know of the official dealers are allowed to do it. It might be worth asking tho.
This makes no sense. An overdrive gear doesn't limit your speed. It like any gear changes your ratios and allows you to accelerate within the engines rev range. This bike is being limited somehow. Theres no way an 1100 cc motor can't do over 100mph
An overdrive will limit your speed if it prevents the engine from getting into the powerband. Many vehicles cannot reach their maximum velocity in top gear.
@@raceboy1971 are you lugging your engine? Cause unless you have a high load due to weight or slope even in a low rpm the 6th gear will still allow you to accelerate and reach a higher speed than 5th gear. You can get up to speed better in 5th but you will max out in 6th
