Renan Muniz from Brittany Howard, who ironically never had a vocal or guitar lesson in her entire life. 💯natural, god given talent. And that is phenomenal, a beauty rarely beheld.
@@rebeccahopkins9522 No god has ever given talent like that to somebody. Ms. Howard has worked diligently for many years to develop her talent. She also has had many people help her along the way; just look at how many musicians she had helping her on the Austin City Limits stage (and probably that many technicians offstage) on the night they made this video.
Brittany’s dynamics, vocals, musicianship and solo technique/feel is Second To NONE here! Hats off to her backup singer here too! David Gilmore & Brittany could easily & seamlessly switch places as lead guitarists in each other’s bands with this kind of organic and natural feel! Brittney is definitely one of the worlds best living singer/songwriter/musicians alive today! Absolutely Stellar!!
SalmonInYour Rice I agree. She emotes so purely and spiritually from her heart that it's like confidence isn't even really needed. But I know what you mean, she's amazing and so are the entire band. They play very well and very tight live.... which takes either Natural connection or a Lot of rehearsals. Peace :)
SalmonInYour Rice don’t think it’s confidence that’s giving this. It’s a losing of oneself in the music and going to almost another world, to where there is no stage at all. Notice how her eyes are closed when she sings. She’s having a soul experience up there. And that’s precisely why it touches our souls when she sings. She’s stated many times she has horrible stage fright and I think that her ability to get lost in the music like that is what enables her to get up there in the first place.
WhenTheWindigoComes I agree with you. It’s something other than confidence. It’s a soul connection. And the band is phenomenal as well and they all do have a natural connection. That organist is pretty bad ass. He really gets down. Don’t see or hear much organ these days. Such a potent and great throwback to the days of The Doors and Zeppelin’s John Pall Hones. Just love it.
Anyone familiar with Radiohead might drawn similarities between this song and "Blow Out": both have a very funky, heavy, druggy vibe, and both are very experimental and a significant departure from the band's usual sound. This song is, frankly, astounding: wonderful mood and blending of sounds.
come on man..this song is on another level not taking anything from Radiohead but comparing blow out to this is like putting a screendoor on a submarine
she is controlling the band...what you are feeling is the energy she is sending out..be thankful cause this euphoria your experiencing people pay money to experience
remember hearing this for the first time at shaky knees in atlanta like back in 2013/14, just had my jaw dropped and eyes wide the entire song. so explosive and such passion, as always by brit and gang. many years later, just came back to this song, and have those same feelings now. always so good.
Hope I'm not driving you crazy with some great music( i think) I don't watch too much tv,I enjoy music all my life. My escape from the harsh reality of what had happened to love and respect for each other, helping each other anyway we could. My heartfeltThanks Dorothy 👌
Brenda Diego Herrera. I've been listening since 2012/13 when they came into my view. It's been amazing ever since. Welcome to the fold. We're glad you're here
dar diez ciclos de vida y volver y volver y cada ves pasar por lo bello del juego musical , escucharles denuevo es Jalea Real para el alma!!! gracias por sus regalos...
Jville78- Actually, I hear them on the radio at least once a day where I live here in California. Not sure where you live but you are listening to the wrong radio stations, apparently.
Heath Fogg “A lot of people miss the point about what’s great about Brittany, she’s an expressive, extremely musical person, and one of her best qualities is her guitar playing. She’s fearless and very melodic…” true
When black women rock. We rock hard as hell🔥🔥🔥🔥. love her
Who cares about the color?
It is not a musical performance. It is a musical lesson.
Renan Muniz this is a master class. Prince could only do this better.

Bruh, you ain’t lied!
Massive shout-out to the back-up singer too though!
Yeah, he compliments the vocals nicely. subtle but makes a difference.
Can' t get enough
yeah..i think he is a key to the enchantment
Thari Codrington i
I always wondered how they would pull that effect off live.

Her voice reaches right to your soul

Man where I have been as much I love music!!!!
This live performance is mesmerizing and Brittany Howard is spectacular!
"And I reached for you like a child would do" ouch..line gets me every time.
+Dick Steele why...? what does it mean to you? very interested...
Letting him know she needed him so much..like a child that clings..but she had to leave and let him go
probably my favorite song by them. so fuckin great

How can anybody be this AMAZING on stage?
This woman and band are channeling so many styles and performers, living and dead, that it's like listening to a kind of rock gumbo.
It’s crazy how when she sings, her voice grabs your heart. Amazing how her guitar solos express so much emotion as well.
She sings with her whole body
damn...this music moved me. it honestly touched me in ways I haven't been in a long time. like reading a love note from a long lost love.
she is controlling the band...what you are feeling is the energy she is sending out..be thankful cause this euphoria your experiencing people pay money to experience
this woman is a walking vibe.. 🙌🏼🙌🏼 The feels are too real 😩
Seven years ago but I’m today years old witnessing this for the first time! Who the what the ! 🙀

Man, this song took me to faraway places.

That guitar solo is really out of this world -- just amazing.
Most powerful voice of 2015!
Been listening to Alabama shakes for years.. played their music in a upscale bar I used to own, believe me when I say music makes the place.
So soulful. Flawless voice.
One of their most jazz soaked songs. Just lovely.
Brittany Howard is an inspiration for her guitar work. That solo brings me to tears every time.
I met her and the bass player in a Nashville Mall (2016)....WOW, she was very nice.
Excellent performance and that backup singer was on point!
gorgeous woman and gorgeous Gibson SG she's playing like a goddess.

Those harmonies are...other-worldly
Who is this voluptuous goddess? Damn.
I like this live version better than the auto tune version on the album. Great use of the back up singer. Love, love, love.
missnyrap though, the album was definitely not autotuned
