Someone during Christmas week a few years back bid $99 on the first item & it was $26. Someone also bid $70 on the first item (a $19 bottle opener). For record making history $850 guess on a $23 childs' musical instrument ukelele ($827 off on the first item & Bob gave the guy 2 extra chances to correct his mistake - first guess was $700, second guess was $900 & Bob gave one more chance & contestant said $850). Bob at one while "yodely guy Sven" was climbing the mountain Bob said "Just get him on up there we all know where he's heading" & revealed the $23 which was a difference of $827.
It is SO important not to overbid on Cliffhangers, and almost every person loses precisely for that reason. Remember, you need to think in a RANGE, and conscientious UNDERBIDDING actually WORKS as a straregy here! (For example, if you have something cheap-looking and ridiculous like a hand-cranked donut counter, whixh nobody in their right mind would pay actual price of $12 for, you are better off putting in a ZERO, and being penalized 12 yodels, than bidding $35 off the bat and basically blowing all your Swiss capital ... I’ve seen so many players burned that way!) Have to say, if I didn’t get to play Plinko (everyone wants to, but I’d probably be happy just doing it backstage if I had the chance) this would be my game of choice. Or maybe Rat Race, now that I think of it. With Bob Barker, I would have LOVED to have taken a putt, however... I may not be good at all on a hairy five-par tee-off, out on a REAL golf course, and I’m more likely to slice than anything else.... But I’m a great putter, I really am.

Why go on this show if you do not have the capacity to give a price on an item-- how foolish --you would think people crawled out from under a rock--- duhhhh. Just give a price, it is not rocket science---
