Her French voice is sexy.
The Japanese voice actress carried this character. For all I could say about Lamat, I think her JP VA did her best with what she was given.
Why does the English version sound completely out of place? The VA's voice sounds so flat and uninteresting, as if they're reading a script for the first time. I don't even speak the other languages, but you can easily hear how much more emotion and effort they put into their lines. Very disappointing.
Japanese one sounds like a girl, even more immersion breaking.

I have to say Tobli in English and Japanese captured the exact same energy. French Tobli sounds extra devious. The german one tho... It felt very different, very 'cut to the chase' and definitelly different from what the text says ^^;

I don't think it's her voice but the audio recording for the english voice feels so out of place. Like it's someone narrating the scene instead of being in it.

The EN VA for Wuk really dropped the ball in this role. It's really quite bad.
It isn't that bad, it is just when they need to exaggerate the voice it is pretty bad.

see I like her voice quite a lot, I honestly don't get all the people harping on it
however I SWEAR the audio quality around it feels almost like she was recorded in a tangibly different space
kinda reminds me of some of the ARR voices where I was just like "can I... hear the recording booth space right now?" lmao
English dubbers mostly record their voices alone, while they can't even see the scenes playing, so they don't know the context and that makes them sounded out of place.
Japanese VAs record things in group and they watch the scenes while voicing.
The American dubbing industry will always be amateurish and garbage for decades to come. They're just bad, unorganized, and being overpaid for the quality of works they're doing.
That's because in Western animation the voice actor will make recordings before the animation to animate the lip sync of the characters. Japanese rarely lip sync the characters and the character mouths are animated like goldfish breathing.
This was recorded in the UK from what I know tho.

Hire the worst VA in the whole story so far and so much of the DLC involves babysitting that specific character

I don't see any issue with Wuk Lamat's English Voice Actress. Remember if the person behind the booth thought this wasn't good enough, they wouldn't use it. Wuk is suppose to be a soft hearted, overflowing with kindness type of lady. I hate the fact people who do hate her voice always go to "its a guy behind the voice" as the reason. Sounds really transphobic as this game is gay as hell. She isn't suppose to be a sexy amazon warrior, she's an adult with child like wonder.
