Just a heads up to peeps, The lower your blast radius on Mountain Top the higher your damage and if you get a blast radius master work DELETE it because your just making your damage lower if you upgrade a blast radius masterwork. P.S. Your best bet would be Hard Launch and Implosion Rounds to lower your blast radius by -15, someone did the math and it turns out to be about 4% increase in damage over Spike Grenades with -15 blast radius.
I'm going for Spike/Sticky in 2nd column, ALH/Impulse Amplifier in 3rd column, and Recombination/Vorpal in the 4th column. I plan on using ALH/Recombination for low-mid tier content so I can both chain rocket jumps together for movement without having to reload and so I can have a double damage shot ready almost at all times to nuke a mini-boss or a champion and immediately move on. Worst case scenario, I have to either reload and shoot another shot or I have to use a little bit of Eager ammo to finish off a higher health enemy. For anything that requires some damage output, I'll swap over to Vorpal. In the event that there's a boss that doesn't have a very demanding amount of health and I don't feel like swapping off an Eager sword, I'll swap over to Impulse Amplifier instead of ALH.
Impulse Amplifier is more of a multiplier on the actual projectile velocity rather than a stat buff to it, you will still gain full benefits even at 100 velocity stat, d2foundry even reflects this if you click to see "damage profile" on any weapon with Impulse Amplifier except for bows and Mountaintop funnily enough, I'm assuming thats because its brand new to it and hasnt been tested or updated but other weapons will show it just fine.

Got a roll with quick launch, spike, impulse, frenzy and handling mw. I'm done farming already, it shoots so increible fast. Got recombination as well if need be
for me it will most likely be overflow+frenzy. enhanced overflow will give it +120% magazine, maxing out at 3 in the magazine when it's active, and then frenzy will give a boost for a quick 4th shot
i got an auto-loading + harmony shiny drop, its really good for getting rid of orange/yellow bars in onslaught, didnt test it in pvp yet, also with sticky nades if you put them on a vertical wall behind you it launches you like eager edge
I didn't get the old mountain top so it feels kinda off to me but I also have no clue what to look for since I need help lol like a wave frame helps me

i think it’s high velocity but it’s whichever mag peek that brings down blast radius. blast radius is tied to the damage of the shot and so lowering it actually outputs more damage than having spike nades. it’s very low but just technically speaking🤓☝️💀
I have that exact roll, non-shiny though, but it does have both spike and sticky. The best shiny I got has ambitious assisian/autoloading, recombination/vorpal, spike/implosion, hard/quick launch and a velocity mw.
Alright, I got a roll with Spike/Impulse Amplifier and it was cooking. I was lucky enough to get another but with Vorpal but it’s not shiny. Being able to blast enemies up close while being booped away is my favorite part of Mountaintop.
@Skarrow9 you're better off using implosion rounds instead of spike, it gives a slightly higher damage per shot so long as you don't have a blast radius increasing barrel
First real shiny: LFG/Impulse and Vorpal/Frenzy and spike or sticky. I think im set 😅 I loved running Mountaintop in PvE then in Splicer i got a similar Ignition Code for the same usecase.
do people not realise frenzy is a must on this weapon due to its low self damage.. you will be flying around shotting/hitting yourself every 3 seconds frenzy will activate before you are actually in combat due to the self damage
Sure frenzy is nice for that reason you stated as well as the reload/handling buffs(which the weapon already has high stats of), but vorpal is also 15% as a special, no extra "strings" attached, will always be up no matter what... That and the fact the wep has super high base stats pretty much is why it's not being mentioned as much. That being said, you really cant go wrong with whatever you want, so many good perks on this and definitely going to be attuned to mountaintop for a while for me!
@@roadblock99 ok but its the same damage boost but extra stats and unlike other weapons you are literally encouraged to self damage for the movement in 6 seconds as long as you are using the grenade to jump you are receiving small damage making frenzy activate it will always be active in PVP and PVE unless you dont use the grenade jump at all the extra reload speed is gonna be very nice
i feel like spike + impulse + harmony (cz harmony is always on while killing with other weapons, then u switch to mountain bamm you have 20% buff to all enemy in that case orange and yellow bars)
I think you nailed it here mate. Everyone is going on about Recombination and ALH, but this is the true god roll for me too. Impulse Amplifier is criminally slept on and Vorpal just gives that dependability and consistancy when paired with it. ALH and Vorpal would be good too, but I do agree that Impulse pips it. I have 480 trophies saved, so when I get home later I'm gonna hope the RNG gods favor me when I cash them all in. Fingers crossed!
i really dont see why one would go with vorpal over frenzy, there are so few scenarios where vorpal triggers and you wouldnt also have frenzy active, plus all the benefits of frenzy

yeah but if u think about it i may be wrong tho reco gives you 100% damage bonus that one shot gives you a head-start to vorpal which you ll need about 6-7 shots to match that one shot damage of reco. But again i may be wrong tho or just dumb
@@JustGaming24 it depends what you need it for. Burst damage where you can stack those up or sustained swap damage over a 30 second window. If it’s sustained damage, like Rhulk or Warpriest, I think you’ll want vorpal. If it’s burst, like explicator or sanctified mind, you’ll probably want the recomb.

I got that exact roll and did not like it, vorpal kinda just sucks, frenzy was a lot nicer because i could do more damage against everything and not just bosses, especially those majors in legend onslaught
Recomb is the go to for dmg. You gotta do like 7 shots before vorpal is worth more than recomb. Additionally just kill 2-3 adds with something like sunshot during dmg rotation and you got yourself a 20-30% dmg buff
Not really though because what if you want to just keep using mountaintop instead of constantly swapping. That's where fast reload is gonna be nice. Even overflow is kinda nice being able to shoot 2 in one go. Obviously not the optimal one but it's not like auto is a complete non choice

Ambitious or overflow better for chunk damage than auto with recom you can almost kill a champ in 2 shots super quick gets them low enough to finish
You wont be one shotting champs thats why impulse would be better

been absolutely loving mountaintop as a major chonking legendary with a side of decent add clear. it just does so much

I got auto loading recombination today barrels and magazines could have been better but it just charges up one big shot that kills most things

That sticky-impulse-harmony is the pvp roll im chasing for. I've got a spike ALH+reco roll that is now my pve workhorse
First drop was a shiny with quick launch, spike/sticky, impulse/overflow, and vorpal/recomb. Just wish it had handling MW instead of Velocity.

I think recombination is a copium roll. It only works on one shot and the rest of the phase is 0% damage bonus. I think vorpal or frenzy is the go to.
