As has been said hundreds of times, these Tom Talks are the best! Your details are the best on the internet! We are headed to northern Minnesota the end of May and will use your tips. Thanks for your honesty and dedication. Love these but, look forward to your fishing videos also. Keep it up we can’t get enough Tom!!!
I live in Red Wing n last year was a great success local waters n I've learnt so much watching ur videos n can't wait get out soon !! Thanks Tom n to ur channel on RUclips much appreciated n u show technics best !!!
Detroit River current is strong. 1/2 oz will not get bottoms, and the walleye like 👍🏾 bait fish like minnows, shad and worms… but we use 3/4, 1 oz jig heads with extra large eyes. Many snags in the rocks…. Must use leaders because braid will get you frustrated and cutting line. Use 10-12# braid with 6-8# fluorocarbon line with a barrel swivel. Last 5 years we were never skunked. Limiting out in less than 2 hours drifting this spring. Detroit River has boats every 100 yards… you will see boats from Trenton power plant across river to Canada Lexington.
Bro u r the best absolutely #1 on RUclips been watching you for years although this is my first comment you give absolutely more imfo about fishing f the different jigs😅what equipment is best and how to fish them. Keep up the good work.
Great tips as usual! I am normally a bass fisherman. But I have been bit by the walleye bug.. I have learned a ton watching your videos. And have caught a ton of giant walleye this year using your tips. I’m from Cincinnati Ohio, so the walleye fishing, is not the greatest in this area. But this spring I have caught 5 pound 6 pound 7 pound walleyes. And I didn’t even know the fish got that big in my area. 26, 27 inch fish. Love your channel, and I definitely take your information to the lake with me. Keep up with the good videos.
I just snagged some kalins tickle tail jerk minnows, I'm super excited to try them. Also this channel has cost me hundreds of dollars in swimbaits and jerk minnows
Best Mississippi spring walleye setup, buck tail fly, 3 way swivel, off bottom. Imitating a darting minnow. Always the go to staple. Caught more walleye by far on this setup than any other lure or live bait.
Tom, can you do a vid on transducer placement on your boat, also some info on using multiple sd cards in helix units, info on what cards you use,ie, lake master and zero lines card, how to save info etc Thanks
Enjoyed this video. Lots of food info here. Tried and had luck with the tickle tails last year. Liked the explanation of the triggering and use of the jigs.
So Tom I've been searching for the V-rod blade bait since it came out and have been to Hayward Bait and Tackle, Anglers All Ashland, River Rock Ashland, L&M Fleet in both Hawyard and Ashland, Fleet Farm in both Duluth , Stevens Point and Marshfield, Marine General Duluth, Fishermans Corner Twig, Ace Hardware Wisconsin Rapids, Ross's Sport Shop Phillips and have only found a very limited selection of these lures if I find any at all. I've used many different kinds of blades over the years and really wanted to get a few of these in the 57chev color and the clown and they just couldn't be found. I've been frustrated but haven't given up and then I see in this video that you have like 100 of these lures. I guess that might explain why I can't find any. Just kiddin' but I do have to wonder why Acme creates so much buzz about a lure and then fail to get an adequate supply out there. Same thing with the hyper rattle. What kind of business plan does that? Hey Acme get some product out there OK!!!
Thanks for sharing it Tom. Much appreciated. Could you please share your recommendations for night time colors for swimbait and jerk minnow? Many thanks
Tom, do you offer a service whereby we give you a Wisconsin lake on Navionics that we’re going to fish, what days and the water temp, and based on that information, you look at the lake map and provide direction on key locations to fish?
I love your videos! Have you ever fished western deep reservoirs? I don’t get to fish as I like, most people don’t. I would love to hear how you would approach some of these waters?
Tom...always enjoy watching you! My goal for this year is to become more knowledgeable using my HB Helix units. Can you suggest any other HB Helix videos that drill down in more detail to educate. TU.
Tom, I have been waiting for months to order an Elliot open water rod. For months the website has said available midMarch, but there is nothing there. It is time to start the new fishing season......should I keep waiting or should I go somewhere else or?
Had the same issue with Elliot rods. They responded back and told me all stock will go to dealers. Trouble is their dealer locator does not work ..... gives a syntax error. How are we supposed to find, let alone buy these rods? Tom, can you talk to these folks? They’re not listening to their customers .... hard to buy when nothing on website and dealer locator is down.
Thanks for the good video Tom. I started using the scatter raps a couple years ago but have trouble with the bills breaking off of them. I haven't had that problem with any of the other lures that I use and I don't know if you're doing something special to them or what.
Another great video. Super informative on the baits. Very helpful since there’s so much out there to choose from and it’s good to see from someone whose successful with all these baits. I’d like to hear your thoughts on downriggers I’ve never seen you fish with a downrigger. Do you use them? Let us know. Hooked Up Fish On !
my buddy and I know how to fish, but still have a lot to learn. Going to be up at our cabin on two sisters lake at the end of the month for opening week. we are starting a channel and have no idea what were doing. Free invite if you want to show up and teach us a few things! lmao but seriously tho...
Tom, do you exclusively use spinning reels or are there any instances or applications in which you’ll use a casting reel? Any recommendations for a Piscifun casting reel?
