Brother Robbie, becoming a Muslim means:
      1) You believe with all your heart that the Creator of the universe and everything within and without is the One and Only Creator, (God in English and Allah in Arabic)....and
      2) You believe that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the last of the long line of Prophets (messengers of God which started with Adam..done the line to Moses...Jesus.... and lastly Muhammad) is the servant and Messenger of Allah (God)
      3. This gives you the ticket out of hell to God's paradise. The rest of the commands and prohibitions of God - you try your best to perform and refrain (God doesn't demand perfection). If you stumble just ask Allah to forgive you and He is very, very forgiving and try again.

MashaAllah I'm also a white British revert.. I loved listening to your story. apart from the circumstances to why you learned about Islam after that was pretty much the same as me.. I smiled many times through your video. I have a thirst to learn more and more everyday. I also started reading about our prophet pbuh and I absolutely could not stop crying. his thoughts his actions his love for nature and animals and ways of charity. The last and perfect prophet.

ahmed z No. Learning Arabic is not rewarding but reading the Quran is rewarding. You don't need to learn Arabic to read the Quran, but some of the English Qurans are written by Non-Muslims or Ex-Muslims that don't want to be a Muslim but they know Allah, [God] is real. So learning Arabic is good but it's not rewarding. I am Arabic too. And it's not rewarding, the English Muslims don't get rewards for learning Arabic, nor do Arabs get rewards for learning English. English Muslims and every other Muslims that aren't Arabic, are the same as Arabic Muslims

:) I did not mean rewarding as in "jaza" but rewarding as in .. self fulfilment.
I agree God guide who he wills. No matter what and how much some one has learned.

I love when you talk about prayer and touching your head to the floor. Before I began my conversion I always felt so disconnected from EVERYTHING! I have always loved nature, but living in the world we live in today, I felt so far away from creation itself. The acts of praying help me remember I am literally a part of this earth and I'm connected to everything Allah(SWT) has created:)

.....it was actually many non-Saudi's that inspired me and help teach me about Islam, Saudi is a country with many nationalities living here. As for getting out of Saudi, I've been traveling all my life and lived and worked in many amazing and beautiful places - especially if I could surf or snowboard there! Only 20% of Muslims are Arabs so I know that Saudi is not the only the place but I have a great life here, it's safe, easy going and I meet great people. As for Islam.......you just know!

Thanx Don. I especially enjoyed listening to your “spiritual” moment in the loo! I know what you must have felt then. Once on my first visit to the Prophet’s Masjid in Madinah and after the morning prayer, I had remained seated, doing zikir when I suddenly felt a huge weight was about to burst through my chest, and then I just wept uncontrollably! When I had collected myself and stepped out of the Masjid, I felt “high”, light, feeling like a huge load had been lifted off me. Salam bro!

Hi, thanks for taking time to watch the video and not bashing me too hard - LOL. When I cam to Saudi I was very uneducated about the country and the region and embarrassed that the movie 'The Kingdom' was all I knew about the place. It wasn't that Saudi was not as expected that opened my eyes a little, it was the fact that all the people here had something about them that intrigued me - it was their religion and the positive way it was involved in their lives. P.S - Jason Newstead does rock!

Thank you for sharing, that feeling ... you were in a state of bliss, I had one too.
One day you may be in an opposite side of feeling called a station of fear, I had one too, this one is really scary... You would experience both and you will have a balance in your life.
    Salaam

akrah-ay-dean dear friend akrah-ay-dean If this man decides to leave islam for another religion or something nothing will happen. It will be his own choice. Not a single human being can judge this man for his action. I hope I answered youre question. and if you have more question just contact me

May Allah bless you brother. I was born Muslim but didn't practice for most of my life. I wasn't happy and searched for meaning . I begged Allah to show me the way, and he did. He opened my heart to Islam. After embracing Islam, Allah (SWT) instilled a light in my heart that I will never put out. After researching the true meaning of Islam I have realised that Allah is what every human yearns for, its not money, beauty or fast cars. May Allah keep us all on the right path inshallah!
