praying for you and your foot injury. glad you mentioned something about a fund for these kind of developments. I work in finance and my dream is to start a REIT that focuses on classical architecture

I just discovered Building Culture recently, but what you talk about in this video is uncannily similar to what I have been wondering for years (as someone not at all in construction or real estate): how to make quality new builds make sense financially. It breaks my heart to see the prices of great (old) buildings go up and up and nothing being done to expand the supply. The car vs. housing appraisal comparison was great to understand what's going on. The economics are fascinating.
Something that also struck a chord: working with constraints for the greater goal of purpose. Really inspirational!
    Happy new year!

It is really sad to see where prices are going! Just becoming unattainable for so many people. But, also lots of people out there working on the problem, too. So we have lots of energy and optimism about it all-but are having to change tactics!

You’re an inspiration Austin! Your faith, your attention to purpose is what will make your business such a successful or at least meaningful endeavor.
I don’t know if this is a good thing or not, but someday you’ll probably look back at that foot injury and realize just how minor of a setback it was compared to what else your life has in store for you lol. But that’s okay. If God gives us obstacles in life, they’re there for a reason. Live your best in those moments and learn from them. Canes can be cool! Especially if they’re made of brick 😎
I hope to work with you someday at Building Culture!! As soon as you start offering apprenticeships I’m signing up! Thanks for all you do.

Perhaps you could use a break? I'm sure that's easier said than done, but a bit of distance from B.C. proper to focus on ideation for this next phase / pivot might help.

Thankfully we are stepping into more design + development, so will continue iterating on construction! Gonna be a long game but we’re here for it.

Really appreciate that man! Has its ups and downs for sure…but if we can keep it overall going upward? That’s what it’s about!
