Not since Patsy Cline’s “Crazy” have I heard such behind the beat singing. Absolutely magnificent. Sounds like the Baroque Blues!! The mistake so many people make with Baroque music is thinking it should be metronomic. The fluidity here is marvellous and so spontaneous. Massive JJ Orlinski fan!
Those who think that Baroque music must be metronomic are totally wrong. Preparing for, and achieving long notes (sounds) will never be metronomic if someone has some musicality. Long notes are so important in slow melodies (especially when singing). Apart from that, actually this music gives performers a lot of freedom depending on their imagination.
