growing up in the late 70's, early 80's a friend of mine had 3 Pachinko mounted on the wall in his garage. His mom would hand us an anodized aluminum cup full of balls and send all of us out to the garage. . Then we would go out and play for a few hours. Back then when neighborhood moms would trade of kid watching duty's in the summer.

A few of my childhood friends had machines at their houses - all bought in the mid to late 70's - and none of them worked. Either the machine didn't do anything or one of the boys in the house had shot all the balls from his wrist rocket.

@@SevensPinballorama Wrist Rockets and the metal balls, we did that too :) I think the key to keeping them working was filling the top hopper

“Waa shinjirare nai machigai nai pachinko desu!!!” You know one of my favorite pinball stories of all time will always be when I tried to explain to my Japanese brother in law my love of pinball…and he thought I was talking about pachinko…..and I have a gambling problem 😵😵😵

@@SevensPinballorama thank you, such a cool addition to your arcade! You know I always wonder if the Japanese were into pinball what kind of machines they would make? Super crossing my fingers they would not be making “Hello Pinball🐱” if you know what I mean!

@JustinMBailey - I've wondered that myself. It would probably be super crazy and loud. It seems like pinball is kind of out of the culture in Japan. There is a youtube channel I follow of a Japanese guy who's probably in his 30's making videos around Japan - staying in capsule hotels, visiting cat cafes, etc. He stumbles across a proper pinball machine and doesn't understand it at all.

I keep meaning to put a clip of this in one of my videos because it's kind of cute.

@@SevensPinballorama yeah I’ve always been surprised pinball never clicked over there, thank you for sharing the clip. Japanese vending machines always give me a good feeling and not just the beer ones🍺
