@@slippinjimmy6997 because its really crowded on Saturdays (some sellers even raise the price) and fresh stock comes at Tuesdays (for certain items like scallops, class, etc)
This is where the local fishmonger would buy hes fish from which they would then sell for a higher amount than they paid ,for profit. Cut out the middle man, go to billingsgate
I've been meaning to go there for the past 10-15 years, still haven't LOL! All foreigners there it seems. How much is a big seabass I'm talking about a single 800 grams or 1kg+ size fish? Anyone know? Cheers!
Been there , just got ripped off by a seller with 2 almost rotten fish , will go back tomorrow to see if I can complain. Lots of old crappy fish they kept washing down and lots of frozen... smells like a mortuary too.
If that’s too expensive just don’t buy fish. Pretty much the cheapest prices of fish you’ll get in the uk, unless you want to order 100 metric tons of frozen tilapia from Vietnam...
Empty stands at Billingsgate telks you a lot about the state of this once great fish market

Always buy on a Tues. Never on a Saturday.
