Izzy if you have Napoleon total war I can recommend the Great War total war mod, I really enjoy it and it is very different from what we usually see on this channel.
I'm finding a shattered alliance run far more enjoyable until I learn how to script an event that makes rhun neutral to everyone except dol guldur/mordor (since you break off with the evil guys) so to represent the imperial ambition better. it has some bugs with mercenaries but seems to be alright so far

I'm looking at the scripts for khand and see if I can glue something to make rhun neutral to everyone and at war with mordor/dol guldur, to represnt their imperial ambitions better, we'll see but I doubt I have the knowledge for that yet xD.
You may wanna try the warhammer Beginning of the End times mod for med 2. Excellent models, great variety of troops and lots of races , many of which are similar to the ones in Lord of the Rings, Dwarves, high elves, wood elves, undead, vampires, humans, orcs etc
I still love your intro videos. It just reminds me of the history and lore videos for Game of Thrones. I also love the fact you have been watching Rampaned’s Reunited Kingdom Campaign Stream, who is one of my favorite total war RUclipsrs. Also I think you would do great with the GOT mods, especially if you do it as House Stark or House Targaryen. You could make it so that Jon Snow marries Daenerys, like they should have in the show. Though I should warn you to prepare for the White Walkers early on, so they don’t blitz through you.

I would suggest this: Leave for now the Dwarves and get towards Esgaroth and Dale from two directions, Sarthaq from the south, following Celduin, and Ja'Sur from the north, following the feet of the Iron Hills. Afterwards, in order to get rid of Erebor, put Ja'Sur just outside Kirikghathol and Sarthaq in Dale, so that you strike their two main cities with one hit. This will surely cripple them, as they are their main powermongers and you'll cut them down. Plus that, if the Orcs of Gundabad have marched forth towards Erebor, the Dwarves may have less towns than what we think, so with these two strikes you won't get their last stand army. Just a thought, though... Have a nice time.
I was more thinking of the period between middle ages to French Revolution, what you describe is what we call 'Nieuwste Tijd', so it goes from "New Times" to "Newest Times", we aren't very original come to think of it!

Also#2, I highly suggest going with your merchant southward, in the Haradrim lands, there's a silver mine that's worth a lot of money. And there's also less merchants around there, normally only one or two from Dol Amroth/Gondor.
If yo want to play different mods I advise you play vanilla beyond it adds a lot of new factions and ways to play, bullat steel its became even better since its last update and skyrim total war

The one request/demand i have for a Game of Thrones mod playthrough is, for the North! Especially if you can lead Eddard (Ned) Stark to ultimate victory and keep him alive. Reasoning: Met Sean Bean in real life, at a football stadium randomly as we support the same team. Fun fact: My best mates dad knew him from when Sean was a kid sneaking into bars underage, as he was the doorman throwing him out, which to the then 13 year old me was hilarious yet unbelievable. Got Sean Beans signature on my match program (magazine) and he wandered down a few more rows to the VIP seats behind the manager. So for my fellow bladesmen (football team nickname) and yorkshireman, FOR THE KING IN THE NORTH! Yes, i have met the mighty Boromir, he was not yet Eddard Stark yet.

In US we call that period of time Early Modern, which is from the end of the Renaissance to beginning of the age of revolutions.
