Happy Friday. This week's music-making video thing is called "Time To Go", and it's a chill jam with some extra visual pizazz. There’s so much beauty in this. I feel like I’m sinking into a sea of pleasant emotions and tossed around by the currents. Both the video and audio in this are perfection! The depth and attention to detail just keep going.
I listen to this almost on a daily basis. Right now - it's about half past three in the morning and I have some work left to do - this track calms me down, motivates me, makes me wiggle my butt in my chair (sorry for the picture in your head) and asks me to get my shit together and pull through with it. This language I just used was maybe a bit colloquial, but for me there is no other way to describe this song :P You rock! Thank you for having made it in the first place :)
This is actually my exact experience, too. I've been listening to this song on a daily basis since three weeks ago, and it's gotten me through some mucky work late at night.
Aaaand I'm back here once again :) (This has become my little workout song before I go to bed, I do all sorts of excercises while listening to this.) But I have to tell you something, Jeremy... I like this version much better than the processed one you uploaded on Soundcloud. I recently got a hold of a used Nord Lead A1 and absolutely love it. If you can, check it out, but please don't contract debts because I know you will fall in love with it. Now I fancy a Nord Stage 3, a Subsequent 37, the Strymon Dig, the New Analog Four and the Octatrack or maybe the Digitakt, but every time I thoroughly think about those awesome machines I keep getting back to your OP-1 tracks and the realization that I should rather invest my time developing some awesome skills like yours before thinking about investing in even more gear. Although I really love synth wave and your recently uploaded first track featuring the Bass Station II, I am wondering how a more intense song like "Infected Mushroom - The Pretender" would sound like if you laid your hands on it. The same thing goes for something very calm and relaxing. I have tons of songs to give you an impression of what I'm thinking about right now, but for now let's just go with "Xenosaga III - Abel's Ark" and "Atelier Iris 2 : The Azoth of Destiny - Empty Corridor". (Check out SupraDarky's channel if you haven't done that before, he's got a large collection of awesome video game music.) ... even thinking about it, I have so many song requests that I have no idea where to begin. But hey, every artist is glad about some inspiration every now and then, right? How about something groovy and slightly dark like "Vampire The Masquerade : Bloodlines - Vesuvius Nightclub"? Or one that requires you to deliver an awesome syncoped bass line (which I know you will rock as soon as Octocat catches on fire again), covered in a well fitting groove? "Einhänder - Earthlight". And last but not least a hip-hop earworm made by the sadly deceased Nujabes "Nujabes - Aruarian Dance". ... I'm overdoing this again, am I not? Well, read on just a little further, you've definitely earned yourself a treat for getting this far :) Jeremy, thank you for all your content. "This is really happening" - Yes it is and you're doing awesome at it, let no one tell you something different. Good night :D
It's a combination of the OP-1's internal synth and an instance of Absynth coming from Live, if I remember correctly. Wanted to make it feel thick and dreamy.
sunset over the ocean, a mai tai on the table, a girlfriend in your arms - pure contentedness. all those images in my head ... all from THIS track! my personal favourite now! :) this could as well be a track on a café del mar sampler, for sure! awesome work Jeremy!
Even after all these years ... this Track still hits me Jeremy! Such an awesome piece of music! Can i request a sequel to this track? Called "Time to Let Go" or something - with even more emotion? :-) No wait ... im not a Patron, so, bad Luck i guess?! ;-) Yet still, just saying - this is one of the best Tracks you ever did. It fits perfectly to my current situation man. Thanks!
This is killer. Streets ahead of guys with 10x the gear strewn all over their desks and about 1/10th your your musicality. I really dig the graphical elements , too!
Just bought man, seriously love this track. It's legitimately improved my life, I listen to it all the time. Keep everything up man, you make great work
This song and the video make me want to just go buy an op-1 and launchpad... But I also know that what I would produce would hurt people's feelings... New to your channel and I'm just blown away by you ability to put together sounds I like to hear and your editing skills... Top notch!
Love the track. It's relaxing, inspiring, motivating and much more. Not mainstream at all although it kind of sounds like it would be able to hit the charts ;) So in summary: Good job! Just like your other videos... But this one I really like :)
At my last job, one of the engineers I managed said it was a great device, and recommended I look at the OP1; Two jobs back, one of the customer support team told me (she's very musical by the way) that Teenage Engineering was a great company. Online, I saw some of my RUclips heroes playing with the OP-1; Daniel J Davis (Carl Sagan's Ghost) had some videos that were inspiring, and made me want to pursue live looping. TL;DR: It came highly recommended
It's that. Yes. It's got so much capability, it's heart and soul is built around "musicality"; every time I spend time with it, i get inspiration. The display is quirky and fun; the sounds are really clever and nearly unlimited. the unit itself is intuitive. the workflow is constrained and unrelenting (theres not much in the way of undo); and there's a limit to how many settings it'll save... but think of it as your own 4 track recording studio with a sampler, a drum machine, a few different digital synths, a few different sequencers. I treat it as my loop maker. And it's super easy to bounce tracks remix, etc - and connect it to a computer and you get all 4 tracks as a separate file, but also, you can create 2 songs that are the result of live playing and you get those too... so if you have a DAW, it is so easy. Any constraints it has can really just be chalked up to it's character as a device. Hope you find a way to try one out.
This video and song is what got me off my ass and making music again. I just want to say thank you. Also would love a video on sampling with the op-1. I just bought one and am slowly learning the ropes.
well is it just me that get the V A P O R W A V E vibe from MACINTOSH PLUS - リサフランク420 / 現代のコンピュー O______O actually it would be awesome if Red Means Recording (Jeremy) made a song based on V A P O R W A V E- P.S: Love your music and your style of making music and videos:P
I really wish I could sync the OP-1 to the LXR without a computer (or some other USB host MIDI thing). Definitely a dumb limitation of the OP-1. That said, they really are great together.
OP-1 kenobi
+moth t.v. haha
+Jeremy Leaird-Koch real talent right here !
Best comment ever.
Honeyball Lecter literally
It's over Anakin! I have the high sound.
Underrated song !!
Beginning sounds like it's gonna be some Macintosh plus 420
zackly what I was thinking -- same key I think --- whoops not the same key at all, my bad
same interval probably, different key. I heard it too!
7 yrs later and it’s Still underrated 🤯
Puff puff pass. Mind opening, spine electrifying, chilling beat
Forgot and rediscovered... still so good! Keep making tunes Jeremy.
True

***** It will be soon! I'm planning on putting all the jam videos from 2016 up in an album some time early next year.
***** awesome!
There’s so much beauty in this. I feel like I’m sinking into a sea of pleasant emotions and tossed around by the currents. Both the video and audio in this are perfection! The depth and attention to detail just keep going.
Love the angles and effects. Feels like a complete music video. Even if it was uploaded in 2015 it feels timeless.
Seriously one of my favorite tracks in recent memory. This and Airgonaut are delicious.
+STEALTHYFART ❤️❤️
This video in its entirety is a masterpiece

That synth coming from the OP-1 is stellar. Need to learn how to make sounds like that.

Masterpiece! Awesome job :D
Holy shit this is incredible
This video was one of two reasons I got an OP-1 - :-D
CHEERS!
What was the second reason?
At my last job, one of the engineers I managed said it was a great device, and recommended I look at the OP1; Two jobs back, one of the customer support team told me (she's very musical by the way) that Teenage Engineering was a great company. Online, I saw some of my RUclips heroes playing with the OP-1; Daniel J Davis (Carl Sagan's Ghost) had some videos that were inspiring, and made me want to pursue live looping.

Jack Schlotthauer Awesome, thanks. I assume you got it already - how is it? Looking for something quirky and interesting

You make it look so easy! But we know better! You are a verry tallented man.
Awesome. One of your beast
Bruh watching this slapped>>>>
love this, so chilling!!
what a jam!
This video and song is what got me off my ass and making music again. I just want to say thank you. Also would love a video on sampling with the op-1. I just bought one and am slowly learning the ropes.

well is it just me that get the V A P O R W A V E vibe from MACINTOSH PLUS - リサフランク420 / 現代のコンピュー O______O
actually it would be awesome if Red Means Recording (Jeremy) made a song based on V A P O R W A V E-
P.S: Love your music and your style of making music and videos:P
Very dope sample and nice vibes you gave to it.
very nice dude. I use an LXR and OP1 also, just got them together and thinking about the possibilities! this is great stuff!
I really wish I could sync the OP-1 to the LXR without a computer (or some other USB host MIDI thing). Definitely a dumb limitation of the OP-1. That said, they really are great together.
NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!!!!!!!!!! 💯💯💯
