That shot with the entire tree and the colour in the sky was amazing.

What an amazing break in the sky, those colours really changed the scene. Agree, patience does pay off.

That quarry is well worth visiting in the autumn. The golden yellow autumn leaves in the isolated trees contrast with the grey-blue slate. This is enhanced with low, soft light during November when the colours are at their peak.

I've seen that old quarry in a few videos on youtube, what is great is that every visit is from a different perspective, and, as usual, your approach was uniquely Ian... Great video, thanks, enjoyed every minute - and the sunset, worth the patience!

Intriguing place. I especially liked your suggestions about looking at the screen, then enlarging to hunt for long shots.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: For those who hasn't bought Ian's book yet really should. It's a GREAT read for anyone on any level of photography. Also, great video per usual Ian, love your adventures. I'd love to hear your thoughts on M4/3 and if you'd consider it as a main camera, as your mate Henry are somewhat doing 😊

Ha, some 40 years ago I lived on the hillside about half a mile from there. I walked the area but didn’t have the camera bug back then. It was a cottage in which your bones felt the change of each season!
