It's crazy because if Thomasin hadn't joked around like this her whole family may have survived. They delved into insanity and playing the blame game with one another because the twins really believed she was a witch.
@b the madness truly began when they started pointing fingers at one another, from there it just escalated. Considering the time they were living in it probably wasn't wise of thomasin to joke around about being a witch
@b I never said she was guilty or that it was her fault. She did nothing wrong, but that doesn't change the fact that her actions ultimately lit the flame of suspicion and paranoia that drove her family into madness.
Immy Dubby I’m not denying it’s incest. I’m not dying it’s gross and despicable. What I’m saying is it’s understandable that he’s noticing his older sister mature when he’s beginning to hit puberty and will begin to notice these things simply because of that.
There has been a monent when she noticed the boy is old enough to be enticed sexually.. she used that later in the movie when he got lost in the woods! Wierd and smart..
She's imitating the sound of the witch's broom bouncing off the treetops a she flies about the forest at night. The girl is also imitating the action as she darts about in the reeds, demonstrating to Thomasin. :)
In the screenplay the sound of the witch brushing against the branches when she was flying was "clickety clackety"... maybe she really did see the witch
@@PawsAndFinsNewsy There's this ongoing theme in the movie that whether the witch is really ailing them, or their sick paranoia and belief of her existence makes it manifest.
