No other actor (male or female) has successfully RULED the small screen for more a decade. That speaks volumes about her work. Ppl mention baaghi and Cheekh quite a lot but I feel Saba's work in Besharam, Main Sitara, Bunty I Love you, Ullu Baraye Farokht Nahi and more from that time deserves more and more appreciation. Her hysteric laughter in BILU in that private theatre, her last scene with Irsa Ghazal in UBFN send me chills even today 🔥 That's the impact she's made as an actor!
Main sitara is quite underrated
I agree people always mention her work in Cheekh, Baaghi but I personally liked her better in Ullu baraye farokht nahin, Main sitara, sannata, Maat, Hindi Medium etc. Baaghi and Cheekh became more popular because I guess the main character in these was of a strong willed woman played by Saba and were heroine centric characters. I'm looking forward to Kamli and Mohabbat ke naam as I feel those might be somewhat different roles and it would be interesting to see Saba play those. Additionally I would love to see her play roles like those of Meryl Streep and the likes. Central layered characters with vulnerabilities and not specifically heroic.

As much as I love Mahira, Saba in Hindi Medium was the BEST Pakistani debut in Bollywood.
I remember having gone to the theatre to watch the film and my mom is a fan of Saba since Maat. She was ridiculously good in Hindi Medium, especially the way she displayed her obsession of sending her child to this elitist school and competing with neighbours by throwing that party in which her husband embarrassed her.
We watched the movie on TV randomly when it was just released but totally forgot that i was watching a Pakistani actress in indian movie the acting was so great and flawless

I wish this was a longer interview because there is a lot that she has to share with her insights. She is such a genuine person and her work holds merit to that.
At the end of the day, as human beings our growth and maturity comes from learning from mistakes, from enduring challenges and owning ourselves with compassion and empathy.
It's only Allah who always knows the whole truth regarding anyone or any situation especially for judgement and we cannot assume that responsibility. Only Allah can know what everyone's journey has been and will be and we need to learn how to address issues and challenges that make us uncomfortable rather than pretend they are not there.
Loads of love and prayers for Saba and thank you so much for bringing her to us.

I am a huge Saba Qamar fan and the body of work she has done in the past and she does even now, I feel that she should own her work and her development more than she owes it to India and her one film experience, she has done great work even before India, someone who has closely followed her work would say she has become a little too loud after Hindi medium, as she says she owns project that she does she should know where to taper it down, I say this because I recently watch ullu baraye farokht nahe, she was not loud anywhere that was just saba qamar only her - no stanch back and face expressions, so doobofied in her role, she does not need to change for the sake of what goes around in the world, kudos to her for saying it out loud she is on antidepressants, I wish her good health and recovery but girl own your work like a charm, do not fall in the trends of the current world, you were a superstar and you are a superstar #adiehardsabaqamarfan

Probably the best actress in Pakistan! All of these channels need to do us viewers a favour and upload her older dramas. I need to watch Sannaata again and baaghi as well. Just watched digest writer and it was amazing as expected. I love how pure and how humble she is. Truly a future sania saeed in the making

I really had hoped Aamna would’ve enquired more about Serial Killer! But on this interview, I really liked when she mentioned how people have short memories and forget controversies. It’s actually true. There was a dialogue of a show I watched that said ‘logo ki nafrat mein bhi wafadari nahi hai’ - which means people aren’t even loyal with their hatred. So one day they’ll hate someone, the day after like them.
As always, loved how she expressed herself. Queen!

Honestly this was such a refreshing interview to watch. I love, love, love how she doesn't try to 'play safe' like most pakistani actors on interviews. She just straight up owns her opinions and perceptive. Makes everything she says seem more personal, genuine.

I think I have watched some two, three interviews of SQ, but Ms. Isani is the first one to do justice to the powerhouse lady in the interviewee’s chair. The questions were substantial, intellectual and interesting at the same time.
Saba is like a dream for any interviewer, because honestly, the way she is genuine and truthful in her responses, not many actors are. In that sense, she has a bona fide spirit like somebody from Hollywood. 😀

She’s fearless while choosing roles! It’s saddening that, Pak industry puts mediocre actors at a pedestal & calls them

Mahira was also excellent in Humsafar. So is Saba Qamar. But I think Saba is more of a method actor than Mahira. As in she has done all kinds of roles. Maybe because of her theatre background.
@@newsjunkieish Mahira was good in Humsafar & few other dramas, she did in her early years of her career.. she was raw & her restrained acting was beautiful to watch. But now, she’s so fidgety while acting, it looks bad onscreen. Her acting is repetitive, probably because she has always chosen similar roles, of a beaten & berated woman, of redemption etc..! She speaks of reforms & calls herself a feminist, but the dramas she chooses don’t match her claims! She’s a superstar with average/limited acting skills.

She is beyond phenomenal. Versatile, bold and brave unlike many like hira mani who is always picking up sick roles that put down women as doormats and senseless roles.
She brings her own charm to the drama. Loved bhaagi but the crown on her head so far is Mr. Mrs shameem. Excellent delivery, she rocked it as a careless young girl seeking live , a frustrated detached mom , an aloof wife , caring DIL. She transitioned between all these roles without any glitch and made it real.

I have to agree with you on this one. I feel like Saba qamar, sajal aly, iqra aziz and even Ayeza khan have proved their acting prowess in all types of roles. Whether it’s comedy, negative characters, heroine roles or gray characters, they’ve always nailed it. Mahira is also fantastic but her roles are very limited and similar in terms of acting range. She usually plays the roti, dhoti, forced in a cousin marriage heroine.

Watched the whole interview without skipping a second. She has evolved to be a really insightful person. However in the end, noman ejaz comment just put me off. I mean if he is your friend, you don't have to normalize his behavior kay 'bacha' ha. If he is a kid at this age I don't know how long will it take for him to grow up??

Saba is so interesting! I´m glad for once, the questions were about her acting process. I´m tired of hearing gossipy interviews like "What do you think about love?" and "How do you handle being a mother and an actor?" Like the horrible jaahil morning shows where they only ask about diets, marriage and scandals. Are?! It´s an actor, ask them about their CRAFT. I´m also gonna be brutally honest and say that I don´t particularly "like" her, but credit where credit´s due: Saba is easily among the best actors in the WORLD right now. She would give anyone a run for their money! I have a feeling that some production houses have their little sponsored favourites that we just can´t seem to get rid of, as they get ALL the projects...but Saba´s talent STILL shows up, and people know her despite her not being in every award show, in every party and invited to the big productions houses´wedding events cough cough...no names mentioned! Saba doesn´t seem to be the darling of the journalists either, like some stars who even these journalists seem to protect and promote. Most of these former fashion, magazine and T.V journalists are actually friends on a PERSONAL level with showbiz people, so I no longer trust them to be neutral. They have their own politics and friend-favours going on.
