Altos are cool and super underrated, and just because there appears to be more roles for sopranos or mezzos and such doesn't mean they're better than altos

For me it depends on the day and the song. For this I would say I'm an alto but on other songs like someone gets hurt I can sing it in the original key.

I love being an alto because I'm insecure about my voice. so when my teacher made me a soprano one year cause everyone hit puberty i was scared. though it was fun. i still see my self as a alto but I'm getting used to being a soprano. besides, altos get the best parts (my opinion). I do wish i could hit higher notes though. Just cause i have the title, doesn't mean i feel like i can do it. :(

Fellow altos- try singing this in your upper register. When I sang to the original version I found I was already transposing down to not blow my voice out, and then when I sang to this I was going too low. It might seem scary to start that high but it’s not going to be too high like the original.
