  • OrCam Read 3 is a ground-breaking new AI device that can read handwriting, summarise complex documents, and display large print.
Many people with low vision want to read all types of materials in multiple environments - at home, at work, at school, whilst shopping. Conventional electronic magnifiers are often bulky and confined to one room. There are portable electronic magnifiers, but their smaller screen size makes reading of longer documents tiring, and handwritten materials are often difficult to read.
In this webinar, Peter Cracknell introduced a significant leap forward in the OrCam range of hand-held devices that can not only read (text to speech) at any distance, but can also read handwritten text. In addition, the advanced OrCam Read 3 AI device can summarise complex documents such as restaurant menus, search for text by voice command, and even translate foreign language text into English, or vice versa. For people with low vision, the magnified and enhanced contrast print can be displayed on an iPad or laptop via wireless connection.
This webinar will be of interest to vision impaired people in all walks of life. It will also be of interest to allied health practitioners supporting their clients to be more independent at home, for example with reading notes in diaries and hand-written calendars, hand-written shopping lists, and all manner of printed materials such as medicine packaging, brochures, books and correspondence.
Zooming in on distant text or signage is often impossible, or tricky on small smartphone screens.
