Reba is phenomenal. Amazing performance
This was the best live performance I have ever seen of SOuth Pacific Reba should be on broadway!
Because that would be so much more lucrative than millions of record sales and touring ticket sales.
I loved the movie but this concert was phenomenal!
Reba McEntire is a natural.
Robbie Hagberg do it tomorrow at the same time as I get better soon and I can go with you to do it for me to come over and get it tomorrow and I can 🥫 go to the
Just wonderful. The audience tells you.
The story is two Fabulous
Loves, different times,
Young couple, And one
Older man with younger
Children. Beautiful story,
Beautiful music and
Songs will take you for
A joyous ride of happiness
And sadness.
I love this film. Saw many
Times. Must watch
Indeed. I saw it in 1958 in Sydney, Australia. My mum took me. I have not been the same since. Seriously. I ended up as a commercial pilot in New Guinea, a New Guinea son and now a Chinese wife (thanks to Liat/France Nuyen). Sheesh...
I wish it had ran longer than it did. I would love to have had the chance to see it in person.
priceless..............just wonderful casting.
SOUTH PACIFIC contains some of the most unashamedly romantic love songs ever written for the musical theatre( "This Nearly Was Mine", "Younger Than Springtime", "Some Enchanted Evening ").
It was a nice performance.,
Reba McIntire's voice is phenomenal, she would do Mitzi Gaynor more than proud! I wish Reba as Nellie Forbush would do South Pacific on Broadway. Also, Alec Baldwin is no Ray Walston but his rendition of "Honey Bun" was hilarious especially when he grabbed his crouch and pseudo "mooned" the sailors on stage at the end Great video.♥
And Nellie was a Southern girl from Little Rock Arkansas!
"She's a cookie who will cook you till you're done." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
notice John Schuck "Old Ironbelly" wiping his eyes at the end of "This Nearly Was Mine"....
🥲
Reba's characterization of Nellie Forbush is quite convincing.
SO GREAT!!!!!!!!!!
She's brilliant great performance.
I love Reba, she’s amazing with her artistry
Brian Stokes Mitchell isn't chopped liver either.
I wonder how they were able to do this without bursting into laughs whenever the coconut bra thing comes in.....
great pair for this song
Excellent!!!!
❤ this, thank you!
This nearly was mine is my life.
Yeah sorta me too but not in romance...
This performance is incredible and so beautiful done
Love Alec Baldwin and I love Reba so cute
Fond memories
Good performances by all involved. Wish I could have been there. It’s a radio version, so it’s a little unfair to compare it to a Broadway show.
It was not radio it was a concert at Carnegie Hall in 2006.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
👍🏻👍🏻
These performances were all free from pbs, no ads. Shame pbs requires membership to enjoy great shows of past, incl nature & nova.
It would be better if you put in Reba's name here. She's the one playing Nellie and singing the song, after all!
Pretty good! Fun number - but who was that gorgeous tenor voice at the beginning?
Jason Danieley. Seriously underrated actor, he’s done A LOT of an incredible character / vocal stuff on Broadway. I fell in love with him in Kander and Ebb’s “The Visit.” Take a look at the recording session of “The Only One,” from Playbill and it’ll blow you away. Also recommend seeing some of the clips of him in Sunday in the Park - he champions George Seurat like no other actor in my opinion. I included that bit in the upload because I want him to have more exposure lol
I would LOVE to see him play The Baron in Grand Hotel. I would die to hear him sing “Love Can’t Happened.”
Wow this is great
Jethro sounds amazing when he sings This Nearly Was Mine!
Beautiful!
turkey at my expense, baby?!
South Pacific question?
Love Alec but, something to be desired here.
Who is the actor playing Emile?
Brian Stokes Mitchell I believe
@@rRubberToes He's so good!
Brian Stokes Mitchell such a powerful voice! I understand why Reba was so emotional when he returned.
Alex Baldwin already.. I'm triggered.
Robbie Hagberg I think you should be able to get it done before you leave the house and I can go to the store and get it done before you leave the house and I can go to the store if you want to do it for me and a large fry with a large fry with a medium diet and I can go to the store and
Baldwin looks normal.
I just loved this concert! Baldwin topped Ray Walston in the movie!
Again, I missed th'u's--discussing lesbianism and inferiority in the military. DuPage County.
Ya. Give me Mitzi Gaynor any day.
And Ray Walston as Luther Billis.
Never liked Reba...
Not sure but she just seems 'common' to me.
Sorta trashy..
Sorry..☹
@@christinecatt5391 For me it’s the southern accent. It’s fine for many roles but not this one. I wouldn’t have cast her in this role either.
@@melaniemansfield3319 Ummm…you do know that the character she’s playing, Nellie Forbush, is from Little Rock, Arkansas. It explains why her character has racial prejudices. So technically Reba’s southern accent is far more fitting to the role than nearly all others who played the role without one.
Melanie Mansfield. Huh?! The Nellie Forbush character is supposed to be from Arkansas. The original Nellie, Mary Martin, was a Texan and had an accent.
I'm so far behind I think I'm first; ha.
Honestly I think I would have preferred Rob Schneider playing Luther
Which particular fool thought that Alec Balwin was a competent character actor...This role has always been and will be again so much more fun than Baldwin is able to make it.
He looks so out of place in this role.
I thought he was hilarious!
Reba's costars did a fine job.
I am soooo glad I'm no longer into Broadway.
