How about that for sportsmanship at minute 13:00. Calls himself on a helicopter, is given the baton back, and throws away to make sure is a dead baton. One of the many things I love about this game.
Why is the Kubb seen as double out on 7.30 minutes? It was onyl thrown once, and then pushed out by a kubb which had to be thrown a second time. Normally he could still throw it in a second time no?
There is nothing like "normal" in Kubb. The rules may vary a bit from country to country and from tournament to tournament. Which I personally think adds a lot of beauty to the game. Of course there are some international standards which have established over the last years. Mostly you have two rounds for the throw in - if needed - and which ever Kubb is out after the second round is seen as a penalty Kubb and can be raised somewhere else in the field. This actually avoids quite many discussions. Let's say you have ten Kubbs to throw in. 6 are good after the first round, 4 you need to throw again. You throw in 3 Kubbs, all good so far. And what happens if you throw in the last one and manage to push out two of the previous Kubbs. How could anybody tell if that Kubb was from the first or the second throw in round?
If you pay attention to the game, you should know which ones are being pushed out and can still be trhown or not :p Anyway, so this was just a rule set by this particular tournament. Allright. Was just wondering :)
Because they are far away from the king when they are placed in that area , which reduces the risk of them hitting the king by mistake. I assume they throw them at the right side of the king for the fact that they are right-handed.
If the kubbs are on the edge, they must be placed in the field - this means they have to be placed closer together and are easier to knock over & right-handers have a better angle on the right side
I've never played that way but I noticed that too and this was my realization: The team on the right knocked the king down so the team on the left decided whether they wanted to go first and only have three throws to start or go second and have a full six.
Great point. Watched several videos to freshen up on the rules and it seems they vary greatly. House rules so to speak, even though it may not be the official rules.
@@johnnynanners most common rule today is the 2-4-6 rule, starting team starts with two throws, oppenent has 4, and than the starting team gets 6 - the starting advantage still exists but its not an deciding point - like a 6 batton start

I didn't notice the helicopter, but he also stepped over the line, so that would have made it a double fault?
Fantastic kubbers. Amazing how they can consistently hit great shots.
Hang on, I have always been playing with the king upside down? Also why between the legs for a king throw?
13:02. ALAN!
Can anyone name the funky electronic song playing from 7:57 - 12:05 ? 👍
Can you give me and my team any pro tips?

What’s the point of the up side down king?
better stability, in switzerland the fields are divided by cords
How big is the playground on video? Is it 10x5m?
Honza Kopřiva 8x5m.
8m x 5m

why is everyone shooting the kubbs to the very right side?

To shoot as far as possible from the King
Has nothing to do with the king. It is because of the effect we use when throwing the kubbs. They hit the ground and then go to the right

right-handers have a better angle on the right side
How come the team on the right was not faulted at the beginning for knocking over the King?
Jacob Pilarski was going to ask the same question. That’s not how I’ve been playing. Should have been the other teams throw at minimum first.
