Thank you so much for this excellent video, I like the idea of draw string bag for small gifts I make for my friends but didn't like the unfinished look to it without the liner. this is great I have one hint for those who do not want to draw on the outside of the bag the line to sew just put tape on your machine on the 1 inch then the 2 inch measurement then follow the tape to edge of bag sew easy. I made my liner a solid piece, can even add pockets inside as option. Great video Lorrie Thanks again.
I make bags like these for the Beads of Courage program. Certain children's hospitals participate and children with long term illnesses earn beads for procedures/hospital stays/surgery/etc. They give the kids a handmade bag to hold the beads they earned. Search for their website for details if you are interested in making and donating bags. They are just simple lined drawstring bags (specific size on their site) and you also sew on a label. I know a couple kids who have participated in the Beads of Courage program and they cherish their beads. It helps them tell their story.
OMGoodness, thank you for spreading the word about this organization! I had not heard of it, but after reading your comment, I did a quick search for Beads of Courage and have fallen madly in love with the idea of sewing for them! I have been sewing and donating face covers, but the need for masks is [hopefully] starting to slow down, and I've been wondering what other "do good" project I can tackle this spring and summer. This is it! I have a good stash of colorful prints (super heroes, cartoon characters, emergency vehicles, sports, bright ditzy patterns, baby animals) that children would find attractive. I'm excited about registering to sew and donating these bags. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Love the contrasting fabrics...gonna make one as a Christmas gift to exchange at a luncheon. It will be perfect...having a sewing day with friends on Tuesday and was wondering what I could make. You saved the day! 🧵
Aww yes it is Supper cute, I’ve always loved drawstring pouches❣️❣️😍I had a leather little pouch when I was a little girl before school age -I can remember saving pennies in, and I loved the feel of holding that soft leather pouch 💖💝❣️🙏🏻 thank you for sharing , stirs up warm memmoried😇🤗
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH !! I was having such a time understanding how to make the strings, draw the bag closed🤦🏻♀️ I appreciate the great explanation ❤️

Made a tote bag for my niece who turns 8 tomorrow. I am sure she will love it. Thank for sharing your knowledge.
❤ love this adorable bag. FTR... I used bobby pins (works)to insert the string before I started using safety pins or bodkin.
I love the way you pieced it to make it look more interesting! Nice touch!
Thank you for your very clear instructions. Much appreciated. 😊
I just made this bag watching your instruction. Came out so cute! Thank you for the specific instruction! You did a great job explaining.

Love it. From Sri Lanka.
so cute!
Thank you for sharing!
Love it!
Wonderful size
Wow so quick, thanks for sharing. Where do you get your cord from. And the thickness.
Lovely bag. I got confused by the same materials for outer and lining. It would be clearer if a totally different fabric was used for the lining.
I’ve made several of these, they are so cute! I’m a beginner…could I use this same method for a waterproof swimsuit bag?
What size bag for a medium size bag Thank You
What brand is your steamer iron?
You obviously like pink. I think you could have done a better job on the drawstrings by putting a pink bead on each end.
Love it!
