As a partner in a Porsche restoration shop, I wanted to congratulate you for your dedication to doing thie work correctly. It is rare here in the states to see this level of corrosion in a G-body 911, but almost routine in the pre-galvanized cars. You have made great improvements in this Carrera and the pride of accomplishment must be the greatest reward. Congratulations.

I use to have a ‘74 911 back in the day. And you’re right - every morning when I started it up it brought a huge smile on my face and a huge sense of anticipation of the forthcoming drive to work. Never failed. I miss those days. A Toyota pickup truck just doesn’t cut it.
While the car in question happens to be a Porsche, I feel this is an essential series for anyone considering starting a restoration project. The technical work is first rate but just as importantly, the ethos of why the work needs to be done and why the unstinting level of detail that permeates the series is critical. Call it a examination and evaluation of values. Don't cut corners here or in your real life. Fantastic presentation!

Thanks! I might come to the US this summer. Where are you based again? The razor blade: I wouldn't dare this at some external surface, but in this case ... It's not too difficult to control the blade in a way that it only scratches the tape. Ripping it off then will to the rest.

You are an artist and genius. Everything I do to my Guards Red 1986 944 Turbo, I always try to clean and restore to the best of my ability with the tools I have. Spraying bodywork and welding I haven't got the facilities or enough skill yet. But you inspire me to take on more and get better.
I am watching this video waiting for the fed ex truck to deliver my new shocks for my 85 911 carrera, I spent over 300 hours cleaning and detailing the engine bay. I thought it would be a 4 month $6500 job, It has taken 16 months and $17000. I had the gearbox sent to a specialist, that cost $9200. I am so excited to start the motor.
Amazing craftsmanship, no stone unturned and the car is probably better than when it left the factory with the care and attention you put in. Only one question. When can I book mine in! 😀

This was fantastic. One day, when I own my own 911, i'll remember this. Although a lot of work, and time, the required tools and skill wouldn't be too hard to develop (just try on a cheaper car first XD) What was that steam/rust prevention you placed into the cavities, never seen it before. Also one last thing, I don't know if your settings are slightly wrong for the metal thickness, it seems that the wire speed is very quick, and maybe high amps, causing the blowouts in the steel. Again, fantastic, I look forward to my possible builds in the future!

This was fantastic. One day, when I own my own 911, i'll remember this. Although a lot of work, and time, the required tools and skill wouldn't be too hard to develop (just try on a cheaper car first XD)
What was that steam/rust prevention you placed into the cavities, never seen it before.
Also one last thing, I don't know if your settings are slightly wrong for the metal thickness, it seems that the wire speed is very quick, and maybe high amps, causing the blowouts in the steel.

I have no skills. I can only watch a real craftsman applying his considerable skills to a task he enjoys. WELL DONE! My only option is to write a check. My 997.1 Turbo is an outstanding example of automotive art that performs brilliantly on the road.
