I never found surfing interesting. But a few days ago I saw a couple of surfers in person, from afar I was amazed on how they can surf. This makes me want to start surfing now.
I'm new to it but surfing is so much fun!

I feel why people love surfing is because of the ride, its dangerous but exciting...the feel of butterflies before they surf then the relif and glory after. (I've had small experiences of surf)
Couple of days ago surfing I was caught in a big wave, purled, and slammed into rocks. Had to go to E.R for fractured wrist. That was my first big wave, caught by surprise. I was scared off a bit, but now I see these guys and the ocean calls... Now if I could just get that damn waterproof cast....
I’ve been watching Kelly Slater for years. I got disabled about 12 years ago, but watching him and some of the other surfers mentioned and seen here helps keep my head up. 🤙

Surfing is one of those things that I always obsess about. Something difficult that I have this obsession to be able to do it. Along with playing Piano, and MMA fighting lol

So awesome. Looks exhilarating and beautiful at the same time. Shame I live in the middle of city and will probably never get to surf, but man does it look amazing.
My future plans is to go to uni get a sick degree start a business or at least get a well paying job that j can work from home with then build a sick wood house with wifi and everything have a family and buy tons of surfboards and teach my kids how to surf by surfing every single day at that beach .

Covid makes me miss banzai so much, but man was I scarred for life when I seen two kids come up on a sandbar only to get demolished by a heavy hitter wave while boogie boarding.

Pipeline, the most overhyped, overrated, over-deified wave... Like, I'm sorry, there are a lot more dangerous spots all over the world, with just as crazy topography, much crazier waves. Use Pipe as the benchmark, sure, but don't call it 'the most dangerous wave in the world' or any of that shit. Only reason other surf breaks don't kill more people is because people know to stay the fuck away from those breaks. But at Pipe, people will do stupid shit because there is cameras, there is crowd pressure, and there is the whole mental block of 'it's pipeline'.

Whatever you say. You don't know what I've surfed. Few people do, as nobody surfs where I surf. They prefer to stick to the spots that won't kill you, and don't even call the other spots surf spots. Locals say they've never seen people surf there, even though there is surfer populations surrounding it. But yea, no photos no proof so you can think whatever you like. In the end, you would never really know either way. But I do.
Francois Theron sorry, you have no clue what youre talking about. I agree there are more dangerous waves out there, but this wave is an awesome wave and it's still dangerous.
Notice I said Pipe should still be used as a benchmark. Call it an 'extremely dangerous wave', or a 'killer wave' or whatever you like. But 'most' dangerous is a claim that there isn't any that are more dangerous out there. That is just simply untrue.

Its really all about Riding the wave, Each time you take off the wave is going to do something just a tad bit different then the last. and your goal is to take it and do with it what you want :D its all in the imagination on what you wanna do with it :D you should try it sometime if you haven't already :D nothing out there like it

The wave is beautiful but what's beneath is SCARY!! How do surfers manage to not injurw themselves if they fall or get wiped out? All I can see is skulls getting crashed on that reef...
