Absolutely great vid. This is exactly what I am trying to solve at the moment. My shop vacs and tools all have different size inlet/outlets. Well thought out solutions, and best of all, NO annoying music overpowering the content of your delivery. Many thanks.🇬🇧
Thanks. Yes, music is annoying, I even drive in the car without music. Maybe I'm getting old...
@@woodproducts7423 no no don't blame that on oldnes, that something mentaly, no chill music in car, you got problem 😜
seriously. i was looking for 3d modeling help, but this is great. I never thought about doing this.
for videos like this is why i love youtube.
You are my leader now. I worship you!
Best vacuum tube adapter making video seen sofar. Thanks!
Thank you for watching:)
Thank you for saving my sanity! finally someone showed how to make adapters, easy, inexpensive, brilliant!
Thank you.
THANK YOU.NECESSITY IS THE MOTHER OF INVENTION.
Absolutely awe inspiring. I have a very old dirt devil hand held vacuum needing some accessories but they are no longer produced. This gives me hope about making that tiny attached with a little rubber tubing so I can use it to clean my sewing machine. You are a genius. I just hit subscribe & like with no hesitation
You’re a genius. Thank you!
Thanks.
Thanks, saved me a lot of searching for adapters and 💰.
Thank you!
Finally got around to heat shrinking a cut Mountain Dew bottle and found it works very well. I also found the similar shaped clear Pepsi bottles work just as well, if not just a tiny bit better. These are the 16.9 ounce / 500 ml smooth-side cylindrical bottles.
Thank you for sharing your experiments with other bottles.
This is what I have been scouring the comments for! Which bottles work!
Just for the first one (hand planer), you've earned my subscription...
Very well dine Sir!👍🤟👏
Ohhh wait is that a plastic bottle? Damn!!! Clever!!!!
Simple and ingenious! Solves a nagging headache for me. Thank you thank you thank you!
I'm making a vortex for my workshop vacuum and you have given me the solution to the basic problem. Thanks
Never before have I tried an idea BEFORE the end of the video. This is brilliant! I was having a heck of a time finding a fitting for my mitre saw. One diet Dr. Pepper bottle later I was in business. Thank you!!
Thank you for your comment.
This is absolutely genius!!! I bought a set of mini vacuum attachments and wouldn't you know it, they didn't fit my vacuum hose! Now I'll be able to use those attachments...once I buy a heat gun. Big Thanks!!
You won't believe it, I did it, exactly when I bought the vacuum nozzles and they didn't fit. I decided to share it with my brothers on failure.
My man! Solved my annoying shop problem
Thanks for this GREAT video! Reminds me of how my dad could fix anything or make anything work using things he had in his workshop. Now to go find some plastic bottles to see if I can get my Swopy Easy duster to fit on my vacuum! Thanks for no background music, too! 10 out of 10 on this video!
Genius!! You saved my bacon, or at least a lot of adapters and money.
Best tip ever. So, so cool. Thank you.
Thank you so much!
genius! Love the idea...never knew bottles would shrink like that. Now if we could think how to make 90 degree angles with it too, that would be awesome!
Hi, thanks. I will try to do 90° if something turns out I will definitely let you know.
Thanks for demonstrating this most useful skill. I will take your lesson and apply it to my own dust collection needs. Really well done and so very economical.
Thank you for watching.
Perfect thanks. 👍🏻I’m in the middle of setting up my dust extraction so found this video at the perfect time.
Thanks.
Great video, I've been driving around hardware shops and looking online for adaptor and right after watching this vid I mad one in like 10mins and it was cheap. Thanks man
I'm glad the video helped you.
Best solution to a common problem I've seen on RUclips, well done 👍🏻
what a genius hack !!! going to try this !!
Hey Wood Products - A+++ Thank you so much for taking the time to produce this excellent tutorial on the use of plastic bottles as adapters for vacuum connections. Your techniques will be very helpful in many applications. I agree with your subscriber, First Last - You're a genius.
Thank you so much!
Brilliant solution. I know how I will be spending my weekend now.
Thanks. Good luck on the weekend.

Hi thank You. Happy to help.
This channel deserves more subscribers 👍🏼
Thanks. I hope soon subscribers will be a lot...
Many thanks, was wondering how to go from my planer to hoover. Worked a treat
Thank you for watching:)
Ya...im thinking the same way too...until i saw this video...thanks for sharing ya
Thank you for sharing. This is absolutely brilliant! Of course I have seen those "heat shrink" plastics for water-proofing electrical connections, but I always thought they were some sort of special plastic. Didn't realise that perhaps other plastic may work too.
I'm so glad that your video popped up in my feed. Excellent idea that I will DEFINITELY try out very soon. Thanks
Thanks. Very pleasant:)
Thank you for a great idea. Very innovative and inexpensive and easy to make. Thanks a million.
Great idea thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching.
Brilliant! Well done and a great way to recycle too.
Superb! Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺
You deserve the top RUclips award. 😃😃😃😃😃
Thanks. RUclips rewards all kinds of clowns, but not me :)
~que pinchi idea o ideas tan geniales, lo felicito y mil gracias por el video
Thank you for watching.
Awesome vid. Best part is reusing plastic bottles. I wonder if my hair dryer will do the trick since I do not own any of those machines. Thank you!
Amazing.....!!!Perfect!!!
Nicely done indeed. Will try for my system.
Thanks.
Thanks for the list of exact materials used!
Oh wait.
Thanks for the tip. Much appreciated.
Thanks for watching.
Great idea! FYI, sanding the end of the bottle on a flat piece of sandpaper will help to get the opening even
Absolutely brilliant. ***** 5 Stars *****
Thank you!
Sweet genius! Amazing!
Saved me from buying a 3D printer. Thanks, dude! ;)
Happy for you. :) 3D printer is my dream When I get rich, I'll buy it for sure
@@woodproducts7423 YOU ARE ALREADY VERY RICH... in intelligence!
Good and cheap way to have it well done! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the idea and demonstration! I'm sure I'll have a need to give this technique a try.
Thanks for watching:)
You are a genius.
Thanks.
Brilliant!
Genius!
Thank you very much.
this is BRILLIANT! I don't have a 'proper' vacuum cleaner (no carpeting), just my roomba (which is awesome) and a stick-to-hand vac, which works just fine EXCEPT the 'mouth' on it is oval, like the sander (I think?) from your first example, so this may be my solution! I don't have a heat gun so I will see how well my hair dryer does, and if not I'll get a cheap gun - easier than trying to find a hose adapter for the vac - and boom, no more sawdust!
Moreover, an industrial hair dryer will still be useful in the future:) Thanks for watching. Happy to help.
Exelente idea geacias por compartir
Gotta go buy some Mountain Dew now. No rest for the wicked.👍🇦🇺
When I need to drink Mountain Dew, I tell my wife that I need to make Vacuum Adapters :)
@@woodproducts7423 HA HA HA...that's a good one!
Pretty damn slick!!! Thx!! Wanna adapt a few dusting attachments from an old vacuum, to my newer Shark HEPA vacuum.
Great job....🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Thanks.
Genius. Subscribed
You da man!!!!!!! Thanks
Thanks.
Brilliant idea. It would be helpful if you SPECIFIED the kind of plastic bottle you used. Not all respond to a heat gun evenly. Thanks
Thanks. Mountain Dew 0.5
wow.absolutely briallant idea.thank u for this vid. sir.definitely i'll try this one.
At first I thought this is a video about 3D printing. Boy was I wrong. Great video.
Thanks for watching.
It took 3 years for this majestic video to pop up on my feed
Took 4 for me
Do all soda bottles act like heat-shrink tubing, or just a select few?
NEVERMIND!!! I found the references to Mountain Dew.
Finally got around to heat shrinking a cut Mountain Dew bottle and found it works very well. I also found the similar shaped clear Pepsi bottles work just as well, if not just a tiny bit better. These are the 16.9 ounce / 500 ml smooth-side cylindrical bottles.
Best video !!
Super excelente video,gracias
Who's a clever boy now !!
Everybody - give him a subscription, and a like - I think channels do not even get ad revenue before they have 10,000 subs !
Edit: no that's not correct - but subs are important so reward him anyway.
Hi. Thanks
Very smart, well done
Thanks.
This is just what I'm looking for. I threw away a part of my hoover by mistake 😂
Brilliant
I hope Lighter can do a trick, i don't have makita heater.
For this to give good results, you need to make sure you have a bottle that has a very long tapered top, such as this Mountain Dew bottle. Other PET (polyethylene) bottles will work, but you will realize that the plastic shrinks to a certain point, then it simply stops shrinking.
I can't find Mountain Dew bottles such as these shown in the video, and I haven't found a suitable replacement yet.
Children's bottles have a small diameter
@@woodproducts7423 Bingo!
@@woodproducts7423 What’s a “children’s bottle?”
Well done thank you
Thanks for watching.
Brilliant. Thanks
not bad. good for light usage only because of the thin plastics.
Do 2-3 layers and it will be more powerful.
@@woodproducts7423 PVC/PP pipe would be great.
I agree, but that's another story.
@@woodproducts7423 like Rambo films.
I don’t see why these wouldn’t work on even a small planer or table saw. All they are doing is holding the two attachments together. As long as there is a good seal, they should work well.
This is going to save me so much time and aggravation. Well done! It’s a soft drink bottle, correct?
Hi, Yes. Mountain Dew 0.5
Wood Products drank the whole 6-pack of Mtn. Dew and filmed this video in real time.
You are the best. I just subscribed.
Life saver lol, thanks m8!
Outstanding!
Thanks.
excellent idea excellent video greetings from Mcallen Texas USA
Thank you friend:)

Thank you. I've been pondering what kind of bottle to use. I don't recall a product that comes in ones like the presenter worked with.
Can't thank you enought. Just need a heather.
Thank you for your comments!
Superb
Simply awesome! Subscribed!!
Thanks.
Anyone try putting a second or 3rd bottle over the first, multiple layers, build up thicker walls, to add durability and maintain structure enough to stay put when theres more pressure on the joint, like say when the attached end sucks down on a hard floor unexpectedly and you don't stop forward momentum quite fast enough and it buckles and pops off 😂
Do you a vid on how to do that lovely sander?
😍😍😍😍😍This is so simple and brilliant idea. Will use it soon for own adapters. Does it work using a hair dryer? So sad, I have no heat gun. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Stay safe and blessings
Nice Video
Thanks.
Can you solve this problem? I have a "Eureka Blaze" stick vac. Like most 2 in 1 stick vacs, this converts from a stick/handle floor vac to a small hand vac when stick/handle is removed. It comes with crevice tool with oval end that inserts into the oval opening of the hand vac. But NO dust brush for cleaning furniture, drapes, blinds, etc. How would you create a dust brush hack to attach to the hand vac like the crevice tool does? Obviously use one of the hundreds of generic dust brushes available, however, they have round connections to connect to the typical round vacuum wand. The answer is found in creating a "connector" that is oval on one end to connect to hand vac, and round on the other end to connect to a dust brush. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks! And you are so smart in many different ways, including the absence of annoying music and confusing dialogue!
Dude oh my god this is amazing
Dude Thanks :)
This is a brilliant idea. Great job!
Thanks.
