I know he’s so much older now, but…the chemistry and electricity of this tour is unmatched. I’ve been to several shows in the last couple of years and the performances are just lacking this spark. I think it’s the combination of just absolutely superb musicians in their prime.
He can't sing like this anymore. He has dropped the keys of most of his songs and sings in a lower register, which sucks the life out of the songs. The whole appealing asthetic of Sting's music both solo and with The Police was his high soaring voice. I don't know if he has vocal damage or just can not be bothered maintaining his voice in older age. I just tried to watch a recent concert of his and could not get through 5 minutes. Similar types of singers like Colin Hay and Jon Anderson are still able to access their higher registers, despite their age.
