Heathrow switches runways to reduce the impact of aircraft noise on local communities, They usually change the runways at 3pm if they are landing and departing on the westerly direction
When I find life a little tough with money and struggling to keep warm,I do find it up lifting watching your videos of how the other half lives. Its nice sometimes to escape the anxious moments of life by watching your videos of travel 👍
That pie, gravy, and chips looked just the job, Lee. Simple and delicious grub! Got to say; think it was nailed with the first plane coming in...."Malta." Never been, but it's supposedly a lovely and historic place with warm weather, too. Malta played an important part with us as a strategic location base during the second world war, and many special connections with Malta and us still exist to this day. Would say with your cultured and historical interest side, well worth a visit, Lee. 😊
I'm going to be controversial and say the MEA flight from Beirut! It is actually a beautiful city with lots of history. I'd choose to visit there in peacetime, though! I also love that Premier Inn. Stayed there many times. Merry Christmas!
You can tell when you're back in the UK, the list of food you can't have, before the menu of food you could've had. At LHR they normally do a runway changeover at 15.00 when they are using the 27's for noise abatement measures. If they are taking off or landing at the opposite end, 09's they don't change over because the approaches are less populated.
Great video. Low landing passes were brilliant. I've just come back from St. Maartens, Maho Beach... Plane spotting. Anyone who's into low passes will know the place. Cheers Phil
Hi Lee, great video! I would love to visit Tasmania, my dad was ported there when he was in the Royal Navy during WW2 and he always said how beautiful it was.
I was brought up in Canada , St Catherines Ontario. Unfortunately my parents decided to return to the UK when i was eight.Very cold in the winter snow chains etc. I would fly off to southern Spain if i could, permanently.
Hi Lee. Great vlog. California for me or basically anywhere at the mo. After watching those planes on your vlog I found Airplane on prime. So thats my viewing for this evening. Have a good one x
I've still never been to New York, even though its ridiculously expensive now i do still want the NYC experience. Canada would be good though, Niagra Falls, do the boat trip, do the zip line etc!!
Grew up 500 yards away from Heathrow as the crow flies in Bedfont now live in Vancouver Canada and would recommend u put Vancouver on your places to visit if u have any questions please ask for any tips on places to stay eat great Vlogs keep it up really enjoy them 🇨🇦🇬🇧
would of been earlier in the day Virgin - MCO ( Orlando ) that is our regular premier inn vlogged from there a few times however favourite uk airport is Gatwick .
You need to be at the end of 27L where they are departing so you can play what plane to be on, as all the aircraft coming in (flight radar or similar apps) are landing so surely you don’t wanna be any of those landing
Would have picked the LA flight. Always wanted to go there. Good choice with the beef and ale pie....but ketchup....WITH gravy....god, a four year old has just thrown up beside me! Lol 😲😁😜 Keep em coming and if this is the last one before crimbo, (apart from the crimbo charity special of course....well done for that!😎👍) a very merry christmas to you and yours Lee. Have a good one my friend. William.
The wind direction determines which way aircraft land and take-off. Nothing to do with noise abatement. The runways alternate depending on terminal and maintenance requirements , (periodically checking for debris etc) and allowing take-offs .
Correction - at heathrow, they change runways at 3pm every day, under a longstanding agreement designed to reduce noise. Of course when there are strong winds, they will change the flight direction - there are two parallel runways, so they will always fly into any prevailing headwind, but the runway switch still happens. One runmway used for landings, the other for takeoffs.
@charlestoast4051 Thank you. We learn something new everyday but presumably the agreement only applies if the two runways are available. Was 1952 when the Americans left Heathrow? Around that time and for a couple of years afterwards I flew in and out of London at Croydon Airport (and once Northolt) I don't remember using Heathrow ( we called it 'London Airport' in those days) until about 1958 when there was not 5 terminals just one with the control tower on top.
For me, I always stay out of Town on North Hollywood, Sheraton Universal, 5 min walk Universal, then you can do the Universal VIP tour, or Warner Bros ! Hotel 2 mins off the 101.
I would definitely go to Cyprus, 350 days of sunshine and the best food in the world. You will definitely have to go back, may is best hot n not too busy. 😅
Lee, it seems that other Premier inns are having trouble with menu's and items not available. We stayed in the Bedford A421 inn and they had a notice saying that they were having trouble with thier suppliers and certain items were not available.
My preference - Dubai, on an Emirates A380, since that will have been a comfortable flight with decent food and great service. Only downside - a potentially long wait at the baggage carousel.
Merry Christmas! 🎄 We used to park the car at the side of the road, at the end of the runway at LAX back in the day. Can't do that now. I think I would visit Tokyo if I could.
Like be on a return flight from Tenerife or any of the Canary Islands or anywhere warm in the world great video as always Lee. I’d give your meal 8.5/10 look nice👍
Plane takes of into the wind for more lift, if the wind changes the planes take off the other way in Glasgow one side is called 23 the other end is 05 so the pilot knows which end, you can also go onto atc live on u tube on another device and get the pilots talking
Quit playing with your food you're not four!, these prices are 30% too high, £14.49 for a £1.50 pie, a spoon of peas and a shredded spud, £9.99 would be where I'd price it.
The changeover usually happens at 3pm on westerly operations but no changeover on easterly operations when they always land on the northern runway and take off on the southern.
Great video lee something a little different it's got to be New York or Canada 🇨🇦 although Canada isn't the cheapest for a holiday but absolutely stunning country
I'd like to be on a Jet2 flight heading to Alicante mate just for few days but not gonna happen unfortunately I'm going in July anyway for my 36th so it's all good now onwards my friend let's go
I thought you’d want to be on the Beirut plane Lee. I’ve heard Mansfield is twinned with Beirut 😉😁BTW, i didn’t see anything coming back from Tenerife so count me out lol ✈️😎
For a minute their I thought you were on your travels again 😅. If I could pick one plane ✈️ it would be Canada 🇨🇦 Toronto. My own personal choice would be aurigny. Guernsey 🇬🇬.
I liked Canada, lovely people, but yes, extremely cold in winter, they even warn you on the plane to minimize the amount of exposed skin, but in summer you need to pack a cricket bat to blat the mosquitos away, they are huge and they are thirsty.
Hi Lee here’s a question for you. Have you stayed at that premier inn before and how would rate it as we were thinking of staying there next year maybe. Hopefully to go to Florida. And why do you get so many haters I think your great honest and upfront and my 2 sons are Autistic and love your content with the airplanes. And it would be nice to see you in first class and please go to Malta we love it. Merry Christmas from us.
And.. the Hotel has been used in many TV shows and Films like Columbo and 6 million dollar man, and I'm pretty sure Mr Kojak actually lived there too, on one of the higher floors.
Nice, I like the way an anorak like you thought that big bird was a 737 or a 747 knowing full well it was neither, A380 iirc, I know I know...marketing, the Lingus pilot looked like he'd been on the Guinness, MEA? Middle Eastern Airlines?
You need to be at the other end of the airfield they are all landing lol which be default means they are all landing in Heathrow so I wouldn’t ant to be on any of them I would wanna be at the opposite end 27R or 27 L and finding an aircraft worth jumping on board
Hun I could stay there and watch them all day . love watching the airplanes ✈️ xxx❤

Die Hard 2 was on BBC3 last night! Scared me off planes ✈️ for a few weeks 😅

Wind direction ✈ is the correct answer 😊
The menu is half empty because of the drones in New Jersey 😅
That pie, gravy, and chips looked just the job, Lee. Simple and delicious grub!
Got to say; think it was nailed with the first plane coming in...."Malta."

The pie looked OK. The Premier Inn looks good

Lee how about Cyprus part 2? I would like to see you and Geoff Carter in Thailand.
I think I'd be on one going to Canada rather than coming back
Aircraft take off and land into the wind, they change the left and right runways at 3pm to fairly share the noise for local residents.
That food looked like something you’d get at spoons.
Beirut would be an amazing visit. Excellent food and friendly people.
Great video.
Low landing passes were brilliant.
I've just come back from St. Maartens, Maho Beach... Plane spotting.
Anyone who's into low passes will know the place.
Cheers

They change runways most days at 3pm at Heathrow in case no one else has said so😁
I've still never been to New York, even though its ridiculously expensive now i do still want the NYC experience. Canada would be good though, Niagra Falls, do the boat trip, do the zip line etc!!
Merry Christmas to you and your family. New Year coming and new destinations. Be safe.
They Change runway from Right to Left at least once a Day to give Residents under the Flight Path a rest from the Constant noise particularly Hounslow
Id love to be on a plane bound for LAX
British Columbia Vancouver. My Daughter lived out there for a while, beautiful place.
Merry Christmas and happy new year to you Lee and family
It's for noise mainly, more noise on approach than departure, they change every 4-6 hours at Heathrow.
SXM - Sint Martaan - on the beach 30C every day.
Planes flying 10 feet overhead. Bars and restaurants nearby.
I can't wait for your revisit to Perth in Australia Lee. I don't know Canada so would love to see that too. 👍
You must have set the world record for the number of holidays taken a year 😮
Question: Did you get home or are you stuck on the M25? :D
Good watching. Cheers to you and yours.
Awesome plane spotting 😀🤪

Damn. I would have loved to have seen her from there. 👍🏼
would of been earlier in the day Virgin - MCO ( Orlando ) that is our regular premier inn vlogged from there a few times however favourite uk airport is Gatwick .
Hun that pie and chips and peas looked ok . my score is an 8.5 from me . lovely to see you home Safely xx❤

Actually called the Cranford Agreement, dating back to 1952!

I’m surprised you didn’t bump into “big jet tv” lol.
Boeing 747 “queen of the sky”
Airbus A380 “King of the sky”

This is a great idea for a video ❤
Have you ever been to a pub and said to the barman or maid, can you recommend a good port and they replied southampton?!
Like be on a return flight from Tenerife or any of the Canary Islands or anywhere warm in the world great video as always Lee.
I’d give your meal 8.5/10 look nice👍
Great video Lee and Toronto in winter and your pie and chips needed curry 👍👍

I would love to visit miami as I've always wanted to go their and if it was Australia it has to be Melbourne and bondi beach Sydney
Miami on Qld's Gold Coast bee's knee's as well.

Come on when you getting Noel Phillips on your channel 🙏🙏🙏
I’ll be flying in on that A380 from Miami next month. Continuing on to Edinburgh.
Quit playing with your food you're not four!, these prices are 30% too high, £14.49 for a £1.50 pie, a spoon of peas and a shredded spud, £9.99 would be where I'd price it.
Didnt know one of his family was in the comments 🤦♂️🙄
They change runways to give local communities a rest from aircraft noise during westerly operations
I should hope so, have you seen how close they get the houses 🏘 😮
The changeover usually happens at 3pm on westerly operations but no changeover on easterly operations when they always land on the northern runway and take off on the southern.
I believe it's an arrangement known as the Cranford Agreement.
Loving the vlog Lee, my personal preference would have been coming from Thailand👍🍺cheers mate
Kylan says he wants to go to Thailand Japan Paris and Bali and the UK!!! ❤
I think I would take off to Florida.or maybe to Malta I don't know🤔
Great video lee something a little different it's got to be New York or Canada 🇨🇦 although Canada isn't the cheapest for a holiday but absolutely stunning country
I will have the sticky toffee pudding and cream please thank you ❤xxxx

The only place I'd like to visit that I've never been is Scandinavia ❤
Malta (The pie and chips looked alright, but, a silly price).
For a minute their I thought you were on your travels again 😅. If I could pick one plane ✈️ it would be Canada 🇨🇦 Toronto. My own personal choice would be aurigny. Guernsey 🇬🇬.
If it's 3o'clock the change is for noise abatement.
I would have taken a flight to San Francisco , but I,m biased because I lived there for 3 years .
They can only take off and land into wind
I liked Canada, lovely people, but yes, extremely cold in winter, they even warn you on the plane to minimize the amount of exposed skin, but in summer you need to pack a cricket bat to blat the mosquitos away, they are huge and they are thirsty.
And you could fry an egg on the pavement.
Would like to be coming in from Phoenix Arizona
Frankfurt, new York, Toronto, deli i wood like
I would have preferred you filmed the departures. Then I would have chosen anywhere other this once great country. 😂
Canada for me. Merry Christmas.x
Did you get to have a separate birthday on a day before or after Christmas?🎄💖
Hi Lee here’s a question for you. Have you stayed at that premier inn before and how would rate it as we were thinking of staying there next year maybe. Hopefully to go to Florida. And why do you get so many haters I think your great honest and upfront and my 2 sons are Autistic and love your content with the airplanes. The A380 is impressive, but nowhere as beautiful as the 747, still the “Queen of the Skies”. What BA has done to the Concorde is criminal, imo…
Hey there Lee, how long will you be in Perth for?
Couple of weeks.
Very nice. You'll be staying with that lovely couple you stayed with last time, I'm assuming?
You always want to take off and land into the wind.
Not seen on the video, but VS8 from LAX :-) even better ? VS7 outbound to LAX :-) if you go let me know..I'll come too ! Lol
Where's best place to stay there hotel wise.
And.. the Hotel has been used in many TV shows and Films like Columbo and 6 million dollar man, and I'm pretty sure Mr Kojak actually lived there too, on one of the higher floors.
Wind direction or at 1500 hrs they swap runways for arrivals & departures 👍 MIA for me 😎
That was either a huge fork or a very small pie?
Range anxiety again.😅
Need to hook up with Jerry Dyer at BigJet (when he is in town).
Are you happy to be home ❤️ ok I'll try to play ❤ let's go Lee ❤
ketchup is better here than in america no poison in ours lol
Nice, I like the way an anorak like you thought that big bird was a 737 or a 747 knowing full well it was neither, A380 iirc, I know I know...marketing, the Lingus pilot looked like he'd been on the Guinness, MEA? Middle Eastern Airlines?
I didn't say it was a 747 or 737. I said it's not as iconic as a 747.
@@TheMacMaster Yeah you did on a second play my bad, I'm not four anymore either and going mutton. 🤣
@Chromie2-ph2kz I sympathise. I got told off for ignoring my Mrs tonight. I didn't hear her. 😂
I’d say it’s a good time to get a flight to San Francisco
You need to be at the other end of the airfield they are all landing lol which be default means they are all landing in Heathrow so I wouldn’t ant to be on any of them I would wanna be at the opposite end 27R or 27 L and finding an aircraft worth jumping on board
Tokyo on Japan Airlines

If you want to go to the States, go to Hawaii.
Hi Lee like to come from New York (USA) with British Airways
