From the way she describes it, it sounds like what a good television pilot should do. Give you a sense of what the series is generally going to be (even if stuff is tweaked slightly later on), have exposition peppered throughout, "show don't tell", and probably have higher production values than most of the rest of the episodes in the first season.

I feel like vtubing is just rediscovering what it means to work in entertainment. Streaming made it more accessable and vtubing takes it a further step, but each time people just have to rediscover how to create a entertainment product.

Overall I'd agree. I saw a similar thing happen in podcasting where it was all over the place in its early days (2007 to 2014ish) before becoming "mainstream" and in a lot of cases becoming more polished and a bit more predictable. In both cases it was a lot amateurs getting involved and figuring out the process as they went.
I just hope people in the vtuber space will pay attention to what works while still trying to remain unique or push the envelope in ways that make sense so it doesn't become a passing fad or get stagnant.

Unless you are corpo, with corpo pull your debut does not matter... But if you are you better get it right...

Maybe true for the bigger corpos. Not really sure how much benefit the smaller corpos give, that's probably something we should have asked Pip

It's because being a vtuber for most streamers is a character focused job. People are following you because of your personality. If you're a let's play streamer that has a vtuber avatar that'd be one thing, but vtubers are usually about the character over gameplay.

I'll definitely buy a 5000$ cab, import it to EU for 500€, add in 25% tax for a debut that'll bring 6 people but honestly... I really do want a Project Diva cab and I think it'd be easier to build one myself at this point...

I think her point was more to show people something you genuinely enjoy, the cab was just her example.
When the streamers having fun, the viewers (usually) enjoy it more as well.

How do you draw that large audience to your debut stream?

    Jurassic Park arcade cabinet?
Pippa is so effing based I can't take it. That alone overrides any bad take she's ever had since her debut and gives her a grace period of five years.

Don't think I've played the Jurassic Park arcade. Was an absolute FIEND for Smash TV with friends though. That would be my debut choice, if I had the cab. A- and.. friends..
