The programming on this piece is not great.. and that’s an understatement. As much as I adore the bear, the mouth program/ head program isn’t the greatest. The mouth program (It’s the most wonderful time of the year) isn’t good. Several words are said without the mouth moving. He does this a bit more throughout the songs, but it’s most noticeable on (it’s the most wonderful time of the year). For those of you who didn’t catch it, there’s a few times where the head will attempt to move three times in one direction. Depending on the position, the head can only move twice. Once back to the middle, and a second time all the way to either the left or right. After that the mech is just hitting that head turn stopper while the motor tries to turn it a third time. The issue with the factored audio isn’t a big deal at all, but there seems to be an error in the code that causes a screeching noise at the end of (the most wonderful time of the year). It is very noticeable. So while the programming needs work, the overall look, songs and animation are on point. Very good item.
I’ve never been super into or knowledgeable about life sizes but ones like this really make me appreciate them more and even want to collect them. Really cool piece!
Wow!!!!!!!! I saw that Gemmy 2004 Christmas Life Size Animated Santa Bear Before on all of the RUclips Channels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😀😀😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 Have a Blessed Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is so nostalgic to me. My elementary school had one by the front doors and they would have it on sensor before and after school. And I was pretty obsessed. Hopefully I find one sometime it’s the only Christmas one I’m missing. I found the other three locally so I’m sure I will come across this
Great review man, this is one of those animatronics that I would like to own one day. Already got the Santa and Grinch from around this year. #WishListItem
Awesome. Great video on him. Is there any safe way you could get a picture of the mechanism attached to the motor in the head that pulls the string to make his mouth move? I just got one and his mouth doesn't move and in checking it out the string and motor are there but whatever actuates the string on the motor shaft is missing.
I just picked one up yesterday to fix up, mine had a small plastic ring that went around the shaft just so you could tie the rope on and it would stay in place. The piece was rattling around in the head luckily but you could probably get away with gluing the string onto the motor shaft so it’ll roll up onto the shaft when moving to get the mouth to open. That fixed mine but the sound keeps cutting in and out on mine so I’m in the process of trying to fix that.
@@Dirtbiker4life thank you for the info. I just got a power supply for mine and will be working on it this weekend hopefully. So does the motor work in a winding and unwinding motion? If so I could probably make a piece for attaching the string. Your sound cutting in and out sounds like a lose wire or a dirty or corroded volume switch.
@@deathatsix yep just winds and unwinds to open and close the mouth. Just make sure you secure the bottom of the neck in the front otherwise it pulls on it and causes the mouth to not open all the way. And yes you were pretty close, I just found that the switch was corroded causing the music to play intermittently. Cleaned that up some and it seems to be working great now. Pretty happy with it considering I paid $30 local, the eBay prices are insane

He is a good animatronic
I have one of these! Bought it new at Wal-Mart. I get him out every Christmas. The only thing is, the mouth doesn't move anymore.

My kids are in love with this and I'd really like to fix it and get it working right.
