I remember getting the Transformers Crossovers Darth Vader/Death Star figure for Christmas years ago; I could never get it to transform back into Death Star mode because of all the crazy outer shell panels.
Yeah, I have most of that line (missing a few like the Emperor Palpatine/Shuttle Tiderion, and the Y-Wing and the Jedi Starfighters), including the epic fail that was the Darth Vader/Star Destroyer/Anakin Skywalker/Republic Cruiser combo. That guy will forever stay half-transformed in my toy bin. I always wanted a Darth Vader/Star Destroyer transformer ever since I bought the Darth Vader/Death Star one, but _MAN_ was I disappointed. Anyway, getting back on topic. Yeah, those outer panels really suck when you're transforming him back into Death Star mode, but they're still doable. At least you know how they go just by looking at them, and it doesn't parts-form like their ungodly fail at trying to make a quad-changer with the aforementioned Darth Vader/Star Destroyer/Anakin Skywalker/Republic Cruiser.
VulpisFoxfire Yup, that it did! There was also a Clone Pilot/Republic Gunship I had and a Commander Cody/Turbo Tank that I thought looked super-cool (I used to LOVE Commander Cody because of his color scheme). Lots of Clone Wars ones, now that I think about it.
I think this figure is a fine figure, Vader works more as a Transformer like Character because of his robotic parts, and he is hooked up to a life support system, but I think the line is a those who like it will, and those that don't won't. I think it looks awesome and amazing, and I think those complaining that the figure is a waste from a true crossover when it feels like the PS1 Prime and Segatron figures, they are just novelty figures, and nothing more
Jmaster99 judging by the Han the human heads aren't bad either. Takara actually did a good job translating them to look like a mecha version unlike the crossovers line.
the solar panels becoming shoulder pads in robot mode makes him look like he's wearing samurai armor, which is apparently a thing if you see redesigned versions of him.
I have the original Star Wars Transformers Vader, and I think that one's much better overall. The sculpt and paints are definitely mushier, but the proportions are tall and more intimidating than this one, in my opinion. Its foils turn in to a cape and shield, and while that's kinda clunky, it works out wayyyy better than the crazy shoulders going on here. I hope you can find that one and compare it, 'cause that'd be interesting. Great review!
Is this part of a new transformers star wars crossover toy series or is it one from the old like they did a few years back? I remember there being a tie fighter darth vader figure in that line and by god was it bad. one of the tie wings became a shield and the head and shoulders just came weird out of the top of the figure above the arms
Should of done a comparison with the Deluxe Darth Vader Tie Fighter. You'd think being a Voyager and being that the other one is YEARS old now that this would be better but no. The other one had some parts forming as the wing pannels came off to form his cape and a sheild but still looks a hell of a lot better than the giant shoulders this one has.
I wanted this, but the head flash convinced me just to find a used one and touch it up. As far as the head and shoulders, the wings should fold behind and form a cape, which would increase the black colors. As for the head, they should have put some silver or grey on the head to balance the colors. And for an expensive figure they should have panel lined the figure.
One Day Baltmatrix, ONE DAY...you will know that there is no S at the end of Power in the title "Power of the Primes". This figure looks way better than the Cross Overs line but I can see all those complaints being annoying af
Hmmm. The chestpiece *does* need more or a transition from the grey body to the black head. Maybe instead of the silver stripes, black stripes with silver highlights between them?
if they are going to do this again, can't we do it right this time? have transformer characters that turn into starwars vehicles. the seekers be X-wings wheeljack - snowspeeder I think a naboo starfighter would make a good sunstreaker and sideswipe megatron can be a retool of this with one of the wings fully collapsing into a fusion cannon.
so this is my first time seeing you, very cool but I noticed b a l t in the title... are you from Baltimore? I'm in Baltimore GREAT now maybe you can tell me a decent toy shop lol
Vader had a medium-long variable length saber but preferred combat with a long blade. That blade is somewhere between medium and short, so yes way too short.
Just as long as they don't try to make the robot modes so accurate to the character's costumes that the vehicle colors look like crap (I'm looking at you crossovers Thor).
Ok so your actually right his saber is to short because darth Vader has a saber that can change length and in a new hope the first time we see Vader his lightsaber is fully extended keeping obi wan as far away as possible
I think whats throwing you off is the color combination kinda not working well with the black vs the mostly gray and the fact that darth vader is not a super bulky guy. when you look at darth vader you usually see like an average looking man in a suit. not extremely skinny tall or bulky. so when the head is put on a bulky figure, it looks kinda stragne.
I think if this figure gets the light grey (silver?) part repainted to something darker like gunmetal.. it'll look more premium.. and evil. Also, balt, does the lightsaber fit on the standard 5 mm port?
It seems like an ok figure. Vaders mechanical nature lends itself more to the concept than an organic character like Chewie/Yoda. I'm not familiar with Star Wars vehicles, but couldnt they they have made this toy mostly black or found a another vehicle that was mostly black? Also, since its a Takara release, I think 50 US is too much. If it was a Hasbro mainline relase in the US, 25-30 would be a more fitting price since its basically a TF Voyager sized toy. 7/10.
It's a completely new set of figures. So far the only ones that have been announced are this one and another Millenium Falcon that splits into Han and Chewie once more.
As far as I'm aware no other figure has been announced yet. Here's hoping for more (although I do think the original Death Star Vader still holds up today)
+JDRider02 Yeah, I think it would really be awesome to see Takara's new take on the old classics. Especially the Darth Vader/Death Star. He still holds up perfectly well today (I have him permanently displayed on my Transformer shelves, right next to my other planet-former Cybertron Primus. They look really neat together), but I wouldn't mind seeing a new take on him with modern designs and engineering. Maybe they could do something about the panels and huge 'turtle shell' backpack he has. =3
I never thought these types of transformers would ever come back
I had the old version of this
This used to be one of my favorite transformers when I was a kid.
I remember getting the Transformers Crossovers Darth Vader/Death Star figure for Christmas years ago; I could never get it to transform back into Death Star mode because of all the crazy outer shell panels.
TheComicCrafter yep. He's in Death Star mode now and I haven't touched mine in months. I really hope this line redoes the Death Star figure.
I had a Deluxe Obi-Wan/Jedi Starfighter which had blue details instead of red and did not come with a tiny figure.
Didn't that line *also* have a Vader/TIE Advanced one?
VulpisFoxfire Yup, that it did! There was also a Clone Pilot/Republic Gunship I had and a Commander Cody/Turbo Tank that I thought looked super-cool (I used to LOVE Commander Cody because of his color scheme). Lots of Clone Wars ones, now that I think about it.
“It definitely feels like they sculpted in more angry.”

Yeah. That is True, and I agree with you as well. I feel this will be a different direction with the line instead of Hasbro's direction
This is the most fun I've had watching a toy review. Also, Vader is totally working that dad bod
George Lucas: "Thank you for your money Balt!"
the solar panels becoming shoulder pads in robot mode makes him look like he's wearing samurai armor, which is apparently a thing if you see redesigned versions of him.
Maybe it's just me, but it kind of looks like Darth Vader's head stuck on Megatron's body.
You, sir, are a genius.
zotar the mighty now i can't unsee it
It is just you.
It is because nobody asked.
When he said in AULT mode, I new he was gonna be big

Great review!
Darth Vader: You don't know the true power of the dark side, oh, never mind.
The most anticipated crossover ever
ok that got me to laugh.
him saying i will try not to eat you was unexpected and ended up funny for me.
I'm glad they're bringing this line back. Hopefully, they do more than just star wars toys
i remember when the original Star Wars transformers came out.
1:40 what about the Mending enchantment?
The shoulders are supposed to be like that because Darth Vader cant raise his arms above his shoulders so they act like a shielded
It's not a transformer, it's a Mech suit xD
And the flying Vader head idea is hilarious in my opinion
02:12 I get that you have a theme going, but I’m gonna be honest, the size would probably be realized by a lot more people if you put a minifig there.
I had most of the star wars and marvel transformers toys when I was I kid
This earned a like within the first thirty seconds.
Oh yeah nice
👌👌👌
The Force is strong with this one
DOOMSLAYER PRIME I thought the same thing
ZackAttack R.P.G 2 minds think alike
DOOMSLAYER PRIME the force works in mysterious ways
I remember having some of these I loved them so much
flying vader skull head reminds me of the Roboskull Action Force vehicle which had tie fighter influences.
Star wars + transformers = starformers!!!
Is this part of a new transformers star wars crossover toy series or is it one from the old like they did a few years back? I remember there being a tie fighter darth vader figure in that line and by god was it bad. one of the tie wings became a shield and the head and shoulders just came weird out of the top of the figure above the arms
Mix of what I like
Should of done a comparison with the Deluxe Darth Vader Tie Fighter. You'd think being a Voyager and being that the other one is YEARS old now that this would be better but no. The other one had some parts forming as the wing pannels came off to form his cape and a sheild but still looks a hell of a lot better than the giant shoulders this one has.
I still remember the original transformers crossovers star wars line, im only missing the death star and anakins satrfightee
I like the fact that this looks better than the original one. Did this come out this year
I wanna hug you just for that intro man
Nice intro
Best imperial march cover
I wanted this, but the head flash convinced me just to find a used one and touch it up. are you more of the star wars transformers
Is this coming to the US?!?!?!?!??
Strange! So I keep my Alexa in the living room and @5:19 it says “Hi” every time I play this video. Just a random observation.
You're alive!
it should be greater if the foil/wing could't transform in a cloak
Is this a re-release of the older set of Transformers/Star Wars ones. I had two of the LAAT/i ones I'd glued and repainted for the WotC minis game.
One Day Baltmatrix, ONE DAY...you will know that there is no S at the end of Power in the title "Power of the Primes".
This figure looks way better than the Cross Overs line but I can see all those complaints being annoying af
Baltmatrix will you be reviewing the millennium falcon as well
They're still doing Star Wars Transformers?
Hey batlmatrix do you have the oder Hasbro version of this
Darth Vader.....RISE!!
This reminds me more like one of these weird transforming Mobile Suits of the Titans in Zeta Gundam
Oh no is darth baltmatrix
Darth Vader's light saber is supposed to be longer and pointed at the end
Hmmm. The chestpiece *does* need more or a transition from the grey body to the black head. Maybe instead of the silver stripes, black stripes with silver highlights between them?
I had the origional vader toy when the starwars transformers first came out then I lost all the bits
He better hope he doesn't get demonitized from the knife
if they are going to do this again, can't we do it right this time? have transformer characters that turn into starwars vehicles.
the seekers be X-wings
wheeljack - snowspeeder
I think a naboo starfighter would make a good sunstreaker and sideswipe
megatron can be a retool of this with one of the wings fully collapsing into a fusion cannon.
Chef Excellence makes more sense if a Star Wars character transforms into a Star Wars vehicle rather than a TF character.
I think the s-foils on the shoulders could have gone on his back to be his cape.
i feel like the pauldrons are just asking to be moved to become a cape
I would love to see a transformer of Asohka Tano ,Sabine wren or General Grievous
I really like the figure as a huge Vader fan but it definitely needs more black!!!
The lightsaber should be longer and because of the shoulder wings makes the head seem almost a little small
Can you peg the saber in so that it looks like a laser beam coming out?
they should had his wings fold back a lil more toward the back to form his cape
the beginning of the video killed me
but yet i think the wings folded up are like buster cannons almost
so this is my first time seeing you, very cool but I noticed b a l t in the title... are you from Baltimore?
I'm in Baltimore
GREAT now maybe you can tell me a decent toy shop lol
I think the thing that bugs you is the weird shoulder pads.
How did you not try and put Vader in the prime armor
I had hoped the foils became the cape. I am disappointed
I think the problem is the head looks too much like the actual character while the body is clearly a robot.
Do you know if this is available in the Disney stores? I don't feel like ordering this online, but if it's in stores I would pick it up.
opoptimusprime27 probably not since this is takara only though maybe Disney stocks them.
I would have liked them to make the small Darth Vader a head master
if we get a replacment left hand that's doing the force choke I'm willing to ignore all of its problems so i can have an epic pose on the shelf
So...how does this compare to the Star Wars Transformers TIE Advanced/Vader that's been out...for a long time now?
the Death Star Vader should be a retool of Armada Unicron
Mixey Boy No, it shouldn't.
Cybertron primus would be a better fit since his planet mode is round unlike unicorn.
That's what the original is/was (like others that commented here, I have it - love it conceptually, but it is really bulky and paneltastic)
if it weren't for the fact that you can't take the solar panels off, i would prefer this one over the original Darth Vader transformer
Whare did you find glypher and transvadere thats funy righte 🎧
I have a figure like this but is the Jedi starfighter featured in revenge of the sith
I AM THE SENATE
A swivel here! this is a jobbythehong reference.
You still have the video for Max B misspelled as "Beast *was* 2nd - Max B"
Did they made Boba Fett & Jango?
Vader looks awesome but I to would have liked it if he was an Obsidian black or a Gunmetal gray like his Tie Fighter was in the movie
for the intro!!!!!
From what I can see, the head appears a bit too small, and it has little color separation compared to the rest of the figure.
I love your vids bud!
Vader had a medium-long variable length saber but preferred combat with a long blade.
That blade is somewhere between medium and short, so yes way too short.
I thought the TIE wings is going to be a cape in robot mode or something like that.
WHAT DID TOMY DO
Is this new or a thowback?
Why your audio volume keep decreasing..I don't know why but now I have to use headphone to watch your video
I kinda hope they revisit the Marvel Figures like they did with this
Just as long as they don't try to make the robot modes so accurate to the character's costumes that the vehicle colors look like crap (I'm looking at you crossovers Thor).
True, since I'm starting to think MCU Marvel Legends are overrated XD they should've made Marvel 90's cartoons figures of Marvel Legends instead.
Who new star was and transformers could fit together?
Ok so your actually right his saber is to short because darth Vader has a saber that can change length and in a new hope the first time we see Vader his lightsaber is fully extended keeping obi wan as far away as possible
*sigh* His torso is a sphere.
Balt please tell me this means that they are bringing back the Star Wars transformers.
Alex Massie
well I just preordered takara millennium falcon so it seems they at least plan on making the main ships / characters.
I request that you review the crossovers line if you haven’t already. (all of them if you can)
I think whats throwing you off is the color combination kinda not working well with the black vs the mostly gray and the fact that darth vader is not a super bulky guy. when you look at darth vader you usually see like an average looking man in a suit. not extremely skinny tall or bulky. so when the head is put on a bulky figure, it looks kinda stragne.
Is it me or is Balts voice really quite?
I think if this figure gets the light grey (silver?) part repainted to something darker like gunmetal.. it'll look more premium.. and evil.
Also, balt, does the lightsaber fit on the standard 5 mm port?
It seems like an ok figure. Vaders mechanical nature lends itself more to the concept than an organic character like Chewie/Yoda. So would we get a Death Star/Palpatine TF figure?
Is this a new series? Or are these some rereleases? I dimly remember an Anakin Jedi Starfighter thing from years ago and it was not very good.
It's a completely new set of figures. So far the only ones that have been announced are this one and another Millenium Falcon that splits into Han and Chewie once more.
JDRider02 I see. Thank you.
As far as I'm aware no other figure has been announced yet. Here's hoping for more (although I do think the original Death Star Vader still holds up today)
I've still got the Death Star Vader, but its a pain to change into Death Star mode.
+JDRider02
Yeah, I think it would really be awesome to see Takara's new take on the old classics. Especially the Darth Vader/Death Star.
