Jesus did not call down fire on that town because of this scripture: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord” (Luke 4:16-19). Jesus was sent in the flesh to the earth to preach the ACCEPTABLE YEAR OF THE LORD "Year" is a period of time which has a beginning and has an end. We are still in that period this was why Jesus refused to call down fire upon them. But a time will come when when this period will end and God's wrath will be poured upon the earth. Paul described this anger when he preached to Felix: Acts 24:25 As Paul talked about righteousness, self-control and THE JUDGEMENT TO COME, Felix was afraid and said, “That’s enough for now! You may leave. When I find it convenient, I will send for you.” So if God does not kill or destroy then why is Felix afraid? If God does not destroy or kill then there will be no judgement day. What will he do to those who don't believe? hug them on that day?
