Thanks for sharing! Don’t have any experience with marine motors, nor have I see the interior of one. I noticed roller bearings, never would have thought! Also very impressive that you called out your mistake, great work!

Thanks Joseph! A lot of 2 strokes are roller bearings but the 4 strokes are regular. I have a 4 stroke teardown coming up soon too I will be posting!

very cool. I have done lots of small block and big block Chevy's, Fords, and Chrystlers, MerCruiser and Mercury Marine engines (that are based on the chevys BBC or SBC). but i have never been in an outboard motor. it was cool to see the roller crank bearings. very cool. i didn't see any valves is it a 2 stroke?

We do outboards exclusively, I have never done an inboard but anytime someone asks about parts we tell them to just buy the automotive parts where possible. Once a part is 'marine' we find it is sometimes double or even triple the price! The 3 cylinder with the roller bearings was a 2 stroke.
