I have a pair of DD's 506d's in a 1 cub box tuned to 33hz. I throw that box in my car when I need to actually load the hatch with other gear. Puts a lot of other subs I've had to shame! Except for my Q-Class 8's of course.
My brother have 2 Alpine Type R 12's in his Pontiac Grand Ville convertible and it beats like 6 12's on a Rockford 2000 watt amp. It's unbelievable to say the least drops like 4 15 and bang like 6 12
Y'all gone make me buy some Alpine type R's. I been looking at them. My next car I'm dropping it off in Douglasville. I ain't screwing around either. One thing I can say is...dd is no joke. I heard one 18 tear a truck apart. I'm thinking about two 18s in a Yukon. I might go with incriminator too. Who knows?
@@bigwilstile I smoked a brand new set of alpine type r d4 12s on a kicker cxa 1800.1 in literally 1 hour or less I drove a 25 minute drive somewhere and back they started sounding extremely good right before the went up in smoke the coils was hot so was the magnets I returned them to best buy the next day got my 400 and something bux back bought 2 12 kicker comp r d4 subs in the kicker ported box for like 450 they took then1800 no problem and then upgraded to a smart 3 k taramp I could give those subs about 1500 rms each before they get stinky and start bottoming out they only rated like 500 or 600 rms each and take triple the power clean. Those comp r subs are sleepers excellent sound quaility
@@joshholden8561 I blew a coil on one of my 15 db3Ks on a CT Sounds AT 1400.1. So I threw the 12 Type Rs and they took it like a champ until I got rid of my truck! I think I'm gonna go with Q class
DD has had my attention for awhile, i just cant bring myself to buy one without hearing them first and NO ONE around me runs them. Wanting to run dual 8's in a slot ported enclosure in my explorer (have to have room for my 3 year daughter old and a 120 pound dog still).
I remember when I didn't want 10's, the owner of the audio shop told me that the 10's he had in a box would be perfect for my Accord. And that he'd sell them to me at almost half price with the box free. I still had doubts, but they put them in my trunk and damn near blew the rear deck. I think they may have damaged the 6x9's back there that I had to replace later on. They was so powerful, I had them turn the amp down so no one would blow the 6x9's and the deck. That was the 2510, the 1506 hit just like bigger subs too!

They are actually quite impressive for that performance level of a sub. Were they the only company to do the octagon cone? Once I looked into the basket on that sub and the design I am almost convinced that kicker may have models the q-class after it. Especially with the rubber surround. Lol just one of my theories. Something to think about.

I have a lot of knowledge on 8’s because I’ve owned a lot of them since 2013 till present day. My opinion is just like everyone else’s, everyone got one. If you happy with your 9510 then let that suffice. My opinion on it shouldn’t matter.
I had 4 Dd 1506 esps in my f150 before swapping to a seat lift and 4 kicker q class 8s and the mbe box the 6s hit hard but the q class where Deff over all better both ran on a dd m1d
Did u say tight gaps causes hier sensitivity? That changes with ohm load of the sub correct? A d4 coil will fit in a d2 gap but a d2 will not fit in a d4 gap . That sensitivity comment related to tight gaps threw me off .
I have a pair of dd3515 I blew a coil on one them I believe it was a manufacturer defect because one subwoofer was stiff and the other one was softer than normal I called them up to explain the situation and they told me that both coils were the same? I'm not dumb they didn't have any parts in stock because when they shipped me the subwoofers back the didn't have the rubber seals in stock I been buying subwoofers from dd since 2006?They used to really take care of me but I guess if you don't have 5000 dollars to spend with them? You are a nobody? So they are just sitting in my garage? Maybe one day I will have them rebuild but for now I will be running sundown and psi and massive xlr?
There's USA fully built custom dd subs and there's china built mass produced dd subs barevids RUclips channel does a factory tour of DD and explains there's differences in DD subs manufacturing.
Well sounds like josh or someone in charge needs to be gotten ahold of I'd call them but just a fyi they test their built in house subs 2 times before they ship off .

They were short on supplies so I believe they gave me a softer spider on one of them because when I put a 5k on them it blew the coil on the one that was soft? Anyway when I get a chance I will send them out to have them reconed again
@@ceciljones1248 that's sux those cause they if u a ND it in for a recone they are supposed to hit ur motor with the magnitizer too they do sell drop in recones if ur capable of doing it does both subs spider look the same ? Same amount of ripples and color ? Or is it obvious difference u sure they sent ur sub back and not mixed it with another of same model cause alot alot of ppl custom order different soft parts then what comes in the models josh creates.

Just found out the worst news on DD amplifier and subwoofer. Might as well buy Boss audio, DD same just higher-ups on price. China China China cheap made subwoofer and amplifiers. I followed Mbe till the lies started do your owe research..... Which Mbe fail to realize there's to much information and to tell lies period. Ported boxes boomy or seal for tight bass notes... DD just put there logos only.... Don't waste your money unless you just have to much to burn.... DD use to be manufactured S. Korea with U.S. voice coils those days gone 2016. Paying for a name China has same product without the logos of DD.🤣
I am looking for a shallow-mount sub woofers that can fit my BMW activehybrid 5 series under the front seats 💺 I don't know the measurements I just know they need to be shallow-mount subs please help me having a hard time getting what I need

I think DD is light years ahead of the competition! Have you ever reviewed the Alpine Type R 8. I had a pair of 12s and they sounded awesome!

It's for places where volume is a concern, but not mounting depth. Such as under the seat of a pickup truck

what causes a surround to rip?
Many things. Overexcursion, extreme temps(cold mainly), rubbing on something when played causing wear/weak points, old surrounds dry out etc

Way different than kicker or skar, I have 2 8” DD In a under the seat box and it bumps way harder than 2 12 kickers or even a 15
