Lot of people in their 20s, 30s, 40s go on with this lifestyle and have the idea back in their head that, this isn't the real me; my prime life hasn't begun yet; one day I'll finally do 'x' or live 'x' way. Then they finally themselves in their last years and look back and realize, that was your life.
For a long time I lived the way I wanted and all my dreams came true, but I didn't know that this was very unusual. When Covid began all my dreams ended and I was stuck as an essential worker while everyone else got to stay home. Was talking to my essential worker colleagues and every night (worked night shift) I would tell them a story from the days when my life was better. They were facinated with the stories I told them- the adventures I had, the things I did, the people I met - but to me this was my normal life for a long time - my coworkers had been living their lives like 9-5 robots for their whole lives and had no idea that there was more out there for them. I was shocked. Now with restrictions ending I have gone back to my adventurous ways in newer and even more exciting ways.
Or you're like me and realize in your elementary years that "this isn't the real me; my prime life hasn't begun yet; and I'll likely never enter into any kind of prime life because the way I was born is just *******. And at 32 years old, you know that you were right all along.

My problem with the 9-5 salary type jobs is that I would get all my work done by like 2pm then I am expected to be there for 8 hours so I would just stare at the wall or help my coworkers with their tasks out of sheer boredom. I now have a job where I get to go home when the work is done and I can get payed for a full 8 hours.
@@Picardssiette Trade work is where its at, many of my coworkers don't even take a lunch they just power through and get the work done by 1-2pm every day lol.
@Bioman Smith I work as a plumber. My boss will give me work and pay me the expected hours the job should take. I think its a common practice in most trades. When you get a few years of experience and speed you can get the work done much faster than what is expected. I know some guys who will get paid for 20+ hours a day because they are getting multiple jobs done so fast. Working like that WILL lead to burnout and mistakes though.
This was my life for years. Luckily was finally able to break out of the grind and get a remote job. All the best to all fellow wagecucks, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Ever since COVID getting a remote job has never been easier.
@@aketchupman5103 Completely disagree. As a remote worker, I can live where I want, work wherever I want, work whatever hours I want, and be judged more on my output rather than perception. When parents, boomers, and the media keep harping video games as a waste of time. How TF do they think it's OKAY to work your ass off 9 to 5 daily, suffer from burnout or depression, and losing your main purpose. Society is a very cruel mess and someday God will clean them up.
Work is slavery boss are complete greedy cynical Who cares only about money and don't give a fuck about employee since they are in the position of power
Not even 9-5 daily even. Many people who have decent to well paid jobs/careers, and are in those positions to provide for a family of 4 for instance, (while not exactly specific) end up working more like 60-70 hours a week. You start at 8-9am and end up working late to catch up on things or if you have kids etc and you end up with like at best 1-2 hours downtime a day
So your main purpose is to play video games? I put down the video games when I was child. If I wasted time playing video games today, I'd be a man-child living in a basement apartment, working at a fast food joint and complaining on YT comments that life is unfair. If you can't handle a simple 9 to 5 job without suffering burnout or depression, then maybe you're the problem. Honestly 9-5 isn’t that bad… and assuming he’s something of an accountant maybe with his own office and clean elegant clothes doesn’t seem to bad of a life to me. There are lots of dirty unhealthy borderline killing jobs that people work in 7-7 every day and come back home all sweaty and dirty full of dust and metal particles from welding and smoke , literally jobs that cut your lifespan into half, and barley the profit you expect from a job like that. I should know , because I worked in places like that and so if you ask me, if you’re coming in with a fancy tie to work and sit down in front of the computer all day making analitical charts of annual capitals while working 9-5 and you’re satisfied with your wage and you still have some precious hours of the day left for you because you’re literally home at 6 o clock while others crawl home at 8 just enough time for them to take a shower, eat and go fuck themselves to sleep.. Then from what I’ve seen here wojak is not really having it that hard if he works just 9-5, he should consider after hours to get his wage up. Just saying..

This is why its very important to have a life outside of work, a hobby, a passion something that makes you tick, that makes you want to live. Sure, doesn't pay very well for the genre we play (grindcore, death grind lol) But, I do it for love and if I didn't have that I would probably be a depressed alcoholic. Work/life balance people.
9 to 5 is rough, 8 to 4 gets you out a little ealier but is still difficult daily. Luckily, we have more options to work remote and sometimes dont even have to commute. What I've learned throughout my career is that you need to do things youd rather not do to not only get ahead but stay above water. Ideally we would all like to do something we love, we can get there but it takes time. That is why it's so important to maintain a healthy lifestyle outside of work that ends up being rewarding from your work. Create joy for yourself in openings and the 9 to 5, 8 to 4 is just a stepping stone to get you to once place to the next. But be wary not to get trapped in this vicious cycle, remain mindful of what your day to day looks like.

Bullshit, 8 hours a day is a lot. And it's not even close to just 9-5. You need 1-2 hours to wake up, get ready and commute to work, another hour for lunch, and another 30-60 minutes to commute back. That's easily 11-12 hours of your day, you subtract another 8 for a full nights sleep, you're looking at 4-6 hours at best of time that's your own per day, not even accounting for the fact you're likely going to be tired waking up early and working all day.

The sad thing about this is that everyone thinks they can escape it but if you think about it, if we all escaped this lifestyle, society would crumble. We have to live like this, otherwise the nice products and services we have wouldn’t exist
Not so much. We work like dogs nowadays to support a system that gave us solutions to problems we didn't have in the first place and it's getting harder by the day. Those nice products and services... are most of those really needed in life? At least in the not so distant past you could have options and could do a lot of stuff with the money you earned. Not anymore. You are just another cog in a perpetually moving machine that just wants to deplete your energy until you grow old and die.
@Theguynextdoot All of that is way easier said than done. Do you have a business you founded? Have you invested? Most stocks cost like $30 a piece and they issue around $1 in dividends per year. This notion of 9 to 5 being slavery is often for the people that find themselves at the wrong companies or just unmotivated individuals who don't want to do an honest day's work. I would love for anyone to chime in here and and tell me that I'm wrong and actually explain logically why a 9 to 5 is a bad thing if you're at a good company and doing work that fulfills your purpose to make a difference unless your purpose is just sipping coladas

You're wrong in the fact that the majority of jobs are not going to be remotely fulfilling or provide you with purpose, you're very likely going to be a cog in a machine doing a task you don't care about and/or dislike 8+ hours a day, 40+ hours a week, 50+ weeks a year, for 40+ years of your life.
Reasons are just excuses in fancy clothes
Fuck you’re scaring the shit out of me with this thoughts

Ugh, I hate this mentality. You could apply this to legitimately any circumstance, no matter how bad it is, to try to justify the situation. Still better than working 12 hours or early shifts. Or night shifts. Wojak still had freetime from 17:00 to 23:00 every weekday. Its all good

livin' like that for 3 years now and i can't take it anymore
1970: 9-5 was the dream of every human
2022: 9-5 is the worst nightmare for most human
What changes? Nixon took of the dollar from gold standard in 1972. Inflation is killing the working class.
If you find mistakes in language, i don’t mind - I’m only a poor german worker.
Money was never real to begin with. When i was in school, they taught us that the gold standard was taken off back the 1930’s. People who continue believing that money is real or that it ever was, are the real poor people in this world, and they will never get it. No one ever became rich following orders they learned in school.
1970: 9-5 man can raise 5 kids in a big house and drives a Cadillac
2022: 9-5 man struggle to pay rent on time in a tiny 1 room shitty apartment, overworked but get less paid, not enough sleep, gives up finding a partner, saves up some money only be lose on bloody shitcoins
@Endless Nameless Seriously. Whats the point of living if I never get to experience the upsides and only get to experience the downsides?
@Endless Nameless I thought u just said almost anything is bearable with a GF? What made u want to kys at 21? I’m more like the former scenario in your previous comment; never had a GF and all my life is work 8hours/5 days a week and it’s pretty much sucking all my life energy and stuffing me deeper into an apathetic state.
The Bitcoin Standard is our only hope.
i truly hope you make a living with these videos.
Heh another of these channels - can’t get enough. I love the concept of our old friend Wojack having a family! Ever been on Dustin. O dagger and Millenia Thinkers smiliD channels
the audio immersion is great man, very unique sounds make the video for me.
If you can pay all your bills and work only 40 hours a week you are doing something half right
The fact this is even an argument to begin with is sad
This video hit the soul thank you whoever you are , gotta get out of your patterns ways and try to better yourself as well as the days go don’t consume alcohol all the time it’s not good for you instead lifts weights as well drink water , read books .
I work 7 to 5 in an outdoor laborous job. I couldn't work inside in an office but in all reality the structure and routine I actually found I prefer. I like getting up and out and working every day and I don't necessarily think that it's a bad thing for many people. Most people need routine to stay healthy and sane. If what you're doing is not for you then it's not for you but I don't think just shitting on a regular 1st shift job situation is always accurate
That's why I became a cabin crew. Fuck the money or social status. Money isn't great but lifestyle is amazing. Nothing ever comes close to being away meeting new people and seeing different places. Having beer in Vietnam and sushi the next day in Japan. Money isn't great but it's not everything. I'd rather do that then work as 9 to 5 CEO all day stuck in the office or meetings ...at some point we all die. I'd rather die with great memories than ever increasing bank account.
@@gryn1s you added nothing with your comment and tried to retract everything from his statement. Soul sucking

I love this, very inspirational!
Wojak 9 to 5 is the luckier brother of wojak 8 to 6, cousin of wojak 7 to 7
I'm miserable, I've never worn such cool clothes, I'm living like a bum
Genuine advice here: if you're relatively young or starting out your career, consider sales. From personal experience they're a lot more flexible than 9-5s and it teaches you invaluable communication/social skills that you will need later in life.
Gravestone and quote at the end was pretty good.
This is why its very important to have a life outside of work, a hobby, a passion something that makes you tick, that makes you want to live. You don't have to necessarilly earn a shit load of money off it, but something thats good for the soul. For me, its music and playing shows with my band. Sure, doesn't pay very well for the genre we play (grindcore, death grind lol) But, I do it for love and if I didn't have that I would probably be a depressed alcoholic.
Work/life balance people.
Your the inspiration thank you for people live like this like horses with blinkers on.
Is death grind based on the 9 to 5 also ? .. sounds very applicable
But be wary not to get trapped in this vicious cycle, remain mindful of what your day to day looks like.

atleast he has a career in an office doing important things. i stock shelves as a grown man
you're the backbone of society and even if you don't feel like it at most times I, for example appreciate people like you. It sucks doing the job but I'm always happy and feel blessed being able to reach into the shelf and grab the product that made me smile upon seeing it when passing by!
I respect a honest days work, you are important.
trust me there's nothing more meaningless and soul crushing than office work I'd rather work in mcdonalds
@@labt8194 why you say that ? Lol
The ironic part is that this wojack has it pretty good. Stable 9-5 job, not living in a pod etc. The way they trapped our generation is that they made even this minumum hard to reach with all of the precarius platform jobs that promise freedom but are in reality a huge trap that end up making you work all the time. Eventually it makes it hard for one with 9-5 job to rebel because it feels sort of good not being as deep in the shit as the other poor souls.
"One must imagine Wojak happy"
Wow, that was me at 18 years old, then I quit this shitty life and I m travelling around the world since then (22 now) . Life is amazing!
I love my job and love working. Seems like this only applies to people who hate their work? I have hated my job and this is how I felt.
I get up every day and go to an office but my work is challenging and rewarding so I am usually excited.
"Seems like this only applies to people who hate their work?" Sherlock fucking Holmes over here lol
9 to 5 is not a lot lmao. Other countries have 40-48 hour work weeks and employees do more hours if it’s necessary.
Nobody gives a shit about those countries, bro.
I don’t even think 9-5 exists anymore… sadly 8-6 is the new 9-5
Definitely true
8-4 for me

6.45 to 6.30 if you include the commute
This shit is terrifying.
The sad thing about this is that everyone thinks they can escape it but if you think about it, if we all escaped this lifestyle, society would crumble. We have to live like this, otherwise the nice products and services we have wouldn’t exist
Inflation will happen
Not so much. We work like dogs nowadays to support a system that gave us solutions to problems we didn't have in the first place and it's getting harder by the day. Those nice products and services... are most of those really needed in life? At least in the not so distant past you could have options and could do a lot of stuff with the money you earned. Not anymore. You are just another cog in a perpetually moving machine that just wants to deplete your energy until you grow old and die.
@@elsotanodechaz You have a choice. You can enter the system or get out.
@Theguynextdoot All of that is way easier said than done. Do you have a business you founded? Have you invested? Most stocks cost like $30 a piece and they issue around $1 in dividends per year. That’s 30 years just to make $1 of profit
Also, no family or children? Prepare to feel extremely lonely and unfulfilled past the age of 35 onwards 👍🏻
@@SpitfireMLG Not completely true. I would recommend looking into income etfs that pay monthly. Like qyld,Jepi and nusi. They have good yields and fairly safe. As long as you put a good amount towards it each month then your money will compound a lot faster than as if you were to buy a stock like Apple or Microsoft.
Yeah. Things are going to be much, much worse than this in the next forty years.
Bro what?
The fact is, this world sucks. It's crossed my mind that maybe I exist purely to fill up empty space, like an NPC in a videogame. An existential slave, if you will. Forced to endure a meager existence from which I cannot escape, for the sole purpose of entertaining some higher being who exists just outside our perception, perhaps. We all must do our existential duty, serve our cosmic time ;(
Slightly more optimisic ver. You're actually a diety who lost a bet and had to live a shitty mortal life for 90 years. When you die you go back to the blissful life
You are a bot, a A.I. inside an electromagetic simulation we use to call live. You fill up an empty space so that some players can play and enjoy the simulation, actors, politicians, billionaires.
You cannot change the world only working 40 hours a week.
This is the problem with the current generation of wannabe millionaires and crypto scammers. Everyone doesn't want to do hard work but yet doesn't realize that there has to be someone to do it. Not everyone is going to lead the millionaire lifestyle unless they're a millionaire and especially some of the millionaires I know the millionaires I know live the most stressful lives leading powerful companies. The issue is that everyone is watching influencer Instagram lifestyles and deluding themselves into believing that that's normal. Most people are unemployed and to even have a steady job to make a reasonable income and put food on the table should be more than enough while enhancing quality time that you spend with loved ones.
I work for many millionaires (own a gardening business in a rich part of Surrey, UK) most are equally miserable and lonely (even the married ones)
The youngest daughter of my wealthiest client tried offing herself twice. Money gives you more opportunity to find solutions, but not the solution itself.
@@forman208 I agree a lot of jobs wont fulfill. But then what is one to do?
Listen brothers don't let yourselves be the reason why you're life is miserable
Wait does he drive to work or use public transport? Maybe he drove first but switched to public transport seeing it’s too darn congested.

9-5 sounds like a luxury compared to 4am-230pm
Guys 9 to 5 is nothing, you can still have a decent private life with money! Try asking someone from Korea or Japan....
