I love Russ so much I have since Seattle if they can beat ravens this week I believe Super Bowl is possible but until they beat the ravens I don’t know for sure
That sounds good for this year. He didn't ask big ben to play conservative & limit the mistakes. He let ben throw that rock. So I agree with most of what he said but it changes with the qb
The pass wasn’t the problem. The OC making that call and throwing to a no name receiver was the problem. Russell did not make that call but executed the pass correctly. If the receiver was Jerry Rice, Michael Irvin, DK Metcalk or etc., touchdown!
I keep telling people this. He looked off the defenders, adjusted the cadence to fake the run, and he threw the ball with at right magnitude (direction and velocity). There was nothing else Russ could do. Jermaine Kearse or Doug Baldwin would’ve caught that ball because they would’ve broken more strongly towards the ball instead of the goal line, which was the expected point of contact. Russ threw ONE INT in a SB and it wasn’t even his fault. Mahomes threw 5 INTs in his first two SBs, played like sh!t in both, and should’ve lost the first right along with the second. Russ faced down and outperformed two of the top-5 greatest QBs to ever lace up cleats. Mahomes lost to one of those same QBs almost a de ace later, when he was probably wearing a diaper, and nearly lost another to his former understudy - a guy who belonged on a modeling runway instead of a football field. People also forget that the LoB lost the 12-point 4th quarter lead Russ built. Nobody talks about that! Where’s their accountability for not holding Brady, who wasn’t even attacking them all night but instead dunked and dunked? Nah! Everybody just likes attacking and bullying Russ because they know he won’t fight back.
Can you imagine the mess if they have to put Justin Fields in the back half the season? He will get his butt handed to him and quick against that tough of a schedule. Wilson can go in there and probably win 60% of those games. There’s a good chance they can be seven - one and the first half the season.
That’s why it makes no sense to bench Russ ever! Plus, Russ tends to play his best football against his stiffest competition. If there’s anybody you want for that second half, it’s Russ. If Russ struggles, there will be an “injury.” JF will start games 5-8. And then Russ will come back in after the bye week to start the more difficult games. He had better produce then! But Russ isn’t going to struggle.
Plus Russ won his last 5/6 games! We have a young strong but untested O-line. Another reason we don’t need Fields in there fumbling the football. With Russell there is a chance to start off 6-2 or even 7-1. Fields would only win 40% at best!!
Interesting take by Sherman. Old school football = balance rushing & passing game, good defense, and few turnovers and penalties. Russell has been successful in this system. Long sustaining drives, with points, helped the Seattle Seahawks defense to be good not great for a short period of time. The Legion of Boom wasn’t great in the Super Bowl game against New England in the second half. They gave up 14 points in the 4th quarter and the New England offense did not need 3 down to get a 1st down in those drives.Russell wasn't the problem.
Tomlin never had a losing season because he had HOF QB and had the luxury of playing the Browns and Bengals 4 times a year when those franchises were absolutely dreadful. He's without a doubt the most overrated head coach in history

If Pittsburg can effectively run the football like last season, they will have early leads often. Then Wilson needs to pass only if he has to. Wilson passing isn't a horror show.
@@williamcooke6056: Russ’s passing is beautiful! He still needs to pass it around 30 times a game. A QB can wear out his arm by passing 40 times a game, but he can go cold by passing too infrequently. Twenty-five (25) a game is too few attempts for Russ, although he did have one of his most efficient seasons (2018) throwing 26-27 A/G. I thought he deserved the MVP over Mahomes that year based on WAR, but Mahomes had the volume stats that dazzled people’s minds. Drew Brees was arguably MVP that year too. Wins Above Replacement (WAR) measures a player’s value to his team based on production and a host of other factors. Russ’s actual production was: 3,449 Yards 35 TDs 7 INTs 65.6% Complete 111 Passer Rating 427 Attempts (inflated by Russ’s 4th quarter come from behind attempts) The sneaky fact is that Russ was every bit as productive on a per-throw basis that year, throwing for the equivalent of about 4,800+ yards, 49 TDs, 9 INTs when controlled for the difference in pass attempts. Russ also had 65.6% Complete and a 111 Passer Rating to go with those extrapolated volume stats. Mahomes? 5,097 Yards vs. Russ’s 4,800+ equivalent 50 TDs vs. Russ’s 49 equivalent 12 INTs vs. Russ’s 9 equivalent 66.0% Complete vs. Russ’s 65.6% 113 Passer Rating vs. Russ’s 111 593 Attempts vs. Russ’s 427 Those are awfully similar stats. Yet, Russ had no one like Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, or Mecole Hardman, had a poor O-Line, and was playing in a run-first offense. Russ didn’t receive a single MVP vote that year. He was even better the next year (2019), and PFF did in fact select Russ as the NFL MVP by a wide margin! Russ’s 2019 WAR was about 4.2. Mahomes was a distant second at about 2.85. Anyway, even Russ’s more recent metrics suggest that he is anything but washed or even “declined,” as they claim.

Not to mention OC-Smith will put Russ into position to succeed.. If OC made Tannihill looked above average... IJS
You’re only talking about his first three years in Seattle. After that, Russ was carrying that team on his own. What precluded the Seahawks from having Texans success was Pete Carroll’s bad drafting in the face of a lot of unexpected career-ending attrition. People forget that five key players essentially had their careers unexpectedly ended in Seattle between 2015 and 2018. Earl Thomas’s might as well have ended there, his one year success in Baltimore notwithstanding. The LoB was ostensibly finished in 2015. Russ had an intact LoB for just 3 years of his career.
Look at God working on Richard Sherman. His opinion is a complete 180 degree turn from the past two seasons. Thank goodness for this new and improved reading.
Sherm’s opinion about Russ hasn’t changed. He’s had his criticisms, and he has praised Russ at times too. He hasn’t changed. He once caused for Russ to be MVP, and he was sincere. He turned bitter when Pete Carroll called that stupid play and cost everyone a ring! People have been extremely unfair to Russ, including Sherm. But Russ didn’t help things by running his mouth so much and putting himself out there…everything from the stroller incident to naming himself “Mr. Unlimited,” to his corny commercial and janky slogans, to proposing another baby to Ciara on the Ellen Show, to videotaping everything, to allowing his wife to embarrass him publicly, to talking way too much during interviews, to faking his workouts and bragging about the high-knees, to not wording himself correctly when he told Seattle media that he wanted to go to a city that knows how to win (he didn’t mean to put down Seattle). Russ has made many mistakes. Being dishonest about things that we all knew should’ve upset him. People don’t like fake. Russ has been somewhat pretentious at times. But he has been that way to protect himself. What people don’t understand about certain guys is that their worst nightmare is being gated by everyone. How ironic is it that Russ, out of fear of crafting a bad image or branding, behaved in a way that has crafted a bad image and branding (to many), and led to people hating him? Russ wasn’t guarded because he gates people. He was guarded because he understood how important it was to please people. I believe it was the same with Magic, MJ, Sugar Ray Leonard, Tiger Woods, Alex Rodriguez, and others who tried to craft perfect images. It never works unless you’re Grant Hill. Fans want Charles Barkley. Fans want guys like Mike Tyson over guys like Russ. Or, just be Derek Jeter and don’t talk! If you want to be private, be all the way private. That’s another thing: during interviews, Russ takes 100 words to say what can be said in 10. He doesn’t understand that, to fans, that is like listening to nails on a chalkboard…long and slow! Having said that, he’s still one of the best to ever do it, and he doesn’t deserve the relentless attacks, the lies, the gaslighting, and the orchestrated effort to destroy his entire legacy. Richard helped start that fire by bringing locker room sh!t to the media. He and any team members who opened the door for all of this will have to answer for it one day, not by the hand of man but a higher power. If he’s at peace? Great. If not, he should do the work to get there. He had no business taking things outside the locker room and making them public. In fact, none of them did! Now, the media is trying to ruin Russ, and the LoB is like a bunch of arsonists who only wanted to start a small fire not anticipating the possibility that the entire house would get burned down. I think people have forgotten that Russ was just a young guy trying to find his way. What angers me is that criminals in the NFL get treated better than Russ does.
Tbf Sherm can't deny Russ' talent even if he doesn't like him as a dude. Doug Baldwin didn't like Russ but the season he retired said Russ is one of the 5-7 most talented QBs in the league. I also know they met up at a dinner after Pete was fired and talked. They probably were able to resolve some issues they had

All negative. Russ will have 300-400 yard games, he will throw over the middle, and his sacks will be reduced this year. The 2 that didn’t were drops by his WRs. He attempted 16 such passes. 10 were deemed on target and 0 resulted in INTs.
Do you know what a gradient boosting machine (GBM) is? It’s a supervised Machine-Learning algorithm. It is used in regression and classification. In each sequence, the model processes the data with more granularity to optimize each subsequent sequence. This reduces the likelihood of errors occurring. I took 10% of the data aside to train the model and then used the other 90% for testing. We’re talking about 12 years of data…roughly 200 games worth of statistics. I used the model to predict the likelihood of Russ throwing for 4,000 yards and 35 TDs based on a lot of data. According to the confusion matrix I composed, my statistical model predicted that Russ would exceed 4,000+ yards and 35 TDs this year in about 100,000 simulations, and the model accuracy, precision, and F1 scores were all above 90%. The regression line represents random chance. The Area Under the Curve (ROC/AUC graph) indicates an accurate model if it is large. The closer the curve is to the regression line, the less likely the model is to be reliable. Russ’s data had a huge curve extending toward the upper-left of the Y-Axis. So, we have a model that not only processes the data well, it is accurate and makes great probabilistic predictions for Russ this year. The reason is simple: I found away to control for Nathaniel Hackett’s dumb decision-making and Sean Payton’s preference for quick on-schedule throws, reducing Russ’s time to release to 1.9 seconds on average. Russ is still sacked 25 times in my model, but he hits the numbers. Do you realize that Russ exceeded his 2023 projections and did it despite sitting for the final two games of the season? He will likely do the same this year.
Russ can still do some dishes, but he can't cook like in 2019. His durability will be an issue this season. His height (truly 5'10") forces him to hold onto the ball longer until he can move to an angle to see down field. This leads to more sacks. Song remains the same
Sabotage Sean Payton WAS the chaos in Denver. He undermined Wilson and benched him when Wilson had the Broncos in playoff contention. Payton is OVERRATED!
You mean with their 8 straight losing seasons?? Yeah right. They benched him over a clause in his contact while still in contention for a playoff spot. You think that was smart?? Ok Lamont

Anyone who doesn’t know that Pittsburgh has six may as well just throw open the window and shout to the world, “I don’t know $hit about football!!!”
😂😂😂
Tomlin one of the best coaches in the NFL
Rus taking shots on play action when the running games working is his wheel house.
Well said Sherm
If Russell Wilson can somehow win a SB, this will be one of the greatest sports redemptions/comebacks of all time! Also GIVE MIKE TOMLINSON COACH OF THE F***’N YEAR!!!
I actually agree with everything he just said
Richard Sherman isn’t a Justin Fields fan either. Fields will probably end up in Cleveland or Las Vegas where he’ll be more appreciated. Poor guy, he has so much potential but no one is really gonna give him the chance. Keep your head up Justin, you’ll find a team that will invest in you bro🙏🙌🏽
Real funny how all of a sudden you’re talking about how good he is.
I love Russ so much I have since Seattle if they can beat ravens this week I believe Super Bowl is possible but until they beat the ravens I don’t know for sure
Justin Fields didn't get that memo Richard as far as Russell Wilson getting the starting qb job. JF betted on himself
Fields is only in there cause russ got hurt, another few weeks of losing and russ will be in, then they can lose w him too
Richard Sherman is making it sound like Russ is basically Trent Dilfer. He does not want to give Russ his just due!
Spot on
basically bare minimum
Facts 💯
He’s so right y’all I love what he’s saying bringing in Justin was a test for Russell to see how much he wanted to the staring spot at QB
That sounds good for this year. He didn't ask big ben to play conservative & limit the mistakes. He let ben throw that rock. So I agree with most of what he said but it changes with the qb
"Solid product" lmao
There was NEVER A COMPETITION.. fields is NOT A STARTING QB as of yet!!
PP just lowered receiving yards on McMillian and raised the yards on Noah then lowered the payout even more 🤔
Interesting take by Sherman.
He was the one big problem that cost them the game. Interception
Big facts
Watson fell off after the "situation"
Richard should be in the broadcast booth not Brady. White Steeler fan here...
💯
Tomlin never had a losing season because he had HOF QB and had the luxury of playing the Browns and Bengals 4 times a year when those franchises were absolutely dreadful.
He's without a doubt the most overrated head coach in history
This did age well but didn’t at the same time…
Damn....
Fields is a Toyota
Wilson is a Lexus
They “went and got Russel Wilson@ because he was free. Fields’s it’s the future - was obvious from the beginning.
Honestly interested in how that goes. Also in if Tomlin can draw out Fields, since his previous coaching experience was.... Well, we all saw how bad it was😆 I believe Fields is better than what he was. Bryce Young too for that matter!
Feilds is ight I just think russ still better ngl
@@AlanBaller10 For sure, but he's a veteran. Fields didn't have much of a chance in Chicago, so I want to see what he can do. IDK, maybe he sucks. But it's gotta be better than Bears Fields ...
@@gohawks3571 Heard the same about Trubisky....Yet Trubisky was better in Chicago.

How bout making the playoffs
Richard Sherman didn't Mike Tomlin try to trip a player mid play? he can't possibly be that bright
didn't Sean Payton put bounties on players? Suspended for a season but yet held in high regard
Give it time, once russ starts fumbling the ball and getting sacked you'll change your mind.
Russ can win games, for sure, and in streaks, the ceiling is there though, well below the promised land
Russ will pass it at least 25 times a game. 35 is probably his ceiling, but that’s his exact range! So you’re wrong about that one, Sherm.
Russ’s actual production was:
3,449 Yards
35 TDs
7 INTs
65.6% Complete
111 Passer Rating
427 Attempts (inflated by Russ’s 4th quarter come from behind attempts)
The sneaky fact is that Russ was every bit as productive on a per-throw basis that year, throwing for the equivalent of about 4,800+ yards, 49 TDs, 9 INTs when controlled for the difference in pass attempts.
Russ also had 65.6% Complete and a 111 Passer Rating to go with those extrapolated volume stats.
Mahomes?
5,097 Yards vs. Russ’s 4,800+ equivalent
50 TDs vs. Russ’s 49 equivalent
12 INTs vs. Russ’s 9 equivalent
66.0% Complete vs. Russ’s 65.6%
113 Passer Rating vs. Russ’s 111
593 Attempts vs. Russ’s 427
Those are awfully similar stats.
He knows the formula of being average
Well just think how many that couldn't be average
In that division to still make the playoffs without a good QB for the past few years with a winning record as well. I feel like most coaches would’ve landed lottery picks.
Damn league avg isn’t over .500 so I’m confused on what you think avg is
He’s never had a losing season in 15-16 years! What’s average about that? I’m a Cowboys fan, I know what 3 straight years of 8-8 looks like. Idk how you got 17 likes on comment 😂
@@zcchrnot sure what the point you're making their? I'm an old Steeler fan so it probably flew over my head LOL I just want to say I really enjoy Tony Romo and Troy Aikman's professionalism and the insight they bring as announcers. In my opinion they are the top two in broadcasting for the NFL. As far as the X Bengal Cris Collinsworth there's a lot of insight as well. But his voice makes my skin crawl LOL. 😅 Good luck to your Cowboys, obviously I don't want them to tie my Steelers in Super Bowl wins. Same with San Fran and the reason I'm concerned with Love being with the Packers. Their edging up there along with KC. Homes in KC are not on the top of my list now. That's what happened to this old man when his team fell short. I still have a lot of hate in me I just turned it to politics instead of football for now. But if KC pizzas in the regular season and then goes on to win another Super I'm sure it'll be coming out of both my ears. 😳😮😂👍✌️🤙
It’s funny how everyone outside of Pittsburgh actually thinks Mike Tomlin is a good coach.
Pittsburgh is spoiled.
@@WalterArritt yeah maybe. But that doesn’t change the fact that Tomlin is perhaps the most overrated coach in football history. Our city used to be about winning Super Bowls. Tomlin got one from Bill Cower’s team he came close a few times all bcuz of Big Ben. Should have let Tomlin go and kelt Bruce Arians like 15 years ago
I can't stand Richard Sherman
Russell is a great game manager, and that's what that team is looking for.

Tomlin is in no way a great coach. The Steelers have one of the best front offices in football. Tomlin has been lucky to be there.
The front office has completely changed since he's been there lol
Big Ben is gone so he's going to struggle as a coach now
He will take 60 sacks in a season though
Rich, We wanna hear the voice, that made you world wide recognizable. We don’t wanna hear your “white” voice lol 🤦🏽.
Couldn’t believe you brought out your Stanford voice 😂🤦🏽
If Russ can hav similar production he had in his last season with Denver with the Steelers with an already good defense.. similar formula he had in Seattle.. when Denver went on that 6game winning streak, Russ was allowed to play to his strengths as well Denver defense played well...
The 1 year contract says it all about what Mike thinks about Russ.
All that noise cones from writers & talking heads on TV.
Well this didn’t work out
Eat crow sherm
RUN THE BALL
Same guy that talked bad about RW
Tbf Sherm can't deny Russ' talent even if he doesn't like him as a dude. Doug Baldwin didn't like Russ but the season he retired said Russ is one of the 5-7 most talented QBs in the league.
I also know they met up at a dinner after Pete was fired and talked. They probably were able to resolve some issues they had
This ain't work well😂
He is washed!!
This didn’t age well…Fields is 2-0 as a starter and looked real good yesterday like he’s almost comfortable with the offense..
Russ sucked in Denver and he will suck in Pittsburgh, he just ain't got it anymore
“I think he [Russ] made the best of it (i.e., a tough situation in Denver)” is code for, “Denver is a sh!thole organization, and Russ never should’ve left Seattle to go there!”

Sean Payton isn't a bad coach, he got a LOT from Drew Brees, he couldn't get anything out of Wilson, maybe it's Wilson?
Yet he hasn't gotten anything out if anyone else. Brees is not the only Qb he has coached
@@jamesfetcho6315 he's been a HC for 16 seasons, Drew Brees was the QB for 14 of them. Jameis Winston had a 103 QBR with 14/3 TDS/ints in 7 games before injury, and Russell Wilson was crap. Wilson was the worst QB Payton ever had, and it isn't close.

Get used to never seeing a 300 yard passing game
Sacks coming in bunches
Dumb turnovers
No passes to the middle of the field
Check down merchant
Misses wide open receivers
Using timeouts to avoid delay of game
Sincerely ,

All negative. Russ will have 300-400 yard games, he will throw over the middle, and his sacks will be reduced this year. He commits 2-3 dumb turnovers a year, like Rodgers, Mahomes, LJ, Burrow, and every other QB in the league.
Your organization sucks, and your coach sabotaged Russ. Russ’s 2023 Ranks:
#1 4th Qtr comebacks (4)
#1 GW-Drives (4)
#2 Adj. Completion Rate (78.8%)
#2 TD% (5.9)
#4 Completion Differentials
#5 TD-INT Ratio (26:8)
#7 Passer Rating (98.0)
#8 QB Rushing (341, 15 games)
#9 TDs (26)
#9 INT Rate (1.8)
#10 INTs (8)
#11 Completion% (66.4%)
Sports Info Solutions (SIS): Russ completed 6 passes of 40+ air yards past the original LoS (for 301 yards), good for #1 in the NFL. 4 of those 6 went for TDs.
Did Sherman watch Russel play at all last year💀💀 Russel is gonna sink the Steelers
Hes not going to turn the ball over😂😂😂😂
Did you see the last two years with the broncos. Him and fumilitis were the turnover duo
Wilson was terrible in Denver He did not put a solid product out there.
Russ can still do some dishes, but he can't cook like in 2019. His durability will be an issue this season. His height (truly 5'10") forces him to hold onto the ball longer until he can move to an angle to see down field. This leads to more sacks. Song remains the same
Yeah, crazy how he was 6'5 in 2019 right?
The Steelers offensive scheme fits him much better than what he had In Denver. It’s NOT the same song at all
Wilson WAS the chaos in Denver and for sure did chaos really solidly, is that what you meant???
Sabotage Sean Payton WAS the chaos in Denver. He undermined Wilson and benched him when Wilson had the Broncos in playoff contention. Payton is OVERRATED!
