- Okay first to say: i somehow escalated on the middle part a little. Sorry for that.
I know this isn't a song that will please everyone, but I really love this "Epic Trailer Version" and its my video, so enjoy it or leave it please 🙈
And because i didn't have a great story to tell this time, I decided to make a "Best of Sam & Jack" out of it. I havent used (by far) not all of (my personal) best moments but a song is just as long as it is.
So there is that.

Okay I need to rewatch this show toay, they were and are my OTP. Growing up I wanted to be like Samantha Carter so bad. Stargate was me and my dad's thing, it was out shared interest, just us two, I guess that why this is still one of my comfort shows.

Sam is a great role model to want to emulate ... and Jack too of course ... if the screen crush my late wife had on him was anything to go by :) We used to re-watch SG1 a lot and, depending who spoke first, one of the other of us would always comment on whether Sam or Jack would like to come around for dinner :chuckles:
And now my eyes are full of tears.

I have just watched the season four episode, Divide and Conquer, in which Sam and Jack are suspected of being assassins after coming under Goua'ld control. When being subjected to a Tok'ra mind probe, Sam realises that they are both lying, and alone together, they both confront their true feelings for each other and agree that they must stay between them. So, what is the problem, they are not going to stop having feelings for each other, the efficiency of the unit is not affected, why cant they see each other off duty?
Simple answer: because, after all, it's against the regulation. I totally agree with you though.
But to be perfectly honest, efficiency may not be compromised, but SG1 had their way of stretching the boundaries a bit when it came to saving each other.... Daniel and Teal'C included.
But rules aside, Sam and Jack are aware of the fact that any kind of inappropriate relationship could mean that SG1 gets separated. And that it would leave them vulnerable. Kinsey, for example, would have used this to discredit them (as he tried to do in "Inauguration").
On the other hand, episodes like "Entity" show that they (at least Jack) are indeed capable of doing what is necessary, in addition to their feelings, when the greater good is at stake..
Do I wish we would have had the opportunity to watch them finally getting together? Yes!
Do I understand why they didn't? Also Yes
@samandjackbelongtoge In the episode Threads, both Sam and Jack are separately told by different people to get together. Sam is told to not let regulations stand in her way and Jack is told to retire. The episode subtlety hints at the end that they get together when she finally goes fishing with him.
In the next episode Mobius they have a secret hand touch and Sam stands inappropriately close to Jack.
In the next season, Sam is having a conversation with a coworker that has been interested in her. She tells him she and Pete broke up. The coworker replies that he didn't know she was single again and Sam says that she's not.
So my fav video. Have watched it so many times.
