I salute everyone who put their weight on the ride in the first video. They saved lives man!
In all honesty, I wouldn't have done it. It was very heroic, but even I wouldn't have jumped on there.
The idea of it tilting anyway and people that stood on the edge falling 'into' the system that is still turning, grinding them up into pieces. While the people in the sofa-seat-shaped-seats are arguably safer. I wouldn't have done it.
Hope the operator/mechanic was fired.

Imaging being on a ride swinging violently and then feeling it fall back and then seeing 50 people run up and try to hold it down. I'm sure none of those people will go back to a carnival again.
After a documentary I saw some years ago about these traveling carnivals and how the rides are thrown together, not inspected and all around dangerous I will not ride them. I don’t mind the ones at a place like Six Flags where they are checked and maintained

I feel super bad and super sorry for everyone involved, especially people who were on the ride.

I was actually there when this happened. It happened in traverse city michigan while i was on vacation. They have a festival every year called “cherry festival” the rides have to be put up in 13 hours. That ride happens to be in front of a river. My best friend was on the ride but i didnt go because I’m afraid of heights. Luckily no one go hurt, but the manager got fired.
Why did the manager get fired? What role did he/she have in the ride tipping? Just curious?

The ride being in front of a river makes this even more horrifying, imagine if the ride actually tipped over… everybody on that ride would have drowned!

The crowd saving the ride, using their OWN BODY WEIGHT AS BALLAST, genuinely made me choke up a bit. That’s so amazing.
They are incredibly lucky to walk away alive. Usually, using your body as counterweight end up in turning you into a paste. Never ever do that.

That first guy to push against the ride made me cry :( I was run over by a car (thankfully I'm totally fine, I was right between the wheels) and I remember my husband running over to push it to get me out, even the idiot towing the car didn't help! Such a horrible feeling to try and save a loved one and to not have the strength to do it on your own! Thankfully once he started other kind people came to help as well. I'm so glad people like that man exist, and that isn't diminished if he had friends or family on the ride.

Yeah they're literally assembled and then disassembled repeatedly every year by people who can be described as "sketchy" at best. Nobody died from this particular incident, but it wouldn't have been the first time people died from carnival rides. At least amusement park rides are maintained on a daily basis and never move.

Guy with the Rubix cubes - probably the most impressive ability I've ever seen; to be able to focus on three complex, intricate tasks at the same time boggles the mind. Remembering the numbers, even if your memory is amazing, takes serious concentration, while focusing on the mind map of the rubix cube set-up must also need a serious focus of imagination of not one but THREE cubes, each needing to be solved individually, and on top of all that, seriously intricate finger/hand movements and adjustments to juggle. Amazing really.

If any of you are near west Texas I have 5 cats that need good homes. They are spayed/neutered and declawed in the front. All very loving. They had to be syringe fed as babies. They were abandoned. They will come with a breeze litter box system and their favorite food.

My great grandparents ran a hotel, where ride assemblers and other fair people would stay. It's been a family generation not to ride fair rides since. My grandma said half of them would be drunk or sleep deprived to "some of the most ridiculous states I've ever seen a person in". I still never ride fair rides for that reason alone. If i'm riding something I want it to be safe, assembled right, maintained well, and inspected well.

The fact that the ride operator didn't or couldn't stop it within a couple of seconds, should be what closes that ride down for good, and result in hefty fines and jail time.

The people that stoped the carnival ride from moving are hero’s, instead of taking video like the guy here did, they acted quikly to help.
Not everybody is meant to be a hero. Some just don't have the stomach for it. Instead, some are meant to make sure the heroes are recognized for their bravery by documenting it.

I worked at a carnival when I was young. Everyone setting up and running the rides is a drunk homeless person on drugs. Only some states require regular safety inspections. The rides get set up and tore down constantly, almost every week. So remember that next time you're at your local carnival.

Its a good way to live those places are very poorly looked after.
I'm from the city that that ride fucked up the city is very greedy so greedy they cancelled 1 of their festivals bc it's not a money maker but they'll keep this one going. plus they wouldn't replace the parts of those rides unless absolutely necessary and who knows how old those rides are that festival was like their 100th one
I really don't like amusement parks
I have 2 horrible experiences on carnival rides, one is my fault, the other is the ride operators fault.
The one that is my fault, I was 4 years old, and I took my shoes off on a ride like all the other kids were doing, and my toe got stuck inside the ride. I still have my toe, I just can't fully bend it and etc....
The second one, I was 16, I was on a ride like the one in the video, but it was called "Full-tilt" because the ride tilted forwards. The ride operator checked seat belts, I was obviously struggling with mine, and he didn't check mine, so the ride started. I got the seat belt buckled when the ride was half way up... (For context, the shoulder restraints were held down by the seat belt, which meant I had nothing holding me on)
@@strangereyes9594 the operator hit the e stop and bailed the ride😂. Said "fuck that I ain't getting paid enough to stop this shit" but with that giant hunk of metal swinging back and forth it's gonna take a min to stop that's gravity they can't do anything with that
Pop-up carnivals should just be classed as a scary mansion, because they're about as stable as a haystack in a hurricane.
The insects lifting their legs just before and during flight has me imagining them thinking "weee!" Lol
