Mokichi is actually fantastic martial artist, very well rounded with his boxing and jujitsu(baritsu). He forced Raian to use removal. I say he could beat a lot of other fighters but just unlucky he fought Raian in his very match
Yeah he's one of the strongest fighters that lost in round 1. He's probably the third strongest after meguro and okubo

perfect plays I mean, I’ve read both series and personally I’ve felt more disappointed with Kengan. All the more because of how the series ended, while Baki felt inconsistent at times but I enjoyed it more and it focused more on the martial aspect compared to Kengan.

Robinson pushes Raian use removal. Ohma wasn’t even able to hurt Raian without using advance at first.l, let alone face Raian using removal.
Ohma hadn't mastered his techniques yet, so his accuracy was off, until the very end when he started using different techniques, he stated to push Raian towards the ropes, eventually defeating him. Ohma just didn't trust his techniques, because they were created by his master who ended up dying by the hands of someone with greater strength. If Ohma used those techniques at the beginning of the round. He would've had a much more secured victory.
Ohma was dying and not able to use all of his niko technique due to memory loss at this point

Not really, on the surface it looks like that but remember the dude didn't use any martial art, it was said during the Ohma vs Raian fight if Raian used Kure techniques that fight would've been over in an instant

For someone who had to fight a literal devil on earth in Raian, Mokichi put up an insanely good fight. If it was any other first round fighter he would probably have won and gotten to the 2nd or 3rd round

A broken spinal column is a insta-kill. It'll put the victim out immediately, but unless the nerves are severed, they can survive, and even make a full recovery (albeit over several years), so long as they get medical help fairly quickly. In this case, the only unrealistic thing about Mokichi's survival was his short recovery period.
man, i actually liked robinsons design and style. But, he played into raians game and got blitzed. Great way to introduce a rival/foil to ohma though.

Robinson tried twice to hit him with the finger technique which Raian avoided both times. Maybe Robinson indeed had something to hurt him with...

If were talking in terms of pure skill, then Robinson may be on terms with the Devil Lance. But lacked the power needed to overcome the removal technique since Raian basically never uses them when fighting.
Without remove Robinson wins. His technique and speed are better. So in Omega Raian used the Kure techniques because the writers wanted to change things up. I'm not convinced Raian even knew them at this point. I think he used release as his trump and never bothered with technique because he didn't need it. He clearly doesn't care about keeping family secrets as shown by his use of release. His personality is one of liking to feel powerful. I don't think this guy would just let Ohma beat him. He would've used them on him to win. I see no reason for him to not use the kure techniques other than he never bothered to learn them.
As for base power, Raian is not so much more powerful as to overcome technique. I'd say Raian is probably stronger. Raian might be faster but he keeps throwing these wide punches which are easy to read while Robinson goes right for the target. Raian’s moves are transparent which is why he gets taken apart in the first half of the fight.
It’s also worth noting that Robinson actually held back in the early portion of the fight. He first tried a submission hold which Raian overpowered. Then he attempted to knock Raian out by throwing him on his head. Then the secret two finger technique, which I assume to be fatal. If he used two-fingers before removal Raian would probably have paid for his fooling around with his life. I can only speculate on what two fingers would do, but my best guess is a grabbing and ripping out the carotid artery.
All-in-all without removal Robinson wins. However Raian did have removal so he won. Even if Robinson won would almost certainly lose against Ohma in the next round. There are a number of candidates I think he could’ve beaten. But Robinson is one of the weaker members of this competition, but I don’t think any of the one that won their first round.
Well thought out but Raian did know the Kure techniques which is evident when others points out that he specifically doesn't use them since he enjoys overpowering his opponent. This isn't to say he doesnt hate losing and hence why he uses the removal which is classed as a Bloodline ability that he naturally has hence why he would use it even though its a 'family secret'. In addition while I do agree that Robinson did attempt to hold back and refrain from killing, he clearly stated that he through Raian on his head with "enough strength to kill a man" and even did a rest in peace gesture because he truly believed that Raian was dead.
