had a blast riding with u guys hmu if u want me to join with full gear i really liked the pace you keep and also like learning from more experienced people.
Same! It'll probably be a while till I'm back up there. Have slicks on my bike right now from the track day that I need to take off, but I'll let you know when I make it back out!
I have a 08 Honda CBR1000RR with pretty much the same situation. Most likely have to do an engine swap as well. Didn’t know you could swap it with a 2012 engine though. Where did you buy your engine from?
You can swap it all the way up to 2015 I believe, definitely do your research tho. The 2012 and up have heavier flywheels. The swap was pretty easy to do everything considered. I bought the engine off eBay, but I would check Facebook marketplace, offerup, craigslist. Buying from eBay was nice because it was from someone who parts out salvaged bikes so he had the salvaged title and paperwork showing the miles the engine had. Good luck with whatever you decide to do!
GripSanity Thanks man for all the info. I’m not savy enough to do it myself, so I’m taking it to a shop to have it done. I was told it could be my engine bearings. Hope it’s as smooth as yours.

@@CrispyRRider If your engine is burning oil it's your piston rings, very well documented issue online.
