Course he misses him, they created great chemistry together and still would, I'm sure of it. They seem to be two nice lads trying to find there way home, like a lot of us.

Noel absolutely nailed it at 3:08. This is exactly what I have been saying to people calling for an Oasis reunion. Oasis will never be "Oasis" again. Indeed, one could argue that the real Oasis died at the end of the 90s. The band was a phenomenon. A blazing shooting star of a band that came around at the right time, the right place, with the right sound and the right attitude. But that era is gone. As Noel said, let's just appreciate that and move on.
Noel is still a great writer. Liam is still a great singer. And both are still massive. Nobody is saying they'd be the supernova they were during the 90s, but some legendary fucking music would definitely come up out of an Oasis reunion and there's no denying that.
After he sacked Tony Mac they were never the same for me. Lost that bit of punk to their sound
I was a massive Oasis fan when they first came out and still love their first two albums and their incredible B-Sides from those albums. But for me, their third album was not up to the same standard and none have been thereafter. I did go to one of their stadium gigs on their Be Here Now tour and it was great. But that's pretty much it. They haven't been relevant as new music creators to me since their disappointing third album. Unlike another band from that time, Radiohead, that keep creating great new music.

Oasis haven't released a decent track since their 2nd album dropped. Their third/turd album, 'Be Here Now' was truly shite as has been everything from them ever since.
He's spot on about how the current generation have no Oasis or band like it. I'm 21 and have been listening to them for years which he is right with it being sad that the soundtrack of my teenage years is 25 years old and made by a group of 50 year old men. I'd love to see them together again either as brothers or as a band, but it wouldn't be the same. Let's not be sad that it ended, but be happy that it happened at all.

20 here, same. I used to be one of those kids mad about getting Oasis back together, but now I’ve gotten into a bunch of new Indie bands instead. There are in fact many good bands, but with the way the music industry is structured now, it’s practically impossible for there to be a big mainstream rock n roll band like in the 90s.
I mean for the early 2000s UK had Arctic Monkeys which were pretty dope as well

This is so sad. I always thought they would make up but Noel seems very final about it. They were such a special band to me. As a working class kid, they made me feel like I could be anything I wanted to be. I’ve had some of the best memories of my life watching Noel and Liam.

I just need to hear Slide Away live before I die. I'm 35, DM was the first album I ever owned (on cassette!) and the one chance I got to see Oasis back in the day I had a family member pass away just before so couldn't make it. I still listen to Oasis most days in the car at full volume but I have an Oasis-Live-shaped hole that can't be filled by anything else :(

@QuantumSludge Liam is actually more naturally funny I think because of his don't give a fuck delivery. They are both kind of knobheads though and Noel's ego is a little more annoying because he gives the impression that he should know better, whereas Liam was/is just a fool. It is a lot of pressure that they were and are under though so I know not to be too judgemental 😁

Maybe you don't appreciate what they meant to the fans, or the shockingly poor state of rock music today. If Oasis re-formed tomorrow they would fill a 50,000 capacity stadium, tickets selling in days. A world tour (if they could keep their crap together) would be historic. They remain, the last great stadium band.

Repeatedly asking Liam and Noel about an Oasis reunion is what Paul Weller had to put up with for years being asked about a reunion of The Jam. Both bands produced great catalogues and all three artists have moved on and are making great music. Personally I’m happy to have both the band and solo catalogues to listen to.
Same thing happened to the Beatles. As solo artists they all did well for themselves and made great music. But they also grew up and as Noel stated they are 50 yr old geezers and you can't go back in time and be young again. John Lennon said this very same thing in an interview. His days of singing "She Loves You Yeah Yeah" are over. It doesn't interest him anymore and has no desire to go back there.
@@RemyCT63 Absolutely agree. The Beatles are another prime example in terms of at least three of them producing superb solo work. Also agree with your point about going back isn’t the same and doesn’t work. People evolve. Best example of this, I think, is Paul Weller. His music has constantly evolved and I think his last 4-5 albums have been up there with his best ever work. To produce that, he had to go on his Style Council / solo journey.

My 3 friends and I listen to oasis all the time back in 95 (lending my cassettes and cds) but by 2000s, only me. Even tho we don’t see each other together often (separately only) we still talk about definitely maybe & morning glory like no time has passed on our group chat.
Chances of all 4 of us coming together would most likely be a funeral and I hope my funeral song would be live forever or champagne supernova!
1:28 it’s a shame for the young kids who even missed Arctic Monkeys bursting onto the scene with their first two albums, who had a bit of that, the only band to have any kind of cultural significance in britain since oasis came out in 94. If you were a teenager in 2005 for AM, it was absolutely huge

I seen the Artic Monkeys play a small bar, and then again years later at T in the Park. They really are a great band, and before seeing them, I was a diehard punk rock fan and not much else.

What would be great is for them to be on stage together, not a concert but just one of them popping by to sing a song, just one song , maybe just a chorus just to show that they will always love each other and that's it.
The stuff he's saying about Oasis being part of that particular generation is so true. If they did get back together it would be nowhere near the standard of the band in the 90s and would potentially ruin the legacy. I would love to see Oasis live but i know exactly why they won't do it and it's out of self respect

That kind of statement doesn’t really fit Oasis very well. Oasis went on until 2009, when they were well past their prime and Liam’s voice was worse than it is even now. If Oasis reunited today, they would likely be better than they were in around 2007-2009. That statement is more fitting of a band like The La’s, who have an almost perfect and mystical legacy.
I think they don't want to bring some old memories and their youth back. They just want their solo bands and their own contracts. They know their own stories/relationships/finances better than any of us do. It's their personal choice. I wish the journalists and TV hosts would stop teasing them because they really do not want a reunion. If they did, they would've done that years ago.

Noel makes a good point about reuniting at this point when the band was about youth and camaraderie between them. Although it would be good (and plus I bet their mom would like!) to see them be civil and bros again.
There’s a sadness to this. Forget the band. For two brothers to have fallen out for ten years plus is really tragic, over a spat. It’s now pride and stubbornness. Life is too short.
If they did talk it would end in one or the other killing each other it's best for them to stay as far away from the other as possible the Toxicity there is to Great I know I have a younger brother exactly like Liam.

this is the best answer I've ever heard Noel give to that question. the point about there being no bands and the whole thing being put on the shoulders of 50 old men is spot on. after the first show everyone would get bored and the appeal would be lost whether people want to admit it or not. everything oasis was and represented is wrapped up in those few glory years of the 90s where everything clicked, and thats not what people would get with a reunion

You know what kids. I bloody loved going to see Oasis. Watched them all over loads of times. One weekend London next weekend Edinburgh absolutely fantastic. What great days they were. But don’t worry kids you may not have seen them or ever will but least you aren’t old.
I still live in Hope that they will reunite for one last world tour together.... no matter how they sound; no matter what they sing... it would just be the most phenomenal thing to see them both back on stage.

Noel makes a very sound point about modern society waiting for grown mature men to reform. There is now a dearth of talent in music. I think in the next 25 years, it'll sadly all fizzle out and we will still be turning to these guys for inspiration.

I get his point about there's no new Oasis for the young generation, but this is simply, as he claimed, a deflection. Why should every generation has an Oasis? People are still listening to the Beatles from the 60s and Beethoven from the 18th century. Their music is a true legacy and I think somehow people should not expect great thing would always happen again now or in the future.
Of course, he does miss Liam. The fact that he refused to answer that question shows he does miss Liam, but his hubris won't allow to admit it.

There are some bloody great bands in the UK with young musicians making and performing extraordinarily difficult music. None of them are much like Oasis that I can think of, I'll grant that.
IDLES is a great post-punk band with awesome anthemic songs and great, charismatic singing and playing. Black Midi is an elite trio of elite jazz musicians making really eclectic rock music. Black Country New Road is a largish folk-rock band that has near perfect output. The Comet is Coming and Sons of Kemet making staggering jazz epics.
Arctic Monkeys aren't that new at this stage but still very active and very good.
It's a great fucking scene man. I wish Noel wouldn't paint in such broad strokes.
I think that what most of us want is for Noel and Liam to meet each other halfway, and remember that they are brothers.
I fell out with my sister for a few years. We were both wrong and eventually we sorted it out.

I'd love to see an Oasis reunion, but with it always getting dragged out, it seems like it's too far gone now, it'll just be forced if it happens and wont be natural to the brothers. I do hope they make up though, they made history together, but throwing away a brotherly relationship because of a band issue isn't right.
Absolutely agree mate. I'd love to see it as much as anyone but with how long it'd been I wonder too if it'd just be forced, and it probably will be. It's such a shame. As heartbreaking as it is, maybe now it's best to leave it and have everyone discussing for the end of time "What if?" rather than see it played out and it not be even close to what we were expecting.

It will happen eventually, but not anytime soon. I know, as I held a grudge against my brother for 20 years before I learned to accept our differences, and gained the knowhow to prevent these differences from inspiring . competitiveness, animosity, envy nor jealousy. I am able to retain my sense of self and still be around him,but it took decades of maturation for this knowledge to become inculcated.

To be honest, as a fan of Oasis at this point I don't even care that much about the band reuniting anymore. It's just really heartbreaking to see them continuing to not speak to each other for years. It's not even about the band anymore, it's about family. They're literally brothers, it's just a really painful and sad thing to watch

The hope of a reunion is dwindling as the years roll on but never say never. Look at Pink Floyd Live 8 for instance. There's still hope.

Problem is if they did do it, it wouldn’t be the same, people will expect to hear the Oasis from the 90s and they’d get two fellas in their 50s. Just let them get on with it their own projects, and you never know, when people stop asking it might settle for them and they’ll reflect.
They must get back together again, do almost the exact same set list as Knebworth and film it, stream it live worldwide in theaters, release a documentary about the come back show. The most spectacular comeback concert in history that brings the world together.
Think Led Zepplein will always hold the crown for "most spectacular comeback in concert history". I want Liam and Noel to reunite but not to just do music stuff, I want them to be brothers again. If they don't sort out something soon they'll be reuniting at their mums funeral which won't be nice
Yeah, calm down, they're just not that big. They never really made it big anywhere besides England, with some success in Europe. But it would be a big deal to millions, and that's enough.
For the record, NOEL, it’s not just a generation of kids wanting you back together, there’s a generation of 50 year old fans out there and several generation in between. I couldn’t think of anything better than being able to go to a gig with my kids and genuinely know that we would all get a buzz from it.
Everything Noel said about being in a band and the dislikes is totally true. It can sometimes not be worth it.
