I worked for a few respected old car fabricators as a young man and they enjoyed all the questions I asked, you could see in their eyes how much they wanted to pass on the trade to a younger generation
krishna tiwari I’ve dealt with people that if you ask questions they treat you like your stupid I’m just pointing out how it’s refreshing to see it not happen here.
That's how you resurrect a dying breed and keep people interested, and pass on your professional knowledge that you gained by doing it. Outstanding! Thanks Jesse
I might like to pass along a lot of the things I have learned but I haven’t found much of anybody that wants to learn it. Even my own son, I find myself trying to teach him mechanical things over the phone.
@@michaelszczys8316 there is something missing from the new generation(s) mine included although I do love the "crafts". Alot of guys who have a general interest in these sort of things expect to train a year and then make the BIG BUCKS when they dont know shit. But you watch Jesse as he works. His tounge sticks out, he gets into a groove, he loves it. I bet if you walked through his shop while hes working, hand him a defected fender, tank, anything, he will be compelled to fix it. Its in his nature, almost an OCD. Kids now dont "love" the work, they only love the money they could make.
I never saw Jessie as a teacher. More of a boss than a teacher. The producers never show us "how it is". They show us what they want to form a narrative.
Its different with a guy that wants to learn. Cant teach an old dog new tricks. A lot of guys have a bit of ego/pride and wont like being corrected, even if theres obviously a better way. Tv producers sometimes miss the mark of what the people watching want to see. They seem to think everything needs to be turned into a drama filled reality show with fast cuts and loud music. It's that kind of nonsense that drives people to RUclips instead.
So Awesome! More Please!!! Love watching Jesse James share his craft. I love that there’s no drama unlike most of the build/fab shows today. Thankyou Jesse!!! Thankyou Choppertown👍🇺🇸
@@choppertown awesome video man just wanted to throw a shout out to you I work for a bad ass machine shop in oklahoma City. we spray a few different metals on rods or inside bores. Plus people say I look like you. But it would be awesome just to meet u man
Jesse I kinda got a lil choked up seeing you after all these years, you are an inspiration to all the motor heads in the world. From Indian Larry , Johnny Chop & Arlen Im missing a bunch but you really showed us whats possible with metal heat and a hammer... I'm saving up for one of your 1911 masterpieces and one day I'll have one in my hands. Thanks Jesse.
This is an awesome series so far. Very happy to see Jesse teach these guys and us. Jesse James inspired me a long time ago to work on my own stuff, and very grateful for it. Nothing feels better than making even the smallest thing work yourself.
Mad respect for Jesse! this guy is a TRUE craftsman! plus he is teaching these tips and tricks to apprentices with patience. i would give anything to learn from a master like him!
What I love about JJ's style is that he is raw and straight from the start. Just bare bones flat metal to the mind dabbing. You can tell he worked hard to develop his craft.
Jesse, I am so glad to see you teaching these young guys your many skills.Too many young-uns don't want to learn. Glad you found these guys that want to learn& and are willing to take the time and LISTEN. It would be a shame for our skills to be lost.
Glad that Jesse is willing to teach these kids his craft. Also extremely happy that these kids want to learn this. We need these kids for all motorcycle and car lovers. Especially classics and customs
JJ, I remember as a kid reading how the fellows would use an Engiish Wheels making aircraft skins and autobody panels in the early 60s and wondered where to find one. Then saw you on West Coast Chopper series and mastered the art working with it. Then it seamed that everyone had to have one and the price for them went out of this world. You are an inspiration to many, I'm glad to see you're mentoring the young. You are a true Craftsman, an Artist and a a Legend. Keep teaching because your molding people's lives forever. I'm 65 and you helped inspire me and I mentor young kids as well.
The way Jesse started this is interesting. I ALWAYS start with the stretch and Jesse starts with a shrink... but I don't allow myself to weld armour at the end. We all have our own methods, nobody is right and nobody is wrong... Whatever shoe fits! The shrinker looks like a useful tool.. never tried one? Best wishes to all you fellow metal-botherers from an Englishman (without a wheel) in a French forest. 🏆🇬🇧⚔️
I think myself lucky. I'm a carpenter/joiner and served an apprenticeship and had older guys who would get me to do the crappy jobs but would also call me over and say right this is how you do this. Would teach me skills and techniques. And there is something about watching a craftsman pass on his experience and knowledge. Priceless.
Jesse James !! You sir the type of mentor all young men need . I pray you are the same man off camera. Honestly you come across as so. I sincerely wish I had a man like you training me at work.
Jesse James made me realize I could do metal work. Watching him on that first discovery channel show almost 20 years ago, I learned so much from watching him build fenders and tanks. I feel like I owe him something. I hope I get a chance to thank him some day.
My father was a skilled trades Tinsmith and fabricator for 35 yrs. I got him to watch some of Jesse's chopper shows and videos..he really enjoyed all the craftsmanship, kinda like the stuff he used to do. All the tools he would use, all the old school hand work, definitely cool.
Jesse is truly a representation of how a good man should be. He has not just taken on a trade and made his life a success, he is also being the master passing along the craft. To many trades are dying with out great mentors like him to pass along a passion and love for what our hands and minds are capable of. Mr James I thank you for being one of the few great men in this world.
I can watch this all day. No fast cuts, stupid music, made up deadlines or fake drama. Its wholesome to see skills getting passed down. When the current generation retires, so does there knowledge. I remember hearing jj say he makes bikes from the ground up, and made fun of other fab shops like occ that buy everything off the shelf and bolt it together. Jesse and orange county choppers are worlds apart in terms of craftsmanship imo. Dont get me wrong, occ and others make nice looking stuff, they just don't have the unique hand made qualities to them as much.
I been watching jesse james since i was a kid. These guys are so fkn lucky to be learning from him. To me that would be like winning the lottery. Jesse is a legend in my book.
A TRUE fabricator giving back to his profession that is slowly dying. Always amazed how JJ can take straight tube and flat sheets of metal to creat functioning art. Well done sir, well done!
Teaching the kid man thats so cools so much respect!!! Teaching skills lile that, a true craft is like teaching a man to fish, he will be able to support himself and his family! 💪💪💪👊
The copper bike with riots still was my favorite. Unbelievable, true craftsman, I'm a sheet metal worker 25yrs now, and that's some tricky shit not to fuck up.
I enjoy watching his video I'm glad to know that you're passing along some of your talent to others that want to know how to do it. I think both of these guys have a huge amount of potential to be really good at what they do.
I remember watching him back before the custom bike craze and was blown away by the talent and ability of the guy. To me, he is the creator of the whole trend.
Smart and driven young men. Best if all your passing on your craft. No better gift given than time and knowledge. Mad respect. Inspiring to say the very least.
"Just eyeball it dude", words of a true craftsman.
I love how this kid asks questions and you didn’t belittle him. Excellent mentorship

Agreed 👍
Very true. Most will hit you with the “it’s an old timers trick” bs. I wish I had someone to have taught me some good knowledge
All I can say is that these young men are extremely lucky!
Normally wouldn’t comment but seeing young people being taught is truly rewarding. Great job Jesse!

We need more mentors like Jesse James that want to pass the knowledge and creativity is got to be awesome to learn from one of the best
There's better fabricators.

These are some of the best I’ve seen of JJ...willing to share a skill with others with patience 👍👍

BEST METAL FAB MAN ALIVE , I LIKE SEEING HIM WORK AND TEACH HIS MAD SKILLS TO WILLING STUDENTS .
He's good but not the best.
Not even close but I would say he has put himself in the position he is in.
What an amazing opportunity to learn from JJ. Great to see they are doing so well.
Absolute hope for the younger generation. Bless this man and his karma. The world today DESPERATELY needs more Jesse James.
Would be cool to do this for a living, years of knowledge. Got to meet Mr. James once, very memorable
He's got a wealth of knowledge. Good to see he's an excellent teacher and not just a master motorcycle builder and fabricator .
You can tell when JJ is concentrating as he pokes his tongue to one side. Top work great teaching
Jesse is the man. Love watching him work.
I love just watching someone work and talk with minimal editing and no scrip. This is so much more interesting than the old reality shows
Nice to see the master at work again spreading his wealth of information.
Awesome seeing him reaching back and pulling kids up. That is what life's all about. Kudos.
