Her mixed and head register is really astounding... Eargasm!
If Christy were to leave the show (hopefully never since she was fantastic and left me in tears every time she sang), Alison would make a great Anastasia
And she's already worked with Derek before so that'd be cool too! But I'm with you, I hope Christy will stay for a whole while longer.
This song is like running a race. It's a slow build and takes a lot of effort to finish. I always get winded by the end, but hot damn.... she won! How amazing!
I’ve been listening to Alison’s cover of this song for the last 7 years. It’s still the best rendition of this song I’ve ever heard!
She would make such a fantastic Anastasia in the upcoming musical. My first choice!
It's going to be Christy Altomare. Anastasia is set to premiere in Hartford this May.
+HazelBerry Wooz Studios™ what do u mean transfer to Broadway???
+Gio Adrian It's moving from Hartford CT to NYC
She is a better singer than Christy I think.. But I do think Christy embodies the character more.
THIS IS EVERYTHING I NEVER KNEW I NEEDED.
I NEED A LIVE ACTION ANASTASIA AND I NEED HER TO BE ANASTASIA.
+wickedly4 MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY
+wickedly4 IT IS HAPPENING IT WILL BE OPEN IN A MONTH MY BODY IS READY!!!!
She actually sounds like Liz Callaway at points, but still has uniqueness . Really great voice
+DragonPride699 I adore both ladies too! I grew listening to Liz Calloway's voice through various animated musical films. Then later heard her in Miss Saigon. Now Alison is becoming a very prominent vocalist I listen to constantly. Each are so wonderful.
BTW- Love your avatar my fellow HTTYD fan. :)
I watch this at least once a day.
lol me too!
I just discovered this and I will begin to do the same
"Anastasia" is my ultimate favourite animated film. This is gorgeous.
Her voice always sounds in peak condition and so so healthy. I LOOOOVE a healthy sounding voice!
i love christy as anastasia so much but i demand alison play her in the touring cast
I LOVE Christy as Anastasia. I think Alison would be a good choice for the touring cast or when Christy leaves the show, unless they give it to her understudy like they did with Dimitry when Derek left.
AMAZING! One of my favorite songs!!
YAS QUEEN FUCK IT UP YAAAS
holy crap that was so beautiful. she was really feeling the song.
Congratulations to Ms.Luff on becoming the new Fantine in Les Miserables on Broadway! You are going to be heart wrenching and stunning while singing I Dreamed a Dream. :)

i'm speechless, alison's talent never fails to amaze me oh my god i'm never gonna stop listening to this.
I have lost count of how many times I have re-watched this. I absolutely luff it
Best rendition I've have EVER heard
This is and will for all eternity be the best rendition of this song. Period. I'll never get tired of listening to it! It's pure perfection..
She does such a beautiful job with this song
I love Alison Luff and everything she sings!
Saw her twice in Boston a few years ago as the green girl! She's needs to put out her own album so I can enjoy her powerful belt everywhere!
+Joe MacDonald I second that! :)
Any other takers?!
***** You're not kidding right?
If not then HECK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Forgive my over zealous fangirling. I'm just so excited!
Is she doing her own music or a cover album? I'll gladly take either since her voice is class and her soul is beautiful.
Thank you very much for sharing, :)
omg her voice is so amazing
Sweet Baby Jesus that angelic voice...
So powerful, such conviction... I hope one day I can see her live in ANY performance.
I literally can't stop listening to this. Absolutely incredible
Okayyyyy sis! The woman playing Anastasia now is good but home girl got it! I believe she should be the next one
My first Elphaba!!!
Oh my gosh, that was absolutely beautiful.
i love how she sings this song...brilliant!
I love how heavy she makes her voice
I'm screaming this is amazing
I'm just in tears right now T____T so beautifull!!
This is my favourite thing ever
This is my first time hearing this song and oh my gosh CHILLS
I did not expect that, but it's absolutely perfect!!!!! Her voice is perfect for this part and her emotion is definitely something to get me going everytime❣️❣️
Wow. Is there anything Alison Luff sings that isn't just terrific? Outstanding.
This is one of the most impressive Live performances I've seen. Her focus is amazing.
This song is very hard to sing and she did amazing! So jealous😋
Nicole Saga I can sing this well and this comment really gives me self confidence 😂
I can't tell if I like her or Chrsity more. They're both at different styles of singing, but I love both. Ill just settle with the fact that they're both amazing.
So beautiful
INCREIBLE!!! BRAVO
I love this woman. I had the honor of meeting her three summers ago when she was Elphie in Wicked. She is gorgeous and talented and adorable. I love her so much! Also, ANASTASIA!!!!!!!!
The placement is AMAZING when she lets the belt come out. Her head voice is weaker but it has such a unique raspiness that works so well in this song! What a performance 😍
Trevor Gabel it’s either an off day or just a stylistic choice(to me it sounds like a stylistic choice) because her head voice is incredible. if you look up her singing defying gravity you can hear it.
Daaaang, she looks just like the animated Anastasia
Alison. She kills me! She's so great. I saw the new stage production in Hartford - I reviewed it on my channel! Even tried to play one of the new songs from the show...
She is incredible!
Many singers sang this song. I especially like her as Anastasia! AWESOME!
As much as I love Christy Altomare for Broadway, Alison is just angelic, I wish she could be up on that stage for this role
Great version of a wonderful song :)
you know that feeling you get when you like the cover in comparison to the original? not that i'm dissing the original singer of this song, but this version is just.... Beautiful
GOOSEBUMPS!!!
🎶🎤Beautifully sung.👏🏻
yesssss slay girl, slay
I am spellbound.
BRAVO MS. LUFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
i watch this nearly everyday!😂
They've officially announced an Anastasia musical....If they don't pick her...such an injustice.
GERAHHHHHHHGH I HAD NO IDEA ANASTASIA HAD A BROADWAY Musical I VE ALWAYS LOVE THAT MOVIE AND WISHED IT WAS MUSICAL!!!!!😍😍😍😍😍😂😭🙃
Yasss!
ATTENTION IT'S FINALLY COMING TO BROADWAY WE CAN DIE HAPPY NOW!!!!
Her voice is so unique
Wow she was amazing!!!! She does sound like Liz Callaway a little Beautiful Voice 😍😍😍😉👍🏻
Damn😍😍
great voice
BEAUTIFUL!!
Oh. Oh wow. That's her.
ok so at first i was like..."meh" and thought to myself i can do better then this....BUT...she def KILLED it midway to the end!!!!! beautiful
Nothing will ever beat the original
i actually rlly like it in this key
Who tf would dislike this? Miserable souls.
YAHS Alison.
im dying to see this musical *__*
I got the goosies with this.
Allison is gonna be Jenna in Waitress!!!! 😃❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wish they did "Once upon a December" too ❤
I still prefer Christy's version but she is incredible too. Her vibrato is goals.
holy shit.
Anyone with vocal knowledge know how to get that vibrato? And placement? She's perfect
+Matthew Alexander Y'know how each person has their own personal voice? Everyone has their own vibrato as well! You can try your hardest to emulate someone's vibrato but it won't work unless your natural vibrato sounds like theirs. As for her placement, I'd have to guess pure training. I hope this helped!!! Have a great day!!
oh damn
Niiice
I want her to Anya!
Who is here after finding out she’s gonna be the next Jenna?
Sounds like her voice belongs in a Disney Princess Movies
Un-be-lievable...
dude. no joke, i know her father and brother!! they live next to me!
In my book she's probably 3rd behind Liz and Christy respectfully, but I'd love to see her in either the touring cast or when Christy leaves the show.
Did you get footage from the Newsies reunion?
Wow it's unique from from Liz Callaway's version but it's still incredible!!!!
Does anyone know what key Journey to the past is in???
WHAT key is she singing in, it is not the original movie version but I like it so much better
It's a lil fast but It's also very very nice
Listening to other covers of this just aren't as good because frequently they don't really understand "mixing" Alison does it wonderfully, though she can't quite be as good as the original Liz Callaway
this is one of my favorite songs and her voice is perfect for it! i've said before she reminds me of liz callaway and lea salonga. my only issue with this performance is that she is singing in a higher key than the original and it sounds forced. power belting is suitable for songs like "defying gravity" but for "journey to the past"...not so much. she still did a good job though!!
Now THIS singer should have been elected as the voice of Elsa in Frozen - instead of Idina Menzel whom I still don't understand was chosen to sing those songs. Her vocals sound as if she's struggling to get on the high notes, and she can't even do them with the proper power either. Alison should have done them - she would have done them superb!
DDDDAAAAAANNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
She sounds amazing, but I prefer this song in a lower key.
Are they turning this into a musical??
+Top50Reviews Yes they are. In the Broadway season of 2016-2017. An exact date has not been released but it is coming. :)
Awesome!
It is weird how she moves the hands, though,
better be the SAME as the movie
did she just change keys during "no one ever mentions fear"
/\ she sang the whole song in a higher key.
Somehow this lady reminds me of Kristin Steward. Why? Why I ask?
