Are we sure that deferred money is added I thought it was a portion of the 70 was deferred
I heard that the Blue Jays offered $75 mil for 3 years, but I don't know if there's any additional money there in deferrals. The Angels may swoop in at the last minute.
From what I saw released it was 25 first year with opt out, 28 second year and 30 for 3rd year from the Jays and it was a done deal with Boras but Alonso wanted to hold out in hopes the Mets up their offer. The offer included the increases for if they Jays opted him back in if be opts out.

It would be a significant loss to the Mets to lose Pete. But we all know that the longer this goes on with the Mets, the less Pete's productivity with drop. What I mean is NOT SATSIFIED why give it all you got. Sorry Pete your losing you following everyday you delay. My feelings point blank.Orrin

At this point Pete has waited so long that if he took the $23m, he will cost about $46m due to luxury tax. Put Ronnie or Mark in front of Soto and you will get Pete like numbers. Kick rocks Pete
I’m not sure who “Ronnie” or “Mark” are, but you hit your best guys behind Soto, not in front of him. Soto is an on-base machine and you want your RBI guys driving him in. You don’t let your RBI guys hit with nobody on base and let your on-base machine get on base with nobody to drive him in hitting behind him.
Soto hits in the 2 hole. He was made for that spot.
They're not going to pitch around Mark or Ronnie to get to Soto. So they will see better pitches and they both have enough power to hit 30hr. Our best hitter besides Soto is Lindor and he's hitting #1 and after him is Nimmo but I'm not sure if Mendy will go back to back lefties. The point is either one would give you 30hr in front of Soto and probably won't have an ops of 500 with runners on like Pete.
@@MeanwhileinSyracuseNy i just don’t understand the backwards thinking in today’s game. You bat your on-base guys first, then your RBI guys behind them. Your RBI guys are useless without runs to drive in.

I think Torkelson could be a sneaky good pickup, he has shown flashes of his talent but badly needs a change of teams to a team who can smooth out hitters better.
