I purchased a Salsa Blackthorn a few weeks ago and it rides great. So many top notch components for the price. I think the seat is the only thing that I will change. Any seat you guys like?
I ride the CroMag saddle on my Fuel EX 9.9. I love the profile and the additional length adjustment I received. It hasn't let me down in the last four years.
Thanks for watching Paul and asking your question. I am sorry for the delayed response. I would ride that Salsa like I stole it on any trail in the state. It's built like the Fuel and can handle anything you throw at it. I ride my Fuel EX everywhere and have had zero issues. That being said, Sedona has fantastic trails that are hours of fun. When I do not have time to drive up north, I enjoy the regional parks throughout the valley. I hope this answer is helpful, my friend. Let us know how the bike is working for you, and adventure safely.
@@GetOutArizona I have had a few good night rides on the PMP! It rocked at Hawes, Red mountain rush and Mine trail! Monday taking it to Bean Peak in Prescott!
@@paulscircle Nice, I am jealous. I am still waiting for a complete release from my surgeon so I can get back on the trails. Sorry for the delayed response. I've been on the road. Thank you again for watching.
Honest and insightful review/comparison. So glad Trek of West Phoenix is carrying Salsa as an option instead of Trek - both great mfgrs.
Thank you for the feedback and for taking the time to watch. Both are appreciated, my friend.
Just scored a 2023 Salsa Blackthorn C SLX for $2400. So pumped!!!
Nice; keep us posted on how you are enjoying it, and sorry for the delayed response.
You guys do a great job. I have seen a few videos over the past year.
Thank you for your support and feedback, my friend. Both are sincerely appreciated.
Glad I got the fuel ex 8 gen 6! Feels like a dream
The EX8 is a fabulous bike, and I am glad to hear you are enjoying it. Thank you for watching, my friend, and adding to the discussion.
Great comparison. My Fuel EX 9.8 is the same color as the Fuel 5 you reviewed. Pedal safe
Thank you for your feedback, Gary!

How well does the blackthorn climb?
I picked up a Salsa Blackthorn Carbon today, what AZ trails do you think it's meant to take on? What do you recommend?
