these poets music videos are every time top notch. i just start thinking where this band can go? they was just game awards in usa and 100 million people see they performance about alan wake 2 game and damn. thanx to great reaction and have wonderful weekend. love poets.
There's a full 13:35 long state of art version of Old Gods of Asgard's (alias for POTF) "Herald of Darkness" in RUclips. Full version includes all absolutely stunning guitar solos, it's out of this world. ruclips.net/video/UbOIq5ylwPQ/видео.html
Yes, that was masterfully coordinated. Being an indie band, they always relied on games to gain more publicity, and it worked out well with Max Payne, Alan Wake I, and Control. But in Alan Wake II for the first time they are not just cartoon characters, their faces are clearly visible and recognizable. The timing of the release of their first OGOA album just one day after 100 million people watched their performance at the game awards, and the real band name being mentioned after the performance - a genius marketing move! What a way to wrap up this year for them. After 20 successful years in the business, their name and faces will now truly be known worldwide. And they did it all by themselves without ever selling their souls and sacrificing their artistic freedom to the contracts and big bucks major labels offered them along the way. I hope they’ll always stay true to themselves no matter what comes next for them.
The Tarot cards from left to right are: The Fool, Death, The Magician. Not quite sure how much you know of Tarot and the meaning of the cards, but the message in them is very much inline with the song/video.
You should check out their Alexander Theatre session they released each month during covidcraze. Most of the songs are just Marko and either Captain or Olli playing piano or guitar, the sounds echoing majestically through the Alexandre Theatre. Incredible. Some of the later ones have the whole band, and they even bring in Triosis+, a strings group, to do three songs. An absolutely magnificent musical experience, made even better in that they were focused on helping their fans through the madness of the pandemic by releasing one a month.
Another great reaction, thank you. You’re right, Marko does not just sing a song, he always ”performs” it with his whole body, also live, I just couldn’t help but noticing it again during the 20th anniversary tour. Perhaps one of the reasons (aside from his magnificent vocal skills and control) why he conveys emotions so well in his songs. How about something completely different next? How about you take a look at their Old Gods Of Asgard live performance of ”Herald of Darkness” during this year’s Game Awards on Dec. 7th? Considering the fact that they had just played the last gig of their tour a few days before the event, then got on a plane with very little time to rehearse, and performed this live with the rest of the Alan Wake main cast makes you appreciate their commitment and dedication even more. If you haven’t seen it yet, you’re in for something special!
Thank you botyh for a sencire reaction... but to fair this band is one of the best right now. It is pop, it is rock and even cvlassical and Marko Saaresto is a amazing singer. He can even sing in falsetto which is quite hard to accomplish. Amd also the heavienesss of the sound compared sometimes to a light voice is just perfect. When a song is a kinda rollercoaster it also makes a huge impact to the listener... and it does effect on you
As a long time listener to Poets I can say that I don't think they have a bad or even mediocre song on any of their albums. Every album's feel is slightly different, but still POTF. That said, I still feel that "Signs of Life" is my favorite album, as it covers a lot of their sound types and also has the song that started their journey, and my own with them after hearing it in Max Payne 2, "Late Goodbye."
Third time I watch this reaction, I love the way you talk about the meaning behind the song and how moved you are with the artistry of it all. It makes me happy 😊 Daze, Choice Millionaire, My Dark Disquiet are but a few videos you should check out. But as you are also very much into the lyrics and the musicallity, do check out Hello Cabaret and Beyond the Horizon from the same album as Requiem for my Harlequin. These are also available from the band's official RUclips Channel and although just audio, I am convinced you'd have a blast. Can't wait for more Poets of the Fall "down the rabbit hole" ❤ Happy New Year to you both!
Yves, but _. they now play "loud and rock"_ without the feeling they' played in their early Records / Live gigs.. I've watched ~ +- 33 Live_gigs ; and every new is More about The "volyme and show" then his voise____
I completely agree, he's not just a singer/frontman, he's an entertainer and true performer that puts 100% of himself into everything, and has endless charisma and presence
They are just superb! And don't even get me started on Marko's voice! One of their best songs!

They are one of my favourite bands! I just saw them live couple of weeks ago and they are (and has always been) fantastic live! 🔥🎸😍
Thank you ❤ Marko❤ and the whole band, they are awesome! Greetings from Finland 🤗
Thank u for this! Maybe "Hello Cabaret" next? U can find some fan made lyric vids of that, no official music video.

I think you should watch Daze. I almost dropped to the floor from my chair when I saw it for the first time

I feel Marko has the Same Magic that The Late Great Freddie Mercury had.

Always wanted to see them in Russia, the clunge that attends is magnificent!
