watching dancing is a wonderful therapy - dance is a way that humans have expressed joy and sorrow all thru the ages. I used to line dance at a local dance hall and I know that when I stepped on the dance floor all my trouble, worries and heartaches left me for that short time I was on the floor. Yes they come back when the music ends - - but for a short time you are able to forget and just ENJOY being one with music and movement. I've not been able to dance for several years due to many different reasons, but I've never given up my love of dance....Dancing With the Stars has always been a favorite of mine. I'm a dance junkie, it makes you feel good, I can feel my body tensing up in the chair and wanting to get up and join them on their floor even thou I can't - none the less, it always fills me with joy. Good luck to you in your efforts with your therapy, I think that dance is a wonderful outlet and can bring you joy. Barb

Shawn was good technically, sure, but I've never seen anyone so emotionless when they dance. A smile isn't enough for me. Gilles had the acting as well as the dancing. Technique isn't enough for me. I need to feel the love. Gilles should have won!
@tameshawilkinson I could not have said it any better. Everyone loves Lacey, Julianne and Derek but there choreo looks good because it is usually wacky especially in seriouse dances. Cheryl IS the best pro dancer there. And is BY FAR the best female dancer to ever be on the show. simple as that -.-

As the weeks go on, over the top confidence they are safe or complacency about voting could be disastrous. REMEMBER what happened to Sabrina Bryan... who was clearly one of the best dancers in her season... got voted off because she seemed invincible and her supporters didn't vote. SO VOTE! :-))
Gilles and Cheryl won. The judges' decision to award all 30s was what skewed things. Had Gilles and Cheryl danced first for the final, their superiority would have been so indisputable that the judges would have been compelled to award Shawn and Mark a 28 or 29. Favorite Gille and Cheryl routine (hard to pick) but have to go with waltz for the emotion. Excellent season insofar as I got to witness such a great pairing. Here's to great things ahead for Gilles!
dwts is over as far as I'm concerned. To not give the trophy to Gilles is beyond words. what a performer he is. the others did not even belong on the stage with him.

I too am shocked at that freestyle Cheryl did. It's as bad as the one Tony & Stacy Keebler did in season 2. Maybe they were trying to let Shawn win or something, cuz that made no sense.
Not sure how much the pros make but I read that all the celebrities make $200k even if they don't win. The winner does get more in the end but it was not specified.
I don' t know why people always complain about this show not being fair. This show has never been fair and it doesn't need to be. It has been a popularity contest from the very beginning. It has never been about the best dancer winning. Look at how far Cloris Leachman, Steve Wozniak and Ty Murrary went on the show. With the exception of Ty improving a little each week...Lil Kim shouldn't have been kicked off before him. She was a better dancer than him but that's how the audience voted.
I thought I was the only who thought this. There was nothing unlikeable about Shawn, and she was very good technically, but she did seem emotionless. There wasn't any passion in her dances.

Come on! Be a little more classy. I admit Gilles was incredible and prolly a little more of a dancer than Shawn, but don't be snobby about just cuz he didnt win. Fyi, Shawn is not fat! It's all muscle she's an Olympian for cryin out loud! Even though Gilles was awesome, Shawn was no slouch either. People liked her too ya know.
