Worms are the perfect pets! They are so forgiving if we don't check on them frequently. In fact, I think they prefer it! What beautiful oak leaves you have. Here on the West coast, we are blessed with many leaves as well. They are definitely my preferred bedding. ~ Sandra
Sandra, I totally agree! They love to be left alone for a bit! lol.... Have you tried using the California oak leaves? I used to live in So Cal but I never tried them. I have always been curious about that.
I'm a bit further north than California, so by West Coast I mean Vancouver Island, Canada. We live in a community called Oak Bay, so there are a LOT of oak trees! Our garden actually has big leaf maple, so my worms get a lot of those leaves. I shred them up and feed them to my worm bins dry or pre-composted as leaf mold. ~ Sandra
