    Curt was so happy and smiling in his younger days. I can't even begin to understand what happened to him when he went to Hollywood. Now, he's all stuck up, uptight, doesn't smile, and when he does talk to the audience, he doesn't connect. He was so beautiful. I can't take my eyes off him when he was younger. Roland didn't smile alot back then, but he put in intense performances each and everytime. Nowadays, Roland talks to his audience, smiles, does silly faces. He's just great. I grew up as a teen in the 80's and music was our "internet" back then --- it contained all of our hopes and dreams, and brought optimism and appreciation for the things we had --- and it was mostly a feeling of community and friendship in music and concerts, unlike the tribalism and hate found on the internet today

    • @ElishaDavid
      @ElishaDavid Год назад +4

      I've never really been to a concert pre-smartphones. The crowd looks like they're all having so much fun, mostly thanks to the energy the band has on stage. Very jealous that I won't really ever experience that with a crowd of people.

    • @AnodyneHipsterInfluencer
      @AnodyneHipsterInfluencer Год назад +1

      Sadly, that's very true and any of us who experienced the pre-smartphone takeover of concerts can attest to it as a very plain fact. Concerts were infinitely better, more exciting and communal experiences.

    I swear Curt and Roland are the best duo! Curt has so much soul in his voice and Roland backing him up with his guitar and awesome stage presence just creates an awesome ass performance. And of course can’t forget the rest of the band giving them the energy they need in order to do it all. Love this song!

      @@saysHotdogs You're not wrong they're one of the few bands where they both share vocal credits about equally ,
      if you listen to their other songs it's either Roland or Curt even though it's always been said Roland actually wrote most of their songs .
      And maybe you knew all this already . 🤔

    We saw them in the 80s in Radio City Music Hall, NYC. It was one of the most memorable and one of the best shows we have seen. Book of Love opened up, which was amazing in itself and then of course, the Tears for Fears put one the best show. It was incredible and brings back so many amazing memories. Thank you for the gift of music and the best era in music, the 80s.

    This song reminds me of my father when I was a kid early 2000s he would have it playing in the car he’s still present but it just makes me appreciate him and this song even more. As a 16 year old coming as an Immigrant he said this was the song of his time when he arrived. He did more than good and gave my family the best upbringing we could ask for. Listening to this song makes me so proud to be born in the Greatest country in the world that gives all who try an opportunity the land of Freedom and Liberty God bless you all and stay safe🇺🇸.
